I used to b just like u. Gaming was my own private guilty pleasure. Little did I know there r so many of us older gamers. N little did I realize what a good time running around with other experienced gamers can b. Not to mention this game n most new gen games revolve around cooperative game play Go to dads of destiny n find a clan that sounds like it fits u. Jump in with some guys that will help u get better n play cohesively in crucible, raids, strikes, etc. u won't be disappointed. Ur gear will improve. N the game will expand. For non dads sorry no dice. As far as joining the clan. But we friend n ally with other older gamers n like clans
Edit: for the grammar police...
1). No grammar issues, just abbreviations. It is hard to type all that on a phone with fat fingers. Esp when it's your first touch screen
2) it is a game forum not a f'n English paper
3). What does grammar have to do with game play and ability
4) I am just suggesting this to guys who would normally play solo. Not really recruiting as much as offering a way to expand the game for some people. I used to be that solo guy, the game expands and is more enjoyable with a group. Nothing more.
Edit: have gotten a lot more responses than I thought I would. I am again pleasantly surprised by all us mature gamers. DoD set up a separate web site as we grew. Go to dadsofdestiny.net there you can browse thru LFG posts among others and find open clans in you perspective available times. Some more casual and some more serious clans n players.

Edytowany przez użytkownika clinton c33: 1/16/2015 1:31:03 AMI would love to join this group so I can be taught the raids from someone that wont be a jerk to me or instant kick me when I don't know something,.... 39 year old dad of two sons age 5 and 1.....Was part of what I consider the 1st gaming generation...grew up playing atari to nintendo to sega and then eventually to playstation. Been addicted to destiny since it came out (even though I can't play it as much as I would like due to dad duties). I have rarely picked up another game since.... on Ps3 psn: clinton_c33

17 OdpowiedziI'm looking up every dad that responds. I'm a member of DoD Charlie (active) I have consolidated lots of other DoD guys together in a phone/computer app called "line". There we chat and set up fireteams. It works swimmingly and has changed the way we communicate. I'd like to add you guys

6 OdpowiedziI've checked out DoD. I can't figure out the system for joining, though. I'm on PS3, and there appears to be only a handful of PS3 clans. I read an explanation stating that each clan only holds 100 or so people or something...at which point a new clan must be created and linked. I was kind of tired of trying to figure it out at that point, so i could be wrong. Pretty sure I did everything according to the step by step instructions, but nothing ever came of it. I must be missing something because joining a clan shouldn't be that difficult.

40 year old dad of a 6 year old girl, I work 5am to 3pm. I only play early evenings and all day Sunday. I run a level 30 Warlock, I'm available to do raids or whatever. I don't have a mic or headphones is the only problem. Console: PS4 gamer tag: Jasolewis51774

Edytowany przez użytkownika Lukin305: 1/16/2015 12:28:17 AM36 year old Pops to a 13 year old daughter, who's also a gamer. To all the other gamer dads out there who might feel discouraged, keep doing what you're doing. It will create an awesome bond with your child :)

2 OdpowiedziI like this! My dad and I both play Destiny. He used to use my account and use other Characters, but now has his own Xbox and Destiny. He plays Solo a lot, as he likes it. But he tends to come to me as I have the most experience. It's a good relationship we've built, considering life at home hasn't always been good between us.

12 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Wolphe22: 1/15/2015 6:38:31 PMJust found out 2 weeks ago that I'm going to be a dad. Don't know how it's going to affect my gaming in 8 months, but I'm stoked! Until then, it would be nice to have some people to play with in the mornings. I work nights and do the family thing after work. So mornings is all i got time for. Anyone else play in the mornings? I'm on ps4 psn: Wolphe22. Edit: Thanks guys! Edit2: Some great advice here! I am definitely taking notes.

Its nice to see I'm not the only dad playing and nice to see others play with their children. My son lives with his mother about an hour and a half away so i don't get to see him everyday but we do play destiny for a hour or so a night before he has to go to bed.

1 OdpowiedźAs a father of a 15 year old that I play the game with, it's standard protocol for them to correct you because they think they know everything. I always shut that conversation down by explaining that the router password can change at a moments notice. I also explain that his punishment will be watching me dismantle his exotics and Raid gear. This usually results in the highest of praise about what a great father I am....lol

3 OdpowiedziI read about DoD a while back and was interested. I have twin 3 year old boys. They're not aware of it, but I'm currently saving extra money to purchase sparrow lessons for them. I usually play late after the boys go to bed. I would love to be a part of DoD.
