I've been gaming for a very long time. Over the years, I've noticed two very important things.
1) More and more women are playing video games
2) Gaming is still very much male-centric, and the attitude and actions of male players reinforce this.
Listen, I'm not gonna accuse all of you male Destiny players of being "sexist, misogynistic pigs". I don't believe people are intentionally like that. But you have to realize that you may unconsciously hold some, dare I say, sexist attitudes that turn away many females from playing games.
Do you only play as male Guardian? If you don't, great! You're making Destiny, and gaming in general, a welcome, safe, and inclusive space for women. However, if you do only play as male Guardians, then that can be indicative of some very negative attitudes, attitudes from when gaming was (and still is, to an extent) a boy's club. That needs to change.
So, I encourage every man out there to make a female Guardian, to show solidarity with all of the gals playing Destiny. If you don't have an empty character slot, delete one of your male characters and start anew!

I have two female Guardians. After reading this tripe, I'm seriously considering deleting them and making male characters just to spite your dumb ass.

Do female guardians have smaller hit boxes? Or a class advantage like fallout? If they do or did. I would play one. Otherwise no thanks

1 OdpowiedźThat sounds really gay... How would my guardian heft those heavy LMG's? Whoops, I guess that was kinda discriminatory. _/😏\_

Edytowany przez użytkownika ellenpageishot: 2/13/2015 12:14:45 AMSo you're telling me I'm not allowed to play as male guardians basically, are you for real? I've never been sexist towards a female gamer and I have 3

6 OdpowiedziTbh I'm the only girl in our group and I crack gross jokes, teabag, and scream 'Get off my dick, bitch!' Just as much as my dude friends do. We have a great time. Honestly, as long as they don't coddle me, almost every random guy I've gamed with has been great. What I DO hate is 'I'll carry you!' Please don't give me special treatment, that's what really makes me feel dehumanized and isolated. I'm here to play video games and have a good time. I don't need to be treated like a baby, like I'm fragile. Treat me like you treat anyone else and we'll be just fine.

22 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Crimson: 2/10/2015 9:28:47 PMAs a chick, I endorse this statement. You don't understand the torture we face until you've been humped in the hallway, or pelvic thrusted in PVP. How would you feel if you were kneeling to tie your boots or change your inventory, just to look up and see a generic junk plate in your face? Show your support by becoming a female....
because it's the only action you're bound to get any time soon.
EDIT: Since I apparently have to spell this entire thing out for most people, I KNOW that everyone experiences these things, which is why I find this thread so funny and responded in like with my own satire and humor. As I said below, I always see shit tons of complaints from girls on the forums, but EVERYONE and their mothers hump and grind. F*ck, I've done it to other players, which is why I love this post. I feel like it's mocking all of those stupid "omg, I've been harassed" threads, and that's fabulous! Now, if you'd kindly get the sticks out of your arses and enjoy the humor that this thread has provided.... Damn, bros.

Without sexism I could hit a girl in a punch up till she's black in the face just like you would do a fella. You want that? I feel that sexism and racism is good in very minuscule quantities.

4 OdpowiedziThe gender of someone's character does not determine whether they are a sexist douchenozzle. The assumption it that does makes you/them a bigot. I've run across plenty of guys with female characters who where the worst sort of scum. I've seen just as many guys with male characters who have been perfectly decent people. What people forget, is that things like racism and sexism run both ways. Here's the meter stick: if you're action is based on race/gender it doesn't matter what you did (Negative *OR* positive) then it is racism/sexism. Choose not to hire someone because they're black? Racism Hire someone just because they're black? Racism Choose not to hire someone just for being female? Sexism Hire someone just for being female? Sexism If your behavior/choice is modified in any way by X that makes it Xism. (No one ever complains about it when it's in their favor do they?) It will end when their race/gender doesn't make a difference at all in how they are treated. The solution is not to counter it with racism/sexism of a different sort, and hem and haw, oh we need to give her special treatment cause that guy was a jerk (what, like she's too weak a person to handle herself?) You need to treat the guy like the jerk he is, or the woman like the jerk she is (hey, equal treatment) It's to go after the source. Kick the sexist ones, when their behavior warrants it ban them, fire them. They need to learn the rest of the world won't tolerate their behavior, and every time you ignore them in favor of trying to pamper whoever they've insulted your silence reinforces their words/actions/worldview as acceptable. Shame them, humiliate them, grind them into dust. Nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Or I won't make a female guardian because some armor look awkward as he'll on them and I don't like their dances. Doesn't mean I'm sexist just means a female guardian does not suit my tastes

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika DrakenGuardDGM: 2/11/2015 3:03:22 AMMost guys I know play female characters is to actually to perv on said model the phrase I usually hear is "Id rather being staring at a girls butt all day instead of a guys" so tbh and this is a major complaint I hear from a lot of female gamers I regularly play with. Playing the opposite gender usually has the opposite connotation than you realize.....

You sound very ignorant. (Oy vey! You need more diversity goyim!) it's not sexist to make a male character, next you are going to say that we need to make more black guardians so that there is more diversity and a "better" gaming environment.
-
Woman should get off games in general and make them selves useful and make me a damn sandwich
-
It is not sexist 1 bit to play as all male guardians for the reason of supporting your gender and not to be a catfish as a chick or male, either way you should play what charter you ever choose but don't call us sexist for being what we are rather to try to be something we are not this is the same as a dog trying to be a bird it is not meant to be.
-
So because I'm a guy, I can't make all guy characters? Next your going to tell me the girls can make all characters though.
-
3 OdpowiedziI have yet to see a single female player break a 1.0 in crucible, what gives OP, I thought we were equal genders????
