It's so damn pathetic that Microsoft and Sony can't prevent this hacking bullshit. Every time you get on Xbox or PlayStation the online gaming servers are always down! Seriously we pay $400 to $500 dollars on consoles and this is the shit we get?! Come the hell on now.

Yes ! This !

Both companies spend $millions$ to protect their shit and someone comes along with a cheap program to hack their systems. $Millions$ down the drain.
-
Billion dollar companies can't figure out a way to stop 15 year olds. This is stupid. What am I paying for?
-
They want attention from it! All you gotta do is ignore it coz there just laugh get all all the comments making new and all the twitter replies/follows.

108 OdpowiedziFirst off, the geckos threatened a DDOS attack, which is NOT EVEN CLOSE to a hack. Second, it wasn't even them. All anyone experienced was what every online gamer goes through EVERY YEAR at Christmas. It's called a Christmas Crash. A server or two get overloaded from the sudden influx of new players on a particular server, causing a network drop. Relax and do something else for 10 minutes. P.S. I never lost connection. ;)

It's pathetic that psn can't get itself to work lol

3 OdpowiedziThis isn't hacking. It's a ddos attack. It can't be stopped. And Microsoft and Sony cannot be expected to hold massive amounts of redundant capacity in case arseholes decide to clog up the system
-
So is anyone able to play yet? I'm still not able to sign into PSN. This is annoying as hell.

1 OdpowiedźA DDoS attack is the simplest network attack. All it takes is a flood of fake packets bombarding the link between Xbox/PSN servers and their ISP. Which is the most vulnerable spot of any network. Which is why its so hard to prevent. Live and PSN servers accept all web traffic and to my knowledge does not have a packet filter or authorized web content filter. It is no fault to Xbox or Sony. Its all in the hands of these asshats that think its fun to deny millions joy.

1 OdpowiedźIt's not a hack it's an attack. Billions of dollars could not prevent a ddos

7 OdpowiedziMicrosoft does just fine. Sony tho xD
-
Its not hacking you idiot.... Its like asking why the cops in Furgeson let the QT burn down...if you want to get a mob of several thousand together and all go stand in front of a Microsoft store, what exactly can we do? No one in IT has solved a DDOS attack except Google...think of them as a store and entire world fits inside it.

7 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Omni Reverie: 12/26/2014 6:53:16 PMIt's pathetic that you decide to play video games instead of being with your family on Christmas. Unless you're an orphan, then video games shouldn't be your concern, orphan boy.

3 OdpowiedziDDOSers and they can, they're just stupid enough not to have a setup in place that restricts the number of connections going in to them.
-
Ddos bro not hacks.
-
They can prevent iT but it Costs way to much
-
2 OdpowiedziThey're not hackers. DDOS isn't a hack.

Here is a live view of DDOS attacks, is more on the ISP's allowing them than on the targets. http://map.ipviking.com/

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Moist Caramel: 12/26/2014 6:32:38 PMI don't think u quite understand how a ddos works. (By the way, a ddos isn't a "hack")
-
First off, DDoSing isn't hacking. Also, it's hard to prevent a DDoS attack when the servers are public and not private.

5 OdpowiedziWe could all blame Microsoft for releasing OS after OS that isnt secure.
-
Ya it's bs

3 OdpowiedziLizard squad did a Ddos attack which basically uses bot machines to pummel servers. Common practice is to shut the door so to speak. That way nothing gets damaged and its easier to back track where the attack came from. Sony and Microsoft shut down the servers themselves that's why it was off so long, so the fbi and nsa can find these -blam!-ers. They already got one guy and since this is the second time they've done this...they're basically -blam!-ed
