Anyone who frequents the forum probably knows that I have been a staunch defender of Bungie from day 1. I have called people morons for thinking content was taken out. I watched my buddy play a level earlier and it was the SAME -blam!-ING level that was shown in a trailer 5 months ago. I assumed the section was simply cut from the game for good. Not cut for the sake of making money.
I defended you guys because I could not believe that a game company in this day and age could be SO stupid and SO arrogant as to believe they could get away with it. No more. I am gonna download this DLC because I sadly already paid for it but after that I am done unless they actually start telling us the truth.
To all those I doubted and insulted I would like to apologize. I just never thought a company could think they could get away with something like this in this day and age.
EDIT: I finished the "Expansion" "Story" missions (Sadly I pre-ordered the DLC) in around 45 mins.
Add on top of that the fact the "Expansion" includes the following....
- No new cutscenes
- No in depth explanation of what is going on
- No new open areas to explore.
- All 3 "Story" missions take you to places you have already played through and only VERY momentarily take you to places you haven't
- Only a 2 level increase to the cap
- A raid that by all accounts is easier than Atheon was in the beginning.
Bungie calling this an "Expansion" is a travesty.
As if that all wasn't bad enough Eris is a re-skinned version of the Queens Wrath event. Random NPC somewhere in the tower has a ship behind her and exchanges bounties for rep for gear and never really explains why you are doing things for her in the first place.
If you take a step back and look at the way she and her whole set up is you will see that it is essentially the SAME EXACT design that the Queens Wrath set up was.
EDIT 2: I was able to get a refund. I made a thread on how to get a refund if you are on Playstation

2 OdpowiedziIts not that they cut content. Its that they chopped the thing up and are selling it as what is essentially a 100 dollar game. They aren't expansions, they are completions.

9 OdpowiedziThe only thing I will say is this: does anybody really think that expansions and downloadable content just magically starts being worked on after the release of the base game? They would understandably have had to be working on it before release. The game just came out a couple of months ago. They can't just start then and create expansions. These things take years of development, just like the base game does. I'm not saying they didn't cut content. They still could have, for all I know. I'm saying that I have no idea whether they did or not, and neither does anybody else except people who actually work at Bungie. The glitched areas and the fact that we've already seen some stuff from future DLCs means squat.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Roudhouse Kick: 12/10/2014 12:20:46 AMIt wasn't so much as cutting content as it was releasing the game 3 months too early so they could make their money back (which they did) by releasing it during a game drought period. Had it been released this x-mas, we would have the dark below content included (instead of having to download that damn 20 GB download the other week) which IMO would have been fantastic value for money, even the naysayers and negative nancies among us would have felt they got their money's worth - even if the new content is mostly lack luster... Granted, by the same token they may not have made their money back had they released at x-mas time.

Hey Coyote, I remember you dude, we were always fighting over shit in this game.. or the lack of.

There was so much data to support that content was cut for DLC that I'm a bit astounded that you are just now coming to that conclusion... Never seen you in the forums that I can remember... but I fully commend you for this post and owning your being incorrect. I think that certainly speaks to your character and wish you the best. Hope your eyes being opened for the first time doesn't completely turn you off from this game.

You fought with the men who would starve us and kill our children. Now you fight with men who would end all tyranny & evil how does it feel?

1 OdpowiedźFuuuuuuuck this. The dark below should 100% be in the main game already. I'm willing to bet the house of wolves should be in the damn game too. Bungie needed a lot more time to make the game at least till the summer but activision was like "nope money now, payed dlc later". Bastards......

1 OdpowiedźEh, given the size of the project I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that there are things they worked on and then changed their minds and simply shelved those ideas/weapons/maps/etc for later content. As it has been planned as a 10 year project from the beginning, I'm willing to give them that benefit of the doubt. However, that doesn't excuse the myriad other bad decisions they've made (Queen's Wrath nerf, Iron Banner 1 being no different from vanilla Crucible, locking weekly strike behind DLC) and unless they step up their game, I can certainly promise you I won't be around for 10 years. Honestly, with House of Wolves due in March, is it really worth it to upgrade any of the new gear?? I pretty much just finished upgrading a bunch of gear which is now pretty much all worthless. I really don't want to be just finished upgrading gear when House of Wolves comes out. Now, if they would make it easier to upgrade gear and get ascendants, that would be a different scenario. Sadly, they just don't seem to be in a mood to do us any favors. I don't know who's in charge over there, but I think he or she hates us.

4 OdpowiedziLmfao, theres still idiots who think its all cut content? Some people whine over anything

1 OdpowiedźYou're playing it so don't gripe. Right or wrong (it is wrong) the fact you're going to go ahead and use it isn't taking much of a stand.
-
As soon as I finished the main missions I was thinking "wait, doesn't the queen's brother end up on Earth?" I then went and looked up the trailer again and realized they cut content this DLC is just making me wonder how much they actually cut
-
I read this article a few hours ago too. I'm a little disappointed about it so for now, I just won't be buying the DLC unless it drops in price later down the line...
-
I never even seen u lol

4 OdpowiedziDestiny 2 should have been in Destiny but they cut content. Destiny should have been in Halo but they cut content.
-
6 OdpowiedziI know they cut content but I do not think this dlc is it. This does all seem mostly new. One big give away is that there is no lines from dinklebot. If this was old content he would probably be the narrator not the chica.

7 OdpowiedziWhat's happened is indeed BS. I've never played another game where you had to buy an expansion pack to keep playing what you've been been playing. One of the first things I noticed when I started up Destiny today is that I can't play Weekly Heroic or Weekly Nightfall missions. I'm not saying I'm surprised, but that's BS. I shouldn't be cut out of playing some parts of the game just because I didn't buy an "expansion" pack.

who could POSSIBLY defend them now? theyre in danger but no one is DEFENDING THEM
