Anyone who frequents the forum probably knows that I have been a staunch defender of Bungie from day 1. I have called people morons for thinking content was taken out. I watched my buddy play a level earlier and it was the SAME -blam!-ING level that was shown in a trailer 5 months ago. I assumed the section was simply cut from the game for good. Not cut for the sake of making money.
I defended you guys because I could not believe that a game company in this day and age could be SO stupid and SO arrogant as to believe they could get away with it. No more. I am gonna download this DLC because I sadly already paid for it but after that I am done unless they actually start telling us the truth.
To all those I doubted and insulted I would like to apologize. I just never thought a company could think they could get away with something like this in this day and age.
EDIT: I finished the "Expansion" "Story" missions (Sadly I pre-ordered the DLC) in around 45 mins.
Add on top of that the fact the "Expansion" includes the following....
- No new cutscenes
- No in depth explanation of what is going on
- No new open areas to explore.
- All 3 "Story" missions take you to places you have already played through and only VERY momentarily take you to places you haven't
- Only a 2 level increase to the cap
- A raid that by all accounts is easier than Atheon was in the beginning.
Bungie calling this an "Expansion" is a travesty.
As if that all wasn't bad enough Eris is a re-skinned version of the Queens Wrath event. Random NPC somewhere in the tower has a ship behind her and exchanges bounties for rep for gear and never really explains why you are doing things for her in the first place.
If you take a step back and look at the way she and her whole set up is you will see that it is essentially the SAME EXACT design that the Queens Wrath set up was.
EDIT 2: I was able to get a refund. I made a thread on how to get a refund if you are on Playstation

It's good bro I have a ton of fun playing and always will. all these haters that post of here talking crap about bungie complain and they go play on their characters for a few hours lol. It's impossible to please everyone.

Now if you step back and look closely, you can see the vast range of the Butthurts that have migrated here and will continue to dwell. For it is now their newfound home. :)
-
You can also spend $100 for an hour with a specific woman of your choice. It might also make you lighten up a bit and take gaming not this seriously.
-
Are you serious? If anything it disproves it. TDB isn't cut content... it barely even qualifies as content at all. It's three rooms! If you PVE, and don't raid, the only 'content' in this whole DLC is a feeble three boss rooms. No new patrol areas, no new places to explore, nothing new... just the same areas we've patrolled a hundred times before when doing bounties.

Edytowany przez użytkownika DangerMouse: 12/11/2014 1:45:14 PMThe cutting content wouldn't matter if they made a full game that was engaging, had a story, or DLC that take place in a new area... Unfourunatly they did none of those things...
-
The hotfix on Monday was a time released content unlock....I can now understand those that didn't pay for an "upgraded" package would be pissed....I'm still happy with the added stuff of LE just glad the "pass" came with it.

I love the new missions, I love the new strikes, and the raid is a thing of beauty. I liked it.

88 OdpowiedziSome of you complainers just need to get a reality check. There is almost no business where a consumer pays $60 and the seller has to kiss their ass for 3-6 months without receiving any additional goods or service fees. I don't care if DLC was on the disk on day 1 or finished on month 3. If you've played the base game for over 60 hours you gotten value for money and then some. If you're not happy at this point sell the game and move on.

1 OdpowiedźI mean destiny clearly just isn't your game my friend almost all of us knew they had cut content from the original which i would like to point out is most likely because of activision wanting to get their money's worth from this game and i would gladly buy the dlc again because i love this game and i dont generally like games that bungie makes primarily i was never a huge fan of halo but seriously bro move on to a different game if you dont like destiny

7 OdpowiedziIt's industry standard, especially for mmo/RPG/MMORPG etc games to build as much as 70% of its framework into the disc for dlc that is coming out just months after the release. But many non mmo games do it too! Here's some examples - Ace Combat 6 [360/PS3]: Dozens of pallette swaps and planes. Beautiful Katamari [360]: A good portion of the levels are locked on the disc and they require purchase. [NOTE: Katamari Forever contains most of BK's content, including "DLC" content.] Bioshock 2 [360/PS3/PC]: "Sinclair's Solution", a multiplayer expansion with new maps and loadouts. Bulletstorm [360/PS3/PC]: Six "Echoes" missions (Score Attack / Time Trials) and the "Anarchy Mode" (Multiplayer) require a code to unlock. New copies of the game come bundled with an unlock code, while gamers who buy used copies may have to pay $10 to unlock it. Dragon's Dogma [360/PS3]: Additional sidequests. Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 [360/PS3]: 10 free missions. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier [360/PS3] King of Fighters XIII [360/PS3]: 3 playable characters: Ex Kyo, Ex Lori, and Mr. Karate. Metroid Prime [GCN]: The Fusion Suit costume and original NES Metroid game were only unlockable after using a GameCube to GBA link cable and connecting to a copy of Metroid Fusion. [NOTE: The Wii version of New Play Control Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime Trilogy will automatically unlock this content after beating the game once.] Resident Evil 5 [360/PS3/PC]: "Versus" mode was locked. The price to unlock was $5. [NOTE: The Gold Edition of RE5 comes with Versus unlocked already, as well as additional content.] Resident Evil 6 [360/PS3]: Three maps from "The Mercenaries" mode are locked away. Unlock codes are being given out as pre-order bonuses from specific retailers: Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. Each retailer will give you a different map. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City [360/PS3]: Weapons and costumes. Unlock codes came with the "Limited Edition" copies. Saints Row The Third [360/PS3]: Cheat codes and extra guns. Soul Calibur IV [360/PS3]: The characters Yoda and Darth Vader are on the discs for both versions of the game, but on the 360 you must pay to unlock Darth Vader, while on the PS3 you must pay to unlock Yoda. Soul Calibur V [360/PS3]: Dampierre, a playable character, is on the disc for both versions. Sonic Generations [360/PS3/PC]: Casino Night Zone. A pinball mini-game given to GameStop pre-orders. Available for purchase separately. Street Fighter X Tekken [360/PS3]: 12 characters, including fan favorites such as Elena, Dudley, Lei, and Bryan Fury. Also, various "Gems" which grant special abilities. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 [360/PS3]: 4 characters: Kunimitsu, Ogre, Angel, and Michelle. If one pre-orders the game at specific retailers they get one of the characters, while the others will be downloadable down the line. None of them will cost a single cent however, so this on-disc DLC is free. Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 [360/PS3]: Jill & Shuma. Both cost $10. Costumes are also locked on the disc. WWE 12 - Playable characters HBK, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler. Alternate costumes for Edge, Christian, and Road Warriors. All of these did the same as Bungie/Destiny.

I -blam!-ed up preordering lol

spot on lol.destiny the 10 year con.

Only a moron would say that they did not cut content. The same goes for every other video game, movie, TV series, novel, etc. out there. Some material stays while other material is cut. It is merely a part of the development/editing process.
-
I don't agree with Bungie making the DLC content in the rotation for the dailies and weeklies at all. Neither do I agree with the fact that literally everything from the Crucible and Vanguard vendors are for people with TDB. If you don't have this DLC you're literally -blam!-ed in this game. All vault of glass gear is obsolete; the only reason I'm still running it on hard is for the Vex Mythoclast. Vendor gear is better and all my exotic weapons and gear that I put so much time and effort into grinding out bounties and getting shards is freaking worthless as well. I'm not gonna sit here and whine because I do have the DLC and I'm still loving this game but the things that Bungie have done just are not acceptable. They're simply forcing people to buy TDB and I don't know why... all I have to say. Disagree with me if you want but what they did is bullshit for MANY players.

7 OdpowiedziPlease listen to Queen Elsa. Thanks.

10 OdpowiedziYou're a piece of shit. You pay for content, play it all, then get a refund for it? That's some -blam!-ed up shit right there. Also, that neogaf thread is full of uneducated bullshit. The author doesn't know his elbow from his asshole. Bungie have been adding the DLC content to the game slowly over the past few weeks, with the majority occurring during the 2.6gb update the other week. They did this because they want to ensure that everyone has the same content on their consoles, and the only thing separating dlc and non dlc users is an expansion pass. This is why the dlc content was discovered in the games files. Not because it was always there.

I agree with much of your post.... Here's my thoughts that I expressed after reading the Forbes non biased article....."Thanks for sharing. I totally agree with the writer and mind you I'm a huge fan of destiny, but I'm a little let down with the "expansion pass". I can't believe there isn't even one cut scene. Kind of breaks my heart. Last night I was doing the mission that takes you to the cutscene w the Queen in the reef. I might be a geek but that scene set my imagination on fire, and how cool is it to see the guardian that you created on screen in an action scene? Well it's awesome. Adding story content and a cut scene can suck me in and makes me want to immerse myself in the destiny world. Unfortunately we didn't get that, and although I will still grind for a month or so I don't know how much longer. I feel like the DLC is a cover up with something they lost on the way. It's a beautiful game and as one person said thou; "THIS IS THE DUMBEST GAME I HAVE EVER LOVED". .. Bungie has all of it in place, they just need to implement more depth, otherwise they will see many leave for a game that draws one in to the character even more. PEACE. Edit: as I read the commentaries I think many must have blinders on. You have no idea how much I love this game. I've bought an extra console so my partner and I can play at the same time just because of this game. I also have a lil shrine w my limited editon stuff. Lol. Besides the point, I think we have to get real, or at least I do and ask myself does my brain and senses need and should expect more? The answer for me is yes."

1 OdpowiedźIt's just so obvious by how little this dlc does for this game that they are already hard at work on destiny 2. It's right in our face.
