The title says it all.

You don't gain anything, all they do is shut shit down so people can't have fun it makes no sense to me! By the time I have spent time with my family and had some food and a little Christmas nap, xbox live will be back online, if it even goes offline. That is if I even play the xbox on a day when people tend not to, as they to are spending time with their families. This is not addressed to the person who made this post as you are probably not even part of the cumquat squad anyway. You just be trolling.

[i]FOREVER!!!!![/i]"[/quote] It helps if you have an orchestra play an ominous "dun dun DUN" afterwards, but that's not strictly necessary as long as you really hit the dramatic pause.

They are just going to get their asses handed to them by Microsoft. If they are looking for notoriety then why hack Microsoft. One of the worst security networks and a complete joke to hack. Even the famous hacker group Anonymous said that hacking them I ridiculous and not that large of a feat. If only these kids understood the real world they would understand that reverse psychology is a pain in the butt!

2 OdpowiedziSimply put, it really goes to show that they are the Amateur Hour act of the Script Kiddies club, if they think that they have the power or know-how to actually do it. If anything, they have at least crossed the lines of making a terroristic threat, that will make the authorities more keen on shutting them down. Domestic terrorism, combined with the fact that the FTC has grounds to get involved, at least in the US, means that there is a shelf life on these clowns. If they think that they can just run their DDoS for an extended period of time, they are more than welcome to try. They will be helping the authorities to track them down. Just like tracing a phone call, the longer that a DDoS is run, the easier it becomes to trace it back to the source. And, if they think that they are going to physically compromise the segment of Azure that XBL runs on, they really need to learn a little more about how Microsoft has built that platform. Having worked with the Security Engineers at Microsoft, in their Cloud Computing division, I can say - with confidence - that they (LS) are outclassed, skill-wise, by those folks. All a DDoS is, ultimately, is a disruption. It is elementary to do, which is why these people are likely no more than school-age folks who think that because they took a programming course, understand how all of technology works. They could not be more mistaken. Realistically, they are no more than a nuisance. But if they want to think that they can "elevate their game", more power to them. Makes designating resources and pursuing legal action against them so much more attainable.
