How the f^ck am I supposed to get Faction or Vanguard gear without having to play the god awful Crucible and Tiger Strikes now?
Edit:
-Vanguard marks are useless for my main at this point and I'm sure I'm not the only one running into this brick wall.
-If they had simply added the new system to the old it would have been great. This would have allowed us to swap marks and transfer them to other characters even if it would have meant a loss of both marks and mats.
-It's time to dance and make a sammich while "playing" Crucible matches.
Edit 2:
Bungie, what we actually want.
-The ability to purchase mats with glimmer. (1000 glimmer per 50 mats.)
-Give us back the ability to purchase marks and rep for mats as we have been able to do since day one.
-Give us the ability to purchase strange coins at 10k glimmer and motes for 5k glimmer.
-You're welcome Bungie, I just solved your economic problems for you and I'm not even on the payroll.
Edit 3:
(Double, or triple, the amounts of glimmer I suggested if you think my prices are too low, just give us SOMETHING to spend glimmer on that would actually be useful.)

2 OdpowiedziI find it rather funny that i used to sell 50 material and get 5 marks of my choice. And now Bungie is selling this shit back to me for a hefty markup. I mean really... 20 material for 10 marks ? Anyone else think this is retarded ? This game if full of shoddy vendors
-
5 OdpowiedziYou don't play crucible or stikes? What do you do then? Go play something else
-
8 OdpowiedziRunning in circles hoping that the next corner I round will have a chest or node for the material I need was not very fun. Sitting on 100+ Vanguard/Crucible marks because I have nothing to spend them on was also not very fun. New patch = problems solved.
-
5 OdpowiedziI noticed that. I assume they found some kind of (mark -material - new material buying option) loop that was too exploitable.
-
3 OdpowiedziI guess this change wouldn't bother me as much if I could use my vanguard marks with factions... Seriously though.
-
5 OdpowiedziBecause people spent marks on the materials then cashed them in for more marks and more rep.
-
4 OdpowiedziIt would have taken 1,000 mats to max out one of the faction marks for the week, and 2,000 to max both Vanguard and Crucible. Are there actually people who farmed THIS MUCH just for marks? When they probably had to farm to upgrade their gear at the same time? Wow
-
5 Odpowiedzicrucuble marks are for people who play crucible thats why
-
1 OdpowiedźPeople actually did this? lol
-
19 OdpowiedziWhy do you hate crucible so much? I understand the repetitive tiger strikes.
-
5 OdpowiedziBungie will know from the data they collect from Destiny, the percentage of players that trade materials for rep and marks. I'd say that if they dropped it, then it is extremely low. I've traded materials maybe 4 or 5 times since day 1 and most of my game time is in patrol, farming. I suck at crucible and am not a fan of PvP at all but I've still managed to get enough crucible marks to buy things from factions. I don't think it's a big deal.
-
I look forward to playing crucible and completely ruining my teams chances of winning. Be careful what you wish for because you just may get it.
if you don't get it, I suck at crucible.
4 OdpowiedziPublic events give 4 marks

5 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Amadeus1613: 12/2/2014 3:26:27 AMI did not know there was this option or maybe I did and completely forgot about it. People actually trade materials (!) for marks? Doesn't that take twice as long? Edit: But if this change means there will be more sub-par players in the Crucible, then really it is a bad idea all round. What would be the rationale though? To boost Crucible traffic?
-
8 OdpowiedziI max out every week without doing Tiger strikes. Do public events, the weeklies, and shit. They roll in fast.
-
I always farm while doin bounties and public events. I trade in hundreds of materials weekly for marks. I don't care what marks u give me just give me something for all these crappy materials
-
And buying matts is waay unbalanced. 10 marks for 20 matts?? Keep it bungie, shit what is that, 3 damn strikes for 20 materials??! Lol I would rather farm. I guarantee anyone here can find more than 20 matts in half the time it would take to get 10 marks in anything. Who the hell comes up with this non sense. Zero thought went into this marks for matts madness. I enjoyed just running around collecting chests and finding mats knowing there is a reward for it however small. Fells like another knock on the solo gammer. There will need to be some kind of reward for collecting access matts, I mean really, who is going to just run past em?? Ya, No one. Just seems lazy bungie.
-
7 OdpowiedziI personally think they should scrap the vanguard and crucible vendors, just use the 3 faction vendors and only have 1 type of mark that can be obtained with both pve and pvp and put the weekly cap at 200.
-
28 OdpowiedziHow does it make any sense that you should be able to get Crucible rank, without playing Crucible? Personally, I think they fixed an issue on that one. Why be rewarded in PvP ranking, when you don't do PvP?
-
Yea that suks. I thought it was a great system, something to do to kill some time and you can earn marks. So now it's is all mission or pvp based. Shit man so what if I wanted to just chill and run around, no point now. Come on! I can understand the pvp points but the vanguard? Really?? Thay need to come up with SOMETHING we can do with access mats.
-
2 OdpowiedziThey should make factions accept vanguard. It would make the game so much more fun.
-
4 OdpowiedziI see your point for weapons. Though most of the faction weapons tend to be perked toward PvP. Not to say they don't kick ass in PvE, but they seem more geared toward PvP. If you're after armor, it's a bit of a waste if you're shooting for endgame. I get that people don't want to grind for gear, but honestly I never had to grind endless strikes. I did bounties and played the game to get my vanguard gear before raid gear. Never felt grindy. By the time I rolled my titian I had nearly a full set for him and my warlock. I had everything but gloves/boots for my titian. Got gloves in a drop shortly after hitting 20. Had almost 65 marks by then for boots and only had to "grind" two strikes to get the 6 marks I needed. My warlock isn't even 20 yet and I have everything but boots, including an legendary and exotic helm and gloves. So i'm not too worried there either. Raid/IB gear gets you to 30, everything in between fills a niche to reach said goal. If you level beyond 27/28 gear wise, you're kinda wasting your time. You'll get raid gear and just have to regrind to get it full. Save a few extra shards and don't max out non light 30 gear. I get that the perks are mainly what you're after, but again, unless you're filling a niche and sticking at level 27-29, there really isn't a point in going outside the vanguard for gear to get to endgame. People do have PvP sets of gear, though if you are that person you more than likely don't need to trade mats for marks/reps. Granted with crucible marks it was possible to have a full set of purple gear right off the bat; provided you had maxed 200 vanguard and 200 crucible marks. Though again, you're just speeding up your sprint to the glass ceiling and grinding for Raid gear.

4 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Desticle: 12/2/2014 1:26:35 AMBecause who the hell did that anyway?
-
So let me get this straight they used to give us 5 marks for 50 material now it costs 10 for 20 material. Destroying this game in my eyes. Too many of my friends hav already traded this game in and i could be next if things carry on with these pointless updates. Concentrate on the bigger updates that need sorting out first.
-
I get 80-90 marks a week doing Nightfall, weekly, daily heroic and public events. I run one or two Tiger strikes to cap out if there's nothing else going on. Plenty of opportunity to earn those marks
-
22 OdpowiedziJust one more method for forcing players to suffer through the Crucible so they can turn around and show the numbers of people "enjoying" it. I, for one, am of the firm belief that the existence of the Crucible makes the rest of the game worse. It's actually harmful to the game as a whole for being in there. It's just so godawful and terrible in every way, but players are constantly being forced into it through various means. It's disgusting. Bungie should just cut their losses on that one and patch it out completely, or at least relegate it to a dark corner of the game that can be avoided and never seen should players choose to ignore it.
