You can't trade mats for marks anymore!
How the f^ck am I supposed to get Faction or Vanguard gear without having to play the god awful Crucible and Tiger Strikes now?
Edit:
-Vanguard marks are useless for my main at this point and I'm sure I'm not the only one running into this brick wall.
-If they had simply added the new system to the old it would have been great. This would have allowed us to swap marks and transfer them to other characters even if it would have meant a loss of both marks and mats.
-It's time to dance and make a sammich while "playing" Crucible matches.

Bungie, what we actually want.
-The ability to purchase mats with glimmer. (1000 glimmer per 50 mats.)
-Give us back the ability to purchase marks and rep for mats as we have been able to do since day one.
-Give us the ability to purchase strange coins at 10k glimmer and motes for 5k glimmer.
-You're welcome Bungie, I just solved your economic problems for you and I'm not even on the payroll.
Edit 3:
(Double, or triple, the amounts of glimmer I suggested if you think my prices are too low, just give us SOMETHING to spend glimmer on that would actually be useful.)

1 Odpowiedź[b][u]SOLUTION[/u][/b] - Allow people to buy 10 material for 10 marks. - Allow people to exchange 10 materials for 5 marks. Now you can either farm materials to get marks for the faction you need [b][u]OR[/u][/b] exchange the marks you DON'T need for HALF-AS-MANY of those that you do. Example: You want to buy something that requires crucible marks, but you only enjoy PvE (or vise-versa). Now you can play the tiger strikes, which you wouldn't bother with otherwise (this increases playtime while decreasing burnout, Bungie). After you have farmed your weekly 100 vanguard marks you can exchange them for any material that you want, say spin metal. At that point, you would have 100 spin metal just from the strikes. You could then use just those 100 spin metal to purchase 50 crucible marks. Everyone wins. -Bungie gets people to play longer. -PvE fans get to stick to PvE and still get faction gear. -People that only want to PvP get to stick to PvP and still get Vanguard gear, plus they don't have to lose their games because they were stuck with "noobs' on their team, noobs who are only there because they want the marks and don't actually care about improving or winning in the crucible. (Upvote if you think this is a solution you could agree with. Maybe someone at Bungie will actually see it then.)

4 OdpowiedziMy biggest issue with these whining posts is this: what the hell do you NEED from crucible vendors? Honestly I haven't spent a crucible mark since I started playing up until I could buy mats with them. I have a thirty and two 29s. Why would I want the legendaries they sell?? They can't get me to 30 and I get enough weapons from the raid/nightfalls/engrams or even the vanguard vendor that I don't need four extra legendary vendors. [b][u]To summarize: YOU DON'T NEED CRUCIBLE MARKS. [/u][/b]

17 Odpowiedziif you dont play crucible; you do not receive crucible rep and marks if you do not play pve; you do not receive vanguard rep and marks That's how things should be. If you do not play the require game type you should not get the corresponding rewards. you dont get to choose orange while you ask for an apple.

1 Odpowiedźhow is this a problem though? vanguard-run the dailys at 28, heroic, public events. I usually cap out before the week is out. ? crucible-is takes less time to play 2 matches and get 6 marks vs. farming 50 mats. also, what do even need them for at this point

Then if you wanted you could buy crucible marks with your vanguard marks. Then if you wanted you could buy vanguard marks with your crucible marks. Then if you wanted you could buy crucible marks with your vanguard marks. And so on until you were destitute. Might as well donate all your marks to the Vex liberation front, become a monk, move to the forgotten shore and become Randall's bitch.

1 OdpowiedźIf someone wants to play Crucible , play it . If not , don't have to . All it is , is another option to open up gameplay . PVP/PVE . Unless you want a nifty colored Sparrow to make Legendary , you don't need it . I hated Crucible . I was averaging in at 1-2 kills .02 a looong time. Then I met 2 awesome players that was an EPIC match for it's own reasons . We play together now. I have been determined to catch up to them and ( average ) get on 13-18 kills at .8-1.5 now . Not the greatest at all , but instead of ALWAYS being on the bottom at 6th, I'm in 3rd , sometimes 2nd . I still have crappy ones t the bottom especially when I get thrown into a match that's almost over. (I hate that sh*t) Now I almost always just do Crucible . I'm havin fun . My 2 friends always outgun my kills and I get stuck w assists but , it's cool Aerial_Collision is in the top 4% , and Reap200 is top 9% of like 9.5 million people. Even just in the last month I got better than about 500,000 people . I still kinda suck but I'm gettin my $ out of it . You don't need to play PVP if u don't like it . It's just there as an option if you do . Oh yea , FREE B ROBOT!!!

9 OdpowiedziIf you enjoy farming i feel sorry for you. Because you must have such a dull sad life if farming is actually exciting for you. Id have more fun plucking hairs from my head. Bungie introducing trading marks for mats is the best thing since sliced bread.

So stop trolling the topics with things that dont concern you. But wait a sec it will affect you. Cause all the farmers that dont want to play crucible and are being forced to will be on your team in pvp afking. And just walking in circles. Blinding you with solar grenades and making you lose. PVE players now can only purchase from ONE vendor whereas PVP players can purchase from all. Kinda one sided I think. Not to mention that PVP players can get twice the weekly marks than PVE. 200 Vanguard and 200 Crucible. Yeah. It's one sided.

3 OdpowiedziI agree totally. . The patch was awesome except for this. Farming is a massive part of my gameplay and the fun I have with this game. I like crucible but way too laggy and get kicked too much. I enjoy farming while doing my bountys. 3 public events, patrol missions etc. I found myself afk while waiting for public events last night. Not like any point farming now. And the hundreds of mats in my stash? Worthless! I see alot of posts from people saying "farming is boring and crucible better" thats all well and good for you. But for people who would prefer to farm rather than do pvp. Or mix it up half/half we have no choices.

1 OdpowiedźFrom day one you could do this and it wasn't game breaking or affected gameplay at all. I don't enjoy pvp for many reasons but in order to get weapons that had specific damage types I needed to rank up 4 out of the 5 vendors that took crucible marks.Since farming is so tedious they changed things so you can now buy them, great.But for other players that used this to do 3 or 4 things at once now we are pretty much stuck doing a part of the game to acquire goods we were told would never be locked behind a certain play style. Instead of ignorance we should all support how people want to play.
