Light 30 should only be available from Raid
I've worked hard at VoG to get to 30 and now u can get +30 gear from Iron Banner. Doesn't seem right. When the expansion comes out with new raid, is there a point in doing it? Or should I just wait till Iron Banner type event happens and get gear from there?

Grinding out wins in crucible will take longer than doing a 1 1/2 hour raid every week. I also don't get why more 30s is bad for you in a group based game. You would think you would want your team mates be be a higher level... This whole "raid should be the only way to get to 30" bullshit is... bullshit.

You still need the raid. Just only either a chest or head piece if you get both legs and gauntlets from the iron banner.

I disagree. People in iron banner have worked just as hard in VoG to get 30. Iron banner is just an event to try and correct the horrible rng in VoG.

I feel it is fair because I have done VOG 30 times and got only three pieces of raid gear across three characters... Some people just are not as luck as you. I do however, have 10 mythoclasts. All I get is weapons, so I have a different kind of luck.

Well since you bring that up, what about the expansion for lvl 32. Just raid only?

So there should only be one guaranteed way to hit level 30? People complain about everyone looking the same from raid gear. IB gear makes this a little better. PvP players need a way to hit level 30. RNG can be a fickle mistress. Plus as some have previously said, you still need atleast one Raid piece, even with both IB gear and an exotic. Bungie is also helping players prepare for The Dark Below and it's level 32 content. For each level you are under the mission level, it decreases your effectiveness by 20-30%. RNG will still be a big factor in the upcoming raid and stuff anyhow.
