Pretty sure it said that Xbox 360 could transfer to Xbox one and ps3 would transfer to ps4.

Currently, I do not believe there is a way to transfer your characters between consoles of different families (i.e., from a Sony platform to a Microsoft platform). The point is that by July, they had already clarified this for both the full game and the beta, which also had this transferable ability. We've known for a while that your guardians are tied to your gaming account, which is tangentially linked to bungie.net, and that means you may transfer your characters between consoles as long as they also use that same gaming account.
