Don't rank up with Cryptarch!
When the patch goes live all legendary engrams will be legendary or better. When you rank up with the Cryptarch you often get a legendary engram or two. Thus free legendaries/exotics patch day. Save your engrams!
The goal is to save as many engrams as possible then come patch day you rank up with the cryptarch 2 or 3 times and get those legendary engrams in the mail which will in fact be legendary or better items.

My cryptarch Mail packages got wiped" posts when the update happens. Or "all of the legendary engrams in my vault are blues!". Seriously your best bet is to just not risk it, unless you want to. In my opinion at least.

I made a post a day ago about this and everyone was like didnt u read what they said it's not gonna work, umm yea that's y I'm not taking my mail so it won't be in my inventory just yet :) I have 2 so far working on my third...do what ya want bit to me I'm pretty sure I'm right and if I'm not oh well not a big deal anyways I never get anything good!

This is all assuming the drop and/or reward rates will remain the same after the patch. If purple engrams guarantee purple, expect I see a whole lot less of them, even as rewards.

I read that if you download the patch and have any engrams that haven't been decrypted in your Inventory, they will all turn to blue. I don't know what happens to your cryptard packages if they are left unclaimed until patch day, but I don't like the chances of them being there after install.

2 OdpowiedziSave all your blues! Not purple. Then with all the BLUE you saved up level your Cryptarch to get new legendary after the patch. I think this is what the original poster is talking about.

Any engrams befor the update are still random you still get blues from legendaries so use them dont save them they'll be worthless

Rank up like normal just don't collect your mail from postmaster until after patch
