I've never been so hyped up for a game, just to be let down so hard. Here's the TL;DR version of my thoughts on Destiny. Repetitive confusing grind fest. Every story/strike mission has the same formula, protect your ghost for 3 waves. The story straight up sucks and doesn't tell you much. And the game past level 20 is a constant grind fest of content you experienced as you leveled. Grinding is not fun, especially when all the missions are the same. Loot is completely RNG based which is the most annoying thing about this game. Bosses don't even drop loot, I'm not saying we should have a guaranteed upgrade every time we kill a boss, but something other than glimmer that's actually useful would be nice. Also, no proximity chat.. its like they completely ignored everything people complained about since alpha. The social aspect of this game they pushed so hard is just not there and other players might as well be walking npcs.
I paid 60 bucks for this game, so I really wanna love it, I really do. Someone please convince me as to why I should not get trade this game in.

Your loss. Move on.

Merp. Yes it seems really repetitive. I'm hoping more free! Content will be added. The storyline is bad, but as long as your challenging yourself with the strikes it's interesting. I'm just really hoping for more content or I think this will end up a bust. I don't see myself playing often after I reach lvl 25 and everyone else is too...
-
Did you play any of the Halo games?
-
It's your choice man,if you feel like you don't like it then trade it in
-
The problem may be though that you'll trade it in for a few bucks, and bungie may fix problems and add more content, as it is an always online game which means its most likely going to be constantly updating. If it gets to the point when you regret trading it in then you'll feel it. But I say maybe put it down for a bit, play something else and come back.
-
I understand this exact gripe. I've played WoW, Diablo, Dark Souls, shooters of all kinds, etc. I know just about every angle this could be compared to. I do enjoy the game from a mechanic standpoint. But if you think this is a lot of content for 60 dollars you're kidding yourself. Late game it seems like the easiest way to get gear with enough light is to AFK farm Crucible, -blam!-s PvP up for everyone else. In PvE, you can run strikes for 3 hours and PROBABLY get one gear drop with a better light value than anything you've already got. Not guaranteed, obviously. But guns? You get a SHITLOAD of those. Too many guns and not enough armor. The drop tables are -blam!-ed up. But this is an even bigger issue because the only hope for this game, end-game wise, comes in monthly updates. This new raid, for example, requires a certain gear score to run. This gear score seems so far away and many other factors create a feeling like you've hit a wall. All of this combined with the fact that you're playing one of 4 stikes with awful droprates is nothing but frustrating for those who are trying to make it for the first raid. Don't even get me started on the 100 marks a week cap. That's two full weeks for a set of legendary gear that will be outdated by the time the 2nd week is over. I have hope for Bungies ability to make edits, but their reaction speed doesn't seem very fast. They seem to be more focused on catering to the "everyone's a winner" mentality while grabbing as much cash as possible.

If you don't like it, then don't play it. It's that simple. You don't have to whine on the forums about it, just sell it.
-
Dude, the best thing to do right now is decide whether you want to play a bit further and wait for Bungie to introduce new content. If you're really that fed up with the game, then of course don't keep it. But if you can just wait and see what happens in the near future for this franchise, then i don't think it's wrong to keep it. Because Bungie obviously hyped and marketed this game to the highest point, now they have seen exceptionally poor comments from gamers, low score from a number of critics and they're aware that their game might have made money but can't sustain in its current state. I presume they're not going to just let the game fizzle out this quick. I mean seriously man it hasn't been even a week yet. I would say just wait and see what Bungie comes up with.

8 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Deathklad: 9/14/2014 2:27:48 AMSeriously shut up amd sell yor game and leave. I'm tired of hearing rhis shit every day while bustin my ass atwork and wanting to play. Ungrateful maggots cant enjoy life.

If you don't enjoy the game, sell it. Why do you need the approval or disapproval of this forum?
-
1 OdpowiedźIf you decide to trade-in the game, be sure to do so before the trade-in value drops. The game sold exceptionally well, but it has also disappointed an exceptional number of people. Now, their disappointment is confirmed by poor critical reviews. Furthermore, Destiny is a short game, so even those who are not disappointed will also be looking to trade-in soon. Remember that there are a LOT of new releases coming up so used Destiny games will start piling up at Gamestop.

4 OdpowiedziIt's great fun except the loot system. They need to lower the chances of getting legendary engrams, but when u do get them, they are guaranteed to give u a legendary item.
-
All grinding is repetitive...and if it confuses you..you're pretty stupid.

8 Odpowiedziwhat i like to think of destiny is: This entire game, the story especially, is only a tutorial for the later games. i was satisfied for beating it and after realizing, there's still so much to the story they could have put in destiny but didn't. like i said, this first's game's campaign is best to be looked at as a tutorial and i still cant wait for further updates and content. have fun!

5 OdpowiedziAs I tell problematic customers at my store, "we don't need your attitude and we don't need your business. There's the door."
-
5 OdpowiedziPersonally, I love the game, but if you just complain like this all the time, I strongly suggest trading in your game for the benefit of those of us who don't want to here your whining.

2 OdpowiedziStory - not so great. Game play and endgame content - amazing

7 OdpowiedziWhenever I read these threads, all I see is "Wah wah wah, I hate this game coz it's boring and it's too easy to beat and it's not like cod and it's like halo and blah." I've finished the story. I'm still playing. There's so much to do. Get some friends and play crucible and try to out-do each other. Get that awesome legendary or exotic gear. Don't be so linear, for crying out loud. I bet you're the type of person that goes to a restaurant and orders the same damn thing every time.

Not all of the game involves defending for three waves, although three is the most common number of things to defeat all the way to the end so far. Three bosses this mission, three waves this part, three things to defend for public events, etc, but it's not all like that. Would it be better if they just made you stall while you have to fight an undisclosed amount of enemies with no idea how far you were progressing through it or literally give you invisible walls that force you to fight or doors that unlock for unknown reasons after you've defeated enough enemies? It's like a standard mechanic to make you fight enemies without allowing you to skip them or progress. I don't know what else you could've wanted to stall you other than not telling you how long or maybe doing the same exact thing but with a different "objective" to it....such as the ghost trying to hunt for an exit or something but it still functions identically in the end.

1 OdpowiedźI just read through a good chunk of the posts here. With the amount of success the Halo universe has received it is understandable that people would be extremely hyped for a new game with a similar nature. I do feel that the game was made this way with new content being realeased periodically so one would feel rewarded for being a loyal player. With Halo giving you whole chapters at a time with a beginning, middle, and closure for each this game gives you paragraphs meant to keep you more involved until you arrive at a final closing of the story arc. This is just the beginning of a new journey. Not just my words, but the words of the very creators of this game. It seems that a lot of people were looking for that instant gratification you get with most games, but a war is not won with just one battle. I may be completely wrong. But as I said, I read through a lot of this post and thats the general feeling I get from it. No, I have not completed this game yet. There may not be much replayability as many thought for this story so far, but then again I feel that was intentional. Please feel free to tell me your thoughts and opinions, as I know you will. Thanks.

8 OdpowiedziFor those of you complaining about running out of content: Get a job please. With a full days work and a wifey, this game offers more than enough content. The story is confusing, I admit, as sometimes I feel as if I am saving a whole city of people I never get to interact with, but hey, I just imagine it :D. And if you have ever played and type of any classic mmorpg ever, you will realize that this game's format meets that type of players hunger and knowledge capacity, while also seamlessly integrating a Halo like shooter. It's like heaven on a disc, and Bungie has nothing but time to add more content, so please, go to school or cook dinner or something.
-
Yeah I've played to much borderlands so I'm burnt out on grinding, like forever. And they really need I remove the limit, 1 piece of gear a week is going to get very frustrating and it's like a 1/100 odds you'll actually get really good gear from pvp, strikes or anything else
-
Im enjoying it but i have to say, theres no content. Every planet is super small.
