I've never been so hyped up for a game, just to be let down so hard. Here's the TL;DR version of my thoughts on Destiny. Repetitive confusing grind fest. Every story/strike mission has the same formula, protect your ghost for 3 waves. The story straight up sucks and doesn't tell you much. And the game past level 20 is a constant grind fest of content you experienced as you leveled. Grinding is not fun, especially when all the missions are the same. Loot is completely RNG based which is the most annoying thing about this game. Bosses don't even drop loot, I'm not saying we should have a guaranteed upgrade every time we kill a boss, but something other than glimmer that's actually useful would be nice. Also, no proximity chat.. its like they completely ignored everything people complained about since alpha. The social aspect of this game they pushed so hard is just not there and other players might as well be walking npcs.
I paid 60 bucks for this game, so I really wanna love it, I really do. Someone please convince me as to why I should not get trade this game in.

"I've never been so hyped up for a game" *sigh*

2 OdpowiedziI still feel like the Social aspect is there. I have a couple new people on my friend list from Destiny, and I talk to them on my mic now. But I added them based on performance, and that's why they added me. For me, that's pretty much perfect. That way, I don't have to sift through countless conversations going on in the tower, or screaming angry people (of all ages) in the crucible or in the field. I know I could mute them, but instead of muting a ton of people, I invite a few people and have a blast.
-
Why would we care to convince you? Get over yourself.
-
Valid point on the Chat. It is a muted game.
-
If you don't enjoy it, trade it in. In my opinion this game is awesome :)
-
3 Odpowiedzido it, trade it in, sick of people coming on the forums and complaining about it, if you don't like it you don't like it, i'd rather be playing people who love the game as much as I do as to someone who'd just complain every time something went wrong

The game is less than a week old. Give Bungie some time to work on these issues first before making your decision. A lot of the things you've said here are being felt by a lot of people in the community. I want to see a lot of the problems fixed to but I'm waiting to see if Bungie listens to their community or ignores them before making mine. BF4 was forced out early by EA and had a lot of technical problems on release but Dice continued working on them. It may have taken 9+ updates but I don't have those problems anymore. If you like the idea of what Destiny is trying to do, give it a chance. If not then trade it in.
-
Good. Go trade it in and close your Bungie.net account and LEAVE. We don't care how disappointed you are.

3 OdpowiedziHopping on the hype train is almost as dumb as console wars. Those are the two worst things about gaming :/
I paid 60 bucks for this game
lol I paid $157 (that's with tax) for the Ghost Edition. I love this game though. I will agree with everyone on the story and it's lack-there-of but that's what future installments are for. Personally, I can't wait to see more of this game and it's universe (or Lore, which ever you use).

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. It's rather sad how some can be so emotional over a video game. I have purchased countless video games in my life time, some I didn't enjoy. You know what I did? I just stopped playing it, and got a new one that I may enjoy more. Maybe that's because I'm a mature, healthy, grow adult. Not once in my life would I cry and whine about a video game on a forum...
-
If I recall Gamestop is offering forty bucks for it on trade.

2 Odpowiedzi
And the game past level 20 is a constant grind fest of content you experienced as you leveled
I don't know, I'm only level 18 and I still haven't finished Venus. I have 2 more missions, the strike and Patrol to so. So I should hit level 20 on the next planet (if not by the time I hit the Strike mission on Venus) and by the time I am done I'll be Light Leveling during the Strike Playlist

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika ShizRizGrizDiz: 9/14/2014 12:13:51 PMFor a $60 game, it has more content at launch than 95% of any other console game. In a year, itll be the largest console game there is currently. And you should have known Bungie was going for the All online MMO aspect where you grind for shit. This isnt your normal FPS CoD or BF or Halo. If the game didnt meet your expectations, simply return it and dont post your 2 year old whiny CoD rage kid shit on here. I bet you do play CoD or BF or Halo? Dont you technically 'grind' xp to level up in multiplayer? Get rekt kid.

The game is gonna be pretty trash for a long time. You can force yourself through it, but id say trade it in, or sit on it for a year or two.
-
So you've poured dozens of hours into this game and you haven't gotten your 60 bucks worth? Man, sad for you. You must've not gone out, bathed or had to work at all. Maybe you should take a break, walk around, work up a sweat and get some endorphins pumping. Sounds like you've got a generally crappy life and you sadly are wanting a video game to solve all your problems. Put down the controller, pick up a book and expand your mind.

8 Odpowiedziwow, only 6 days and already ebay is full of traded in copies of the title for 2/3 of the price.. a very good indicator that there is something foul on this title.. nawd bad...
-
Ok, bye.

4 OdpowiedziI'm keeping mine because I want achievements and I want to see how the DLC is. Probably stuff held back from the base version of the game.

8 OdpowiedziRule #329 of Gaming: NEVER fall for hype. Only a few games have lived up to it.
-
Why don't you drive to Gamestop and get even closer. The game doesn't need complainers such as yourself. Trade it in and go back to Battlefield.
-
Your decision seems clear. You don't like it so trade it in. Clearly people don't listen to bungie when they talk about their plans for this game. We won't miss you.
-
Explore a bit maybe instead of getting a max character +2 others

Its why I don't hype myself up for games, because I know I'll never be disappointed. I never really followed Destiny, but I looked forward to it. Pre-ordered gaurdian edition a few months ago, and just waited. Never got hyped up, never watched any interviews. Played the beta, enjoyed it. I'm happy with my purchase, but not blown away. If you don't enjoy the game, there's no reason for you to play it. Video games are for having fun, right? If you ain't having fun, there's not much a point to it. I honestly would recommend holding on to it for a little while, because they might add something significant that makes you want to come back. But hey, its your choice.
