1 OdpowiedźI'm going to take this post seriously despite my better judgement. How is "violent" defined? I could say that Mario is violent because he kills turtles. Killing small animals is, after all, usually an early stage for serial killers. So you better have a pretty clear definition of violent. Or does a certain group have the power to determine which games are violent? The ESRB perhaps? Or the FCC? Or some new group established as a result of this? You may have heard the term "Iron Triangles" used in reference to the relationship between government and military contractors. If you give a certain group the power to decide the power to determine which games are appropriate and which ones aren't, you'll essentially be creating weaker versions of those "Iron Triangles," let's call them "Tin Triangles." Activision or Bethesda may not have the resources of Boeing or Lockheed Martin, but that won't stop them from influencing the decisions to make sure that kids can buy and play their games. Another issue is enforcement. How is the government going to know if the children are playing these games? How can they be sure who is playing, especially in families where multiple people share the same account? Will they put monitoring software in all game consoles. People won't like that. Will they force game consoles to have some sort of camera plugged in at all times? People won't like that, either. Even if they find someone who is playing this game, what will be the penalty? After all, 100% of transgressions will be commuted by minors. Or will the parents be penalized? What if they didn't know that their child was playing the game. Is it their responsibility to make sure their children follow the rules? Are we essentially putting video games on the same level as alcohol and tobacco? You see all the holes in your proposal.

If you read government statistics they show that with the increase in violent movies/tv/video games the rate of violent crime per people in the U.S. has actually gone down. It is just that with all the info from the internet and tv it makes it seem like its going up. It is the same with the statistics on race, murder, and police brutality. It's something like in the .00005% chance that a black individual is murdered there is only a 7% chance that the murderer is white. You are more likely to get a gjallerhorn. Also remember seeing stats on police brutality. The actual chance of someone suffering policy brutality is something akin to the chances of them being mauled by a bear, but the media makes it seem like it is some prevalent thing always happening.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika abelsinh: 3/19/2015 6:56:23 PMI won't be surprised if this actually is taken seriously. You Yanks are crazy. EDIT:
When a child shrieks into the microphone and an adult is present in the game, the decible level of the child's voice triggers an instinctual rush of adrenaline in the adult. This can induce swearing, violent thoughts, the desire to hurt animals, and in some cases, cardiac arrest.
I lol'd loudly.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Cool Pretzel: 3/19/2015 6:48:33 PMThe article makes a point of a child attacking somebody and expecting money to pop out. Somebody that's 15 will not do that. I'd understand a limit on the level of violence (however that limit would be established) on somebody under 7. 17 is ridiculous.

Destiny is only rated T for teen
