I'm sorry, but this opinion article has freaking LOADS of errors.
For a start off, Destiny is not an MMO. It has some MMO features but it is definitely not an MMO.
Why not an MMO? Well, did you see more than 50 people in the tower or in the Cosmodrome? Nope? But there were hundreds of thousands of players online on the Saturday... So where were they? Split up over numerous servers of course so that it wouldn't lag the place to hell and back.
MMOs usually shove each geographic area into a single shard or in the case of Eve Online they shoved them all into one. THAT is an MMO. Massively Multiplayer. Not Thirty Or So Multiplayer.
So why is this good for Destiny? Well, do you want everyone shooting the enemies you are going after? It still happens but not so much. It makes it feel populated yet not over much. In fact I only ever got a lag spike when moving from one area to another and even then it only happened when I went into and out of the rocketyards on my S-22 Cavalier.
Looking at what the guy wrote it is clear he didn't give the game a chance and pretty much had his view set in stone even before playing....
Worst... Review... EVER!

1 OdpowiedźThis maybe just my inner fan-boy talking, but I think a large chunk of the gaming media have been off about this game. Saying things that show they havn't spent the time necessary to understand some elements. Or saying the game is at fault for their lack of skill. I guess it could be to stir some traffic. Or is it just me?

That reviewer rustles my jimmies.
-
What did I just read? Most stupid review of destiny I have seen so far.
-
He says Borderlands 2 did story better? What. Did. I. Just. Read.
-
This was a horrible review... The only thing he was right about was the "Wow" factor. The whole beta experience was exciting and fun but we had a heads up on what we were gonna see before hand so nothing rely shocked us. Truth is, no game lives up to the hype anymore but we still haven't got a taste of the full game.

Pretty sure the guy who wrote this works for EA.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika aboniks: 8/7/2014 2:35:16 AMThe vast majority of this swirling PR shitstorm that we find ourselves engulfed in is just clickbait for the publishers. Most of it is copy and paste from ign anyway. Having a "controversial" opinion simply sets this tool apart from the rest of the top 50 google results. It's just the vultures jostling for a chunk of the ad revenue, nothing else to it. Every single one of us who just visited that site without an adblocker and an analytics blocker paid part of that guys salary and encouraged him to write more of that crap.

1 OdpowiedźIf it takes you half an hour to do either of the bosses in House of Devils, you're not doing it right.

3 OdpowiedziWhere the hell did they get MMO since the game is obviously have some FPS features but there is a specific genre for destiny but forgot what it is Lol
-
Gamersheroes.com? Why would you even read that shit?

The author of the article needed attention. The only way to get noticed was to bash something with a lot of media attention....nah

Possibly you never know before launch

2 OdpowiedziThe only disappointing thing about Destiny is that it has now ruined the entire month of August this year. Assholes.

4 OdpowiedziI roasted this crap article on n4g. Its just dumb. Destiny is basically an mmo. Leveling for gear, strikes, raids, the social aspects. In that regard it does certain things worse than an mmo. Like how theres no in game clan/guild support, or proximity chat with a mute option, but it's not out yet and im sure it can improve.
-
Never heard of the site, should any1 care...nah

Does this guy not realize the first dungeon was for level 6? What the -blam!- did he expect? Garosh hellscream mechanics? This guys an idiot in the first place for thinking Destiny would be a true MMO with everyone on the same server. Nah I don't want that and don't care for that in destiny. When I'm exploring I want the player encounter to be small but numerous enough to let me know I'm not alone in the world. Also I like exploring by myself and I think he wanted the game to be on a scale of Azeroth.. Again.. That's really -blam!-in hard to do with the beautiful engine that built destiny. Maybe 5 or 6 years down the road we'll see the true open world, every thing in sight explorable model. But for now it's just as is, Destiny. And it's going to be an amazing game.

You know what's strange, is that someone reviews a whole unreleased game just by playing a beta that lasted a few days.
-
4 OdpowiedziAnd will Neomorph be the biggest dumba$$ of 2014?????? Probably........

Remember guys! This is how writers get recognition in a saturated field. They write something controversial and get a bunch of us to read & comment on it. Looks great on their resume
-
To all cry babies don't buy this game if that's all u do we don't want ppl like u.destiny will be a great ass game.

4 OdpowiedziFun games this year are going to be destiny, advanced warfare, and AC unity

Bungie never even said it was an MMO. If the game is so bad to you why the hell are you even here? Go play another great game franchise like CoD kid
CoD is actually shit it was sarcasm
6 OdpowiedziWhile he didn't write well and so many people keep calling Destiny an MMO when it is not, a lot of what he said, I could agree with. Boss mechanics were lame, the classes do pretty much play the same "at the beginning" and story so far was nothing compared with other shooters with each mission lasting 20 minutes as best with maybe 10 lines of dialog while you play. Thankful some cut scenes were added this time around for the beta. One question I am still researching for the game is what is there to do after the story is finished for the non-hardcore player. Game focuses on getting to the raid after the story is done with the goal to get the good gear to do the raid. Consensus seems to be it is only for about 10 to 20% of the player base. So what do the other 80-90% of players do with the game after story mode? It could be a huge disappointment for a lot of players if there isn't anything to shoot for.
