Ok, I loved the Destiny Beta and I am really looking forward to the full release of the game. However, there is one thing I wanted to mention. Should the Hunter cape/cloak, the Titan sash, and the Warlock armband have a bonus tied to them? I am just upset that all of my armor has a bonus but my personal gear is just for show? Huh?
Ok, this is what I was thinking; keep it nice and simple. Only the 3 cool down abilities should be tied to your class specific gear. If I'm not mistaken this is how it works...
Intelligence=super
Agility=grenade
Strength=melee
So when I have my Warlock band on it's not just for swag but also gives me +10 agility or something like that.
What do you guys think?

1 OdpowiedźI think this was avoid for 1 big reason. That particular piece of armor (Cloak, Buttcape, Armband) is meant to be purely aesthetic. In a world where people will equip anything, no matter how ugly, to get that extra Umph! Not having an effect crates the purpose of art, of glam, of individualization. For instance I may become a super-bad*** hunter, but I will always be seen in a ragged, tattered cloak that signifies my Wanderer/Ranger direction.

As a Hunter, I looked at the level 20 capes for the PVP factions, And their bonuses allow players to redirect points from crucible into their faction, specifically speaking, towards their favor, so that allocated points go towards their gear. That was cool enough for me, but if you're referring to other bonuses, then it would have to be unique to each class. And pretty badass.

I love this idea, but the only problem is that if it gets out if hand and it make a certain class OP-ed and then everyone starts using that class...

As it is, if I'm a Hunter, I might have excellent armor, but maybe I'd like to go without a hood for a while. I can always wear the starting cape, which does not have a hood over my head/helmet, without losing anything. I may like an uncommon [wolf cape/hood] better than my [legendary shocking pink] one, but the legendary one halves my super abillity charging time, then I'd need to wear it just for convenience. Since everything else has bonuses, I'd like to keep class items as they are (I think they add no bonuses, except for many of them looking totally bad-ass).

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Lord Jallace: 8/3/2014 1:47:49 AMNo Its a Cosmetic so you can build rep with factions not make you choose Between stats.
-
I like them being cosmetic better. After all, who wants to be forced to wear a gaudy cape when the one with worse stats looks better. And even if they're all equal, then the rest of your armor would have to be weaker to compensate for the boost given by the class item.
-
9 OdpowiedziNot to be rude but NO the reason that they haven't got stats is beucause you are supossed to chose the one that looks best to you. It's to make your guardian more personal

Yes they should!
-
Yes, but only on higher quality gear. And even then, it should provide an effect, not raw stat increases (i.e. +20 Strength). I'd like a "calm under fire" or "scavenger - finds more ammo" types of buffs.

1 OdpowiedźI really don't understand why they don't have no stats I find it weird :(

Glad i found this. I almost started the same exact poll. I would like to see bonuses for the class item. Bungie could keep it focused in a way that each item only carries bonuses for something specific to that class and/or subclass. Say if you find one you really like the look of and its bonus is for the defender subclass on a titan, but youve been a striker the whole time. This would give you the choice of expanding your play style a bit if you wanted to use that really good looking class item.....
-
I could see them adding "light" maybe. Are there exotic ones? If you have to unequip another armor, I'd hope it did something. I like the idea of actual choice and not having to be "statistical" with it.
-
That or a skill cooldown modifier, or certain weapons do more damage bonus... I agree that they should have some ability boost, even if it's just a 1-3% boost in the magority of the cases, it would seem less redundant that "look! it's white with blue bits!"
-
I agree. Don't limit it either. I'd love to have a Titan mark that boosted my weapons impact.
-
It should just be a boost to the thing your character is good at for example: Titan get armour boost because titans have the highest armour, Hunter would get Agilitly boost, And Warlock gets recovery boost

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Chocomcbo: 8/3/2014 1:20:59 AMNo. Why would class specific armour give bonuses? Its already SPECIFIC to a certain class. Ita not as if all armour is worn by thr same class, but if a hunter wears it he gets a bonus. Also its; Intelect reduces super cooldown Stregnth is melee cooldown Discipline is grenade cooldown
