21 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Dooodley: 8/1/2014 11:05:18 PMHere's the kicker, the elitist raid veterans who are against MM are foremost (strictly?) MMO'ers. Some of them might be good at FPS'es too but generally I'd guess that they're better at controlling a keyboard - and in some cases clicking :P - than using a controller. So are these really the people who should put themselves on pedestals and tell others what they can and cannot do? Odds are that an organized MLG team will have much more success in these raids - and that's pretty ironic since they're probably PvP'ing instead.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Celer Umbra: 8/2/2014 1:14:58 AMThat is fine, I can understand the turn off but I still enjoy it. You can stick with your daily and monthly nightfall events for strange coins and collect loot from the special vendor (Xer I think???).
-
Nightfall missions will still be there to bridge the gap of challenge and OMFG. Im excited for ALL of it
BLAM YOU AUGUST!
-
You types are why games are stupidly easy now a days. Only time I enjoy a game is when it's difficult.
-
2 OdpowiedziYeah they sound kinda interesting to me, but I'm not about to spend 16 straight hours doing a mission

4 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Lovell: 8/2/2014 12:27:40 AMThen don't play them scrub.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Snicklebits: 8/2/2014 12:19:40 AMI highly doubt anything will be very hard in this game, thus nothing should take that long to complete. This is a shooter, not mmorpg. In mmorpgs you have tons of skills and different classes. This game each class is different, but they all just shoot guns, not that different in the big picture. So you can't add that much of a strategy element to it. Dont worry, raids will be easy if your team can aim.
-
Bungie wanted the game to cater to several class of players. The ones who love PvP. Others who love PvE. Ones who like to matchmake gets strikes and Nightfall missions. Others who like to have a more structured team get Raids. If you don't think it is a fun activity you don't HAVE to do it. I'm not a fan of the PvP because I am getting old and my twitch response is slowing down and partial colour blindness makes it tough to identify the enemy. But I'm really looking forward to doing Raids... Seems to me that the ones who are moaning about the Raids are those who can't be ar$ed about putting some effort into getting a clan together. I've had several clans requesting me since the beta... and I wasn't even trying. Oh and one final point... Destiny is NOT an MMO.

5 OdpowiedziGood thing there is so much to do in this game. People can choose what they want to play and avoid what they don't.
-
Who the -blam!- has 16 hours to run a raid..
-
2 OdpowiedziI on the other hand await it eagerly. I remember doing that last mission in halo 3 using all those skulls and stuff to get that achievement... (I cant remember what its called) but that was super fun even though it took 3 hours.
-
6 OdpowiedziIt's simple, don't play the f*cking raid. There your stupid problem solved
-
2 OdpowiedziAhh come on, Raids will drive a huge great division down the community and foster pointless forum arguments forever. It's all part of the fun. Remember no matter how good you are if you don't raid you will forever be a crap, noob, casual. And if you do Raid you will forever be a fail at life, basement dwelling virgin ;D I've done my Raiding in other games. It ends up feeling like a job. So I'm out on that but like you say as long as I can put time in and earn my gear in other ways I don't mind. After all however you play it boils down to time spent be it Raiding or Grinding. I hope they put super cool gear at the bottom of all game modes.
-
What exactly are Raids anyway? There's been so many people talking about them but I don't actually know what they are. Are they like the Strike thing from the Beta?
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Enigmatech: 8/1/2014 11:41:54 PMI've heard from MoreConsole that the Vault of Glass takes way more than 16 hours to complete if you even get that far. What happens when someone quits or disconnects, do the other players keep going or get booted back to orbit? (I'm gonna keep asking til someone at Bungie clears that up)
-
In the IGN interview they said the raid starts at one level, and each section of the raid gears you up for the next section. This pretty much confirms that raids are segmented and it will likely be possible to tackle each segment individually.
-
That's fine. That's just one aspect of the game. Hope you enjoy the rest.
-
Why not put in the option to choose MM or make your own team? Would be a better for both parties.
-
2 Odpowiedzijust like the overall size and scope of destiny, i think th e difficulty of raids are over hyped..
-
It's a game, meant to be fun, not a chore. You just need to find people to do the raids with that don't take it so seriously.

2 OdpowiedziI get your concerns and all bro, But this end game content gives a lot of replay value to the game aside from the crucible and daily normal missions that may or may not be updated regularly. Put it this way, you blew through literally everything you could. You have fun in the crucible here and there. But there's that one thing everyone's aspiring to complete. Many will try and many will fail. A good part Is that I believe any loot You find while trying is actually kept at least. You wont get final rewards though unless you complete it. The amount of hours depends how long you try for and if you even ultimately defeat the challenge. Sure, it sounds like a commitment. But that one long holiday weekend coming up, sounds like it's gonna be even more fun supposing you got some friends to attempt the raid with. Even if you don't beat it, even if you spent 4 hours just to say -blam!- this shits to hard let's chill out with some explore or hit up the crucible.... You still tried. And the loot drops you did happen to find stayed in your inventory. Hopefuly, granting you a little more luck on your next journey there. Raids aren't an everyday thing for all gamers. Myself included. I got too much crap to deal with...and I'm often times tired as shit to even aim well in an fps game. But that one holiday coming up....Christmas shut down...You bet I'll be seeing if any cool people on these forums is down to play with this lone wolf and see how things pan out in explore shortly before we attempt that end level content. The less I can play the longer a games life span normally is for me anyways. Luckily, I know I'm not the only one here with a job and all that other stuff in my life. Sounds like this games gonna be long in my case. In which I'm happy to partake in the journey.

Hey SlateD56. I respect your decision to skip end-game content if it doesn't sound to your forte. This subject actually touches on something I was considering posting myself, namely the difference between player types and creating levels of activities that can serve the needs of the full population demographic. See, I've spent too much time on video games. By nature, PVE challenges are repetitive and formulaic. So after a certain amount of exposure to them, you can become very good at the various nuances required to easily overcome any challenge. People like me, regardless of their innate 'skill', eventually hit the point where almost all PVE content can feel watered down. I think it's important that both of our demographics receive content that's stimulating to us. I want content that is brutal. Dark Souls brutal. I want my ass handed to me if I make a mistake. I'm okay with that because that's the point I've hit as a gamer. The only touchy subject that comes here is gear availability. Should more effort and tackling harder content yield better rewards? Yes. Otherwise the player incentive and progression models go out the window. So while I agree there should be content for your demographic, I'm going to say people who can and will tackle tougher challenges like myself should receive proper compensation. That's just the way risk vs. reward works. PS: Not that gear actually matters in PVP. So we have that level playing field.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Sky Sweeper: 8/1/2014 9:35:06 PMHense where the term "casual" comes from... I think it would be dumb for raids NOT to have raid-specific gear, because why else would people put themselves through the challenge? yes, a few are going to do it for the challenge's sake, but most want it for the reward at the end. if it's something that you could acquire some other way, why would people bother raiding and putting so much time in to get it? That's the whole point of the loot - I accomplished this, and got this to show i did so. It's like a trophy.
-
So don't play the raid and enjoy the modes you enjoy.
-
I hope the loot is raid specific. What would be the point of raiding if you don't get some special loot that's only available to us raiders.
-
Dark souls. . . Nuff said.
