Before or after the apocalypse?
Ok so lets say a near world ending apocalypse happened. Would you rather have lived through it and know the full extent of what was lost or would you rather have been born afterwards?
I think I'd want to be born afterwards because I'm sure there would be a huge mental struggle that you'd have to live with for the rest of your life.
Lets say the apocalypse was nuclear but all radiation has passed. The world is destroyed and must be rebuilt.

Before, to withhold the knowledge to pass on, and record, a way to preserve the past. Also I would more likely have a higher expectation and ability than those post-apocalypse. To preserve knowledge would be my driving force
