Why can't we equip Kinetic weapons in the light weapon slot?
Though the power slot hasn't changed, the other two slots are now divided between dark and light weapons (with exceptions ofc) and not "Kinetic" and "Energy". Given this distinction, I think I should be able to equip a kinetic weapon in either the dark or light weapon slot. This feels outdated and I honestly think this should have been changed when Lightfall dropped.

Yeah, sounds good to me! I'd also like the idea of being able to switch the order as well; currently darkness is the primary slot and light is the secondary slot, but the way the whole system works there is no meaningful reason to do so... so why not let us switch light to primary and darkness to secondary. Even if I'm running double special, there's one that I'll be 'primarily' using... if that was arc, it would be great for it to be top slot. It would make a lot of sense for equips like a solar hand cannon and a stasis sniper, for example. You could keep the whole system exactly how it is... kinetics are designed to fill the same inventory slot, fill the same space in collections/vault, but allow kinetics to be dragged between the two slots. You could also then allow the whole slot to be dragged up or down (between the two). Could be the easiest route, although I'm sure a lot of work would still be required.
