About a week and a half ago, I noticed someone changing sound settings when I'd log on for my daily D2 time. Days later, I was issued PVP bans/warnings even though I'm a strictly PVE player.
I changed my Steam PW. Problems solved, right? Wrong! Next was a small number of missing vault items used to buff some PVP God Roles that I've never used. I read up on account security, enabled 2-step, SteamGaurd, deactivated all devices, etc.
This seemed to piss the person off, so they deleted my Titan (I'm a Hunter main) and more vault items.
How did they still have access?
The person also changed my D2 profile to mirror another player (their own?) with a long D2 history, removed me from my clan, and moved me into a private 9-person PVP clan. Oddly, the clan founder was the person my profile was changed to mirror.
At the end of the weekend, the person gutted my vault of the remaining 600 items, deleted my Hunter, and left me a million miles from where I was minutes before.
It turns out that when the person accessed my account the first time, they enabled CrossSave and linked up Xbox and Epic accounts. This is why they felt no fear of being blocked out of Steam. The worst part is that I can't disable CrossSave without logging in to the accounts that are not mine. That decision should be revisited by Bungie.
Upon sharing my experience with the Help Forums, I was immediately banned (just was unbanned) for Name Shaming?!? I never shared the persons user name, but I did state what my name had been changed to, which seemed harmless enough at the time.
There is not a single piece of content I don't own. Each expansion has been purchased several times, as I often gift them to my friends. I'm no drip-aholic, but I've spent my fair share of silver. My 11,600 Steam D2 hours seem largely taken away. On top of the loss of my D2 financial and time investment, I feel like I have been harassed as well. I recognize most people IRL will not understand what has been stolen, but I'd imagine plenty of the players and moderators here could imagine what it's like to care about a character, weapons, and armor as much as I do, then have it removed from existence by a trolling hacking cheating pos for no reason or benefit to the person. Maybe they deleted everything to remove the evidence of my claim.
If they wanted to, I am sure Bungie could see exactly what happened and probably who was responsible.
Is there anything that can be done? Id really like to have the Xbox and Epic accounts off my account. It qould also be amazing to have the deleted items back.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to be able to safely rejoin my community?

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika TuxyDoh: 9/24/2024 8:58:35 PMHi there. Unfortunately, whether due to accident or unauthorized access, Bungie does not return deleted items or characters. Platform account details, such as usernames and passwords, are not stored on Bungie servers. Players are responsible for their own account security. We highly recommend the security steps you've already taken since encountering suspicious behavior, and you can learn more from the Account Security Guide. Players should create strong passwords, be careful of phishing attempts, and not share their login information, to name a few best practices. Regarding Cross Save and the unauthorized accounts linked to your profile, under no circumstances will Bungie forcefully remove or unlink an account. Disabling Cross Save and account unlinking both require players authenticate the login credentials of the account(s) via the respective platform. More information about policies on unauthorized accounts and Cross Save can be found here. You can contact Xbox and Epic Games Support to see if they can help you access the unauthorized accounts, continue playing and hoping that the other person doesn't interfere, or consider starting over on a different Steam account. When contacting Xbox/Epic, avoid mentioning Bungie's Cross Save. They won't know what that is and they have no control over your Cross Save. They will just think you're talking about a game feature and point you back to Bungie for help. If you are unsuccessful in gaining access to the accounts, you will not be able to disable the Cross Save. At that point, you can report the hacker's accounts to Xbox/Epic. Be aware if they have done anything against Bungie's ToS with your characters, such as cheating in PvP, all linked accounts would be at risk of being banned from D2 based on their ban policies. Bungie bans accounts for what actions happened with the accounts, not individuals. If Xbox/Epic bans on their end, you could continue to play on your existing Steam account without interference, though be aware the Cross Save would then be permanent. As a last resort, you could contact Steam Support regarding whether you qualify for any transfers or refunds of past DLC purchases and start over playing D2 on a different account. Note that in-game triumphs, collections, and Eververse items are not transferrable.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Part Timer: 9/24/2024 7:59:36 PMyou're a 0.6 across the board in pvp, but a 1.7 in trials? yeah, this is what happens when you pay for recovs, bro... And I guess it is an exploit that it bypasses steamguard by him linking his account, but you would have had to let him on your account in the first place. So yeah... You got what you paid for, I guess.

16 OdpowiedziIt really seems like the name and shame rule only protects the scum. I understand its purpose but this is ridiculous. As for what happened to you i really hope you get someone at Bungie to fix this. Id reach out on other platforms as well. Maybe if you get some exposure itll help motivate bungie. Im really sorry about your account. I wish there was something i could do.

3 OdpowiedziThe name thing is dumb yes shame on the person who came up with that BUT you were not "hacked" you willingly gave access to the account that person was untrustworthy clearly As everyone else has pointed out and given this kinda thing isn't all over the forums clearly there correct Real question you should ask yourself now is we're the pointless glows and minimally better adept weapons worth the time you "lost" and money you spent from the you post probably not a

4 OdpowiedziIf you used an account recovery service then consider this karma. If you didn’t use one, then I feel sorry for you that really sucks, it’s probably a sign that you need to move on from D2. If it happened to me I’d be done, no damn way I’d regrind all my characters abilities and all my weapons back especially in the state the game is in atm.

3 OdpowiedziDon't expect much sympathy or help here chief. Bungie will not disable those accounts, and you can start expecting replies about you sharing your account, recoveries etc. My suggestion is to contact epic and whatever other accounts that are not yours, see if they can help.

1 OdpowiedźGod, that's horrible. I can't personally help you, but wish you the best of luck.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Sir Wrinklebutt: 9/25/2024 9:12:01 AMGot to be honest, you are a recov user, you paid someone, and gave them access to your account to CHEAT in pvp, you took your chances and gained some undeserved rewards by cheating and lost your account, no sympathy whatsoever, justice was served, and then you start whining, what about the genuine trials players that lost out to your cheat during trials, I truly am delighted karma stepped up and slapped you in the face ...

3 OdpowiedziMaybe try reaching someone in the help forums, reach out to customer support etc. Dunno how good Bungie is with support stuff like this but they certainly should have the abilities to revert the damage. Nevertheless hope there is someone reading this who can help you out.
