I’ve been playing Destiny for nearly 7 years now, from destiny 1 to now destiny 2. And the changes that have been made to D2 throughout its release Pve wise have been great. The story of destiny keeps on growing. However , pvp has seemed to take the other path. Whilst bringing back trials brought some competition back to crucible with good rewards, we’ve been stuck with the same 4v4 maps from day 1 D2 . They are too close quarters to use anything but a hand cannon (steady hand or igneous) and a shotgun (felwinters lie). Making crucible in general not fun to play.
In destiny 1 , the game mode combined arms was amazing. Huge maps, to have scout rifle/sniper battles with vehicles. This may not fix the problems in trials, however it will mix the weapon variety much more. Allowing scouts to be used and not be forced to use the same set up every game, everyday , every week.
Please bring back this game mode and it’s respective maps and you’ll see a rise in crucible gameplay.

1 OdpowiedźI miss sniping people with nlb in combined arms.

1 OdpowiedźOr anything fun, like King of the Hill, oddball or even traditional CTF. The game modes we have are so boring, we don't even have Rift or Salvage anymore.

Combined arms was the best! I could play it all day and never get bored with it.

2 OdpowiedziAnd rift 🥺?

1 OdpowiedźI’m not even asking for combined arms (even though vehicle battles would be dope), I just want new maps that are larger then the current old ones. The only one that’s pretty long ranged is Widows court and then that one where your in the wreckage.

Ooooh intriguing!
-
Loved that mode won't be the same without icebreaker

1 OdpowiedźLooking back on halo and how insane and creative some of the gamemodes were it's unreal to me that the same company is responsible for such uninspired pvp in this game.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Spectra: 6/3/2021 5:38:32 PMWe need combined arms, skirmish (3v3 mode without lives limitation), rift or another non-slayer gamemode (something like capture the flag and king of the hill) and fun gamemodes (right now we only have team scorched). Btw, can anyone tell me if it’s possible to play hot potatoe with arcstriders and a Slova Bomb? Also, chaotic team scorched where you have different cannons (solar, arc and void) and each one does a different thing.

1 OdpowiedźCombined arms was definitely the best mode D1 had to offer, it only ever got annoying with snipers at times but really fun otherwise.
-
Tanks and turrets please. BUT please no too. As you know they will make 'Get 10 million kills using tanks or turrets in Combined Arms' as some quest step our seasonal bounty and that mode only happens a couple times a season. Such a Bungo thing to do!
-
Agreed. I would like to see vehicle use again. This would buff scout usage alot.
-
instead of a different playlist i wish they were combined like in d1, it was nice going from 3 different map sizes.
-
Here me out...........with drakes
-
Yeah this is awesome because this would force bigger maps

Bungie removed the large maps after only a few months into D1. The forums all those years ago, as they are now, were full of complaints about the size of the maps, snipers abusing lanes etc, calls to nerf and remove the maps. I don't think all these years later anything will change if they are brought back. In fact you can copy most of D1 forum complaints and paste them here and they will still be relevant.
-
I would take that since it would mean more and bigger maps, but then we'd all want more and bigger maps for the rest of the game too and Bunfie would have to bring them into D2, etc. It won't happen.
-
I second this.
-
Yes please.

Combined arms was the best pvp mode in D1. It would be fantastic in D2 as it would encourage actual gunplay instead of shotgunning and stasis spam. I’ve been wanting this since D2’s release so here’s hoping they can listen to the community and add something like this in. Just big maps, that’s what I miss.

1 OdpowiedźI'm gonna double down on this. Have a mode with a large map where each team is given an upgraded ai controlled Fallen tank. The objective is to destroy the enemy tank while defending yours.
-
Agreed! Big team battle like halo!

At least toss all sized maps into the crucible mix to change things up. First Light to Gamblers Ruin would be appreciated.
