Elysium’s bigger than a hallway; it’s a series of hallways.
“Well, yeah, I guess I woke up in SAYU-Mart, remember? Went to my room after.. Well, everything happened. And, okay, fine, I wasn’t looking for the bathroom. I was, er, looking for Fukua. But I don’t think she’s up here. And I’m lost. That part was the truth.”
-
“From the looks of things, they were in Sayu mart a little after you. Why do you want to find her so bad?”
-
“Oh, really? Guess I should’ve just stayed put, huh? And, y’know, I just want to hang out. Am I.. Not allowed to try and make friends..?”
-
“Probably not the best time to. Anything else you aren’t telling me?”
-
“Yeah, I guess not.. But, eh, nope. That’s all I’ve got. Sorry, not much help today either, am I?”
-
Geo ignores him, heading for his room instead, while checking behind to make sure she isn’t being followed.
-
You see Aaron scratching his head confused as you walk away without another word. Heading down to the Amaterasu’s Gift, you eventually make your way to Aaron’s room. It was a mess—even moreso than yesterday, but ultimately there wasn’t anything unusual about it.
-
Geo searches around it. “How hard is it to simply clean up after yourself?”
-
You find empty wrappers, and water bottles, a half eaten bag of chips, a set of clothes carelessly thrown on the floor, a broken pair of glasses, an empty cat carrier, at least 7 empty boxes of cookies, a messy pile of DVDs, some sort of handheld gaming console with a dead battery, a charger for said game console but snapped in half, and a plastic replica of Ronaldo’s replica of the sword from the popular fictional anime “What if my Stepdad Was my Sword?”.
-
Geo takes a moment to think about how she got to this point in life, before heading to the observation deck.
-
You head down from Amaterasu’s Gift, through the Grand Hall, and up to the Observation Deck. There, Kokonoe is sitting at her computer, while Tager & Theta are sitting on a nearby bench.
-
Geo motions for Kokonoe to come closer, away from Theta.
-
She lets out an annoyed sigh, and kicks her chair closer to you. “What?” She asks.
-
“You said we couldn’t access Fie’s memory because she was damaged. Theta isn’t damaged. Can you do that please?”
-
“You’ll have to ask her.” Kokonoe leaned back in her chair, and folded her arms. “Outside of absolute necessity I’m not allowed to tap into a PFD’s systems without consent, as per Aifos’ law. It would require a temporary shutdown. So if you’re going to ask you’ll need to tell her that.”
-
"Fair enough.” Geo heads over to Theta. “Are you okay with shutting down temporarily? It’ll help us find who attacked you.”
-
Theta paused, and wrapped her arms around herself. Clearly, the prospect seemed to terrify her. Still, she hesitantly nodded.
-
“It’ll be okay. You shouldn’t feel anything, and we’ll wake you up if we think it’s dangerous.”
-
“I don’t think feeling anything is what scares her.” Tager said. “Her original creators tried to deactivate her permanently. The thing that scares her is most likely the prospect of not waking up.”
-
“It won’t be like that, it’ll be like going to sleep. You’ll take a quick nap, and be back up again.”
-
She nods, but you can still see the hesitation.
-
“Kokonoe, are you ready yet?”
-
“Alright, let’s get this over with.” Kokonoe said, leading you all to a separate room. She hooks up Theta to a table, and then shuts her down. After a little bit more preparation an image popped up on a screen. It showed her looking around the garden. Eventually she stopped by a patch of red flowers, and sat down on the ground. The sprinklers started, and she took a second to focus on the drops of water on the petals. Then she heard three footsteps, and looked up to see a person in a white cloak holding a knife. “Hello, Theta.” They said. Theta panicked, and quickly hit a button. Soon enough Aifos arrived, and the murderer quickly took Theta hostage.
-
“You hear that? Only three footsteps. They must’ve been close. If you have it all recorded, wake Theta up.”
