You find Joshua with his hand on his chin standing at the entrance of the gardens. As soon as you approach, he begins talking before you get a chance to speak. "There's only one entrance to this room, and that's directly behind us." He says, beginning to walk forwards, waving his hand for you to follow. "According to Theta's report, she was attacked from the flowerbed, not long after the sprinklers turned on." He holds his hand out towards the flowerbed where you saw Theta the previous day. "But where could a murderer be hiding around here? There's no trees, or bushes around, just flowers. If the murderer was waiting right here, there's no way Theta wouldn't have seen them. If they ran towards her from Le Restaurant or something then she would have seen them coming, right?" He puts his hand on his hip, and then passes you a grin. "You've got your work cut out for you [i]detective[/i], I'm stumped."

The tables were neat and orderly, and the restaurant seemed to be back open again, even (though it wasn't very busy. Above you you could see the glass dome, as well as the branches of the large central tree.

Geo points up. “Maybe that tree?”

Joshua looked up. "That's an awfully long fall, don't you think? Jumping down from one of those branches would break their legs, wouldn't it?"

“Could. Wouldn’t break mine. Also, how much would you pay me compared to Aifos?”

"What exactly would I be paying you for?"

“Well, for knowing so much of Theta’s capture, I sure didn’t see you there. Or did I? Fortunately for both of us, I am a mercenary, and my opinion could be changed, if you offer more than they do.” [spoiler]Not actually siding with him if he is guilty, but I want to see how I can play this.[/spoiler]

He chuckled. "Oh, I see what's going on here. Well, for one, if I was the one who did this, I certainly wouldn't fess up that easily. But, you're barking up the wrong tree anyway. Don't tell Kokonoe, but I tapped into her comms. Snuck a bug into that camera I gave you, and you took care of the rest."

“That... really doesn’t make your case any better. In fact that makes it worse.”

He shrugged, and looked at you with a smirk. "Kokonoe doesn't trust me enough to let me play detective. Since I don't have all that fancy authorization that you do, I've got to go about getting intel my own way." Not dropping his smirk, he slipped his hands back into his pocket. "Of course, she trusts you, so if you think it's me go ahead and let her know. I'm sure we can get me locked up by sundown."

“You could’ve just asked. They probably would’ve put you aboard, with a little suspicion just in case. If I don’t find you back here, and you are guilty, I’m not going to even bother turning you in. If you are still here, we can talk then.”

"Heh, if it were that simple I'd already be working with you, [i]detective[/i]. You've clearly never worked with Kokonoe before; she likes having as few hands on deck as possible. Either that or she just doesn't like me. She never really lets me help out."

Geo heads over to the restaurant.

Stepping inside, you find the place to be almost completely empty, though there are a few people sitting at the tables, including Ellie. As you enter, the waiter approaches you. "Hello, ma'am. Things may be a little tense right now, but don't worry. We've taken defensive measures. You should be safe here if anything happens." SAYU appears next to him. "Yep, SAYU-Mart is ready to deploy a holo-wall if anyone suspicious approaches!" The waiter clears their throat. "Er, yes. Would you like a table?"

“Oh, [i]now[/i] she appears everywhere. I don’t need a table, just here to talk.”

"Oh, no, she doesn't appear anywhere, we added some additional programming to her to appear here in Le Restaurant as a precautionary measure.. Well, uhm, of course. What is that you needed to talk about?"

“I was going to talk to her.” Geo points towards Ellie, and heads over to her.

“Of course, sir.” Ellie was in the middle of stuffing her face when you walk over. She looks up at you with her mouth full. “Huh?” She asks.

“Where were you yesterday?”

"Ugh, you're questioning me [i]again[/i]!?" She asks. "I didn't have anything to do with Fie, alright, I promise? Kokonoe told us to all stay in our rooms, so I did."

“Alright then. Stayed inside the whole time?”

“Yep. Didn’t leave until this morning, and only then because I was starving half to death.”
