Every year we hear about Bungie being able to adjust the sandbox more frequently and quickly. And every year, we go longer and longer in between updates.
Speak with your time and money. I never bought shadowkeep. I haven’t preordered beyond light, and I don’t plan to.

1 OdpowiedźHere me out.......this is a reminder that Division and Anthem were supposed to be "Destiny Killers". Let that sink in why Destiny is currently on top of both

51 OdpowiedziIm gonna laugh my dick off when everyone realizes BL is just a shitty new subclass and a snowy patrol zone.

5 Odpowiedzi"I didn't pay you for anything new, and I have no intention to! By the way, do what I tell you to, even though it costs a lot of money to pay your workers and to use the resources necessary to do the thing I want you to do! But don't do it with MY money, do it with everyone elses money!" -Literally everyone on this -blam!-ing forum. If you don't support the creator of a free-to-play game by paying them for the few paid-only things in said game, they lose out on the money they would have earned from your patronage. Money that could have gone to developing a better system. Money that could have gone to re-working the sandbox from the ground up. Money that could have gone towards optimizing the entire game better. One person not paying isn't too big of a deal, but your opinion on this is shared by MILLIONS of people. If millions are refusing to support them, what money are they supposed to fix things with? They need to pay their workers somehow, and they need money for the resources necessary to make and implement the changes you want. No support from the community means they have to do things differently, but not in the way you want. Content comes out slower, is of lower quality, and of lesser quantity when there is no support from the community. And with nearly every single post on here complaining mentioning at some point or another "I didn't pay for X" or "I won't be buying X" or something else similar, it's not hard to see why they put out such low-quality content (from the communities perspective. I personally enjoy what they've done so far, and like what they're doing moving forward, so I'm going to do the smart thing and support them so they can continue to FIX THINGS instead of whining about what I dislike, refusing to support them, and then expecting them to magically fix everything I dislike) Even with all of that aside, look at it from a business perspective. If you have 1 million paying customers, and 1 million players that refuse to pay a cent to you, who are you going to listen to? The million paying customers who actively support you and assist in funding your business despite their gripes, or the million that refuse to pay a cent but constantly yell at you to fix this, fix that, change this, change that, with zero intention of paying you back for any of it? ALL personal viewpoints aside, objectively speaking, Bungie has ZERO reason to listen to you, or anyone else, that won't pay them for their work. Why should they help you, when they can't get help FROM you?

If what you want is a competitive pvp experience, I think you’re taking the best approach. By their actions since Smith took over the franchise, and all the e-sports focused team leads left, Bungie is showing that pve is their priority. It is the economic engine. The largest fraction of the player base by almost a 2:1 margin. It’s the easiest part of the game to monetize. It requires the least maintenance. Whereas pvp demands and approach to the sandbox that is incompatible with the game’s core identity. It’s high maintenance, yet in the current environment you can’t sell any of the content. People expect it to be given away for free, and monetized by selling cosmetics. But this alienated the pve player base because many of them see those cosmetics as loot the pve side of the game is being deprived of. In a game that already suffers from a lack of loot. I think Smith made his sales pitch to Bungie execs by showing the futility of the game trying to serve two masters whose demands are contradictory. So Smith has chosen to serve pve. He won’t kill it outright. It’s a third of the player base and who needs the bad publicity? But what I believe we’re seeing is Bungie slowly boiling the frog. Slowly starving pvp of resources and using those resources to improve pve to the point where—-like Diablo, Warframe, and Borderlands—-the game no longer needs pvp. IOW, they are letting pvp slowly wither on the vine. So slowly that there will be no outcry for it when it finally dies.

43 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Dredgen Truth: 10/15/2020 10:40:19 PMThat is a lie, or at the very least a misrepresentation. We had sandbox changes back in season of the worthy, and I believe we had some tuning with season of arrivals. Needless to say, it's been significantly less than nine months since both of those. Edit: Title of the original post has been edited since I made this reply. I can agree that we haven't had any significant changes since season of the worthy, but we did have changes, and the original title would have told you otherwise. Basically most of my arguments here are somewhat moot now that the original argument has been revised.

4 OdpowiedziYou do realize the giant tech update they've made to the engine IS the sandbox change, yes?
-
1 Odpowiedźok so why do you play destiny then? if your not playing the new pve content then why play? if you play solely crucible maybe try another game cause this aint for you and bungie isnt going to make it for you
-
This has been the case since D2 really. Outliers are addressed more frequently but sweeping Sandbox changes only occur once or twice a year. They should just schedule Sandbox updates every Fall and Spring to keep things fresh.
-
2 OdpowiedziYou my friend are spittin facts over here, how long must we wait? It seems like the crucible will stay in its state for ever! Mountaintop, shotgun, gnawing hunger, makes me want to eat raw lamb sauce!
-
Sandbox changes won't fix the problem. Honestly, I think they're just out of ideas. Six years on one game is a long time man. Let's say they shift the meta to scout rifles, does that excite you? Super slow crucible matches don't sound good to me. Want to go back to hand cannons? That was only the meta for a year or so. How about pulse rifles? So exciting seeing six stacks of vigilance wings. No, the problem is the game has run its course. I have had more fun with my friends playing destiny through the years than any other game, thanks for the memories. But I believe this is where myself and many others get off the train.

5 OdpowiedziI havent preordered BL either. Its gonna be hard not to play but $70 for another year of this is crazy.
-
So you're saying the pregnancy should be over now?
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Hunter_Umbra: 10/16/2020 7:28:16 AMYou clearly saw your error and changed your title. So, may I ask what significant changes are you looking to see? The way I see it, the only times we have seen any major changes that would fit your criteria would be the all-primary meta in Vanilla D2, and then the switch to what we have now in Forsaken.
-
I preordered because I enjoy this game.
-
4 OdpowiedziDude, they have a limited and tight sandbox they cant do shit with. They rolled out D2 too fast and now we’re stuck with what we got. Even Beyond Light having stasis, they’re still minor differences between subclasses. The day they introduce something that isn’t rehashed in some way, Ill eat my sphincter.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Quaddity: 10/15/2020 1:58:28 PMI didn't buy SK either. I quit playing completely in January. Now that SK is free on game pass I came back and started playing again and realized nothing has really changed. Grind for power and do bounties endlessly. I'm almost done with SK and then I'll probably just wait for BL on game pass and play that with my clan again. I'm more amazed people don't have game pass and are actually paying for BL.

1 OdpowiedźThe sandbox team has been moved to join the Eververse team. Actually everyone at bungie has been redeployed to the colouring in and renaming old guns.
-
1 OdpowiedźIt use to be about every 6 months, and now like you said it's about 9 months. To be quite honest it's unacceptable. Many other games will but out updates and fixes within the week but for Bungie likes to drag their feet. Hit detection on Sentinel titan still an issue Resilience needs a fix No flinch on snipers No factions even though the vendors are there No option to auto-delete blue gear These are just a few out of the many issues that could be fixed throughout this 9-month wait.
-
Meh, remember the Thorn marathon in D1. Felt like years, still occasionally get a green tint in my eyes! 😂
-
2 OdpowiedziWe got a sandbox update this season. We get one every season.
-
If you haven't realized by now that Bungie likes to do huge Sandbox updates once a year, with smaller fixes/updates every couple months I don't know what to tell you.
-
They said they could do more sandbox changes with static rolls...people didnt want static rolls...so now it is just every season again.
-
Slow down there speed racer, it took them 18 months to kill the hand cannon meta. (sarchasm)
-
Seriously dude they literally are using their new expansion as a way so slack off. It’s like they don’t care anymore.
-
4 OdpowiedziSo, I'm new to videogames, and I'm not exactly sure what a sandbox is. Anyone care to explain?
