hey,
ive been playing this season a little bit, havent been to keen on getting on as the recent changes to movement and the dps meta are very frustrating and lower the skill cap a lot.
1) Movement changes (sword and relic skating) - I feel like the changes to movement are totally uncalled for and unfair for the speedrunners and even the more casual players in PvE. If sword and relic skating is a problem in PvP why not disable it for just that gamemode? why do PvE players have to suffer. there are a lot of players that spent hours on hours perfecting skillbased movement in this game and you just cut their legs off. its sad to see that the changes are not a byproduct of the sword overhaul but directly targeted at the ability to skate. who did skating really hurt? why was it removed? it felt like a part of destiny and made the game what it was to me and many others. PvE content now feels like a chore and just unfun. i like going fast and bungie is one of the only game devs actively going against speedrunners patch after patch. i still have my hopes up for this change to get reverted as there is no real reason for it being here in the first place.
2) Sniper changes - Another nerf that is there for no reason, dealing optimal dps required a good amount of skill last season and was in an overall balanced state. there is no reason why 6 guardians with exotic sniperrifles and grenadelaunchers shouldnt be able to kill a boss thats 40+ power levels below them in one phase. the fact that the only way to onephase said boss now is 1k or xenophage, weapons you basically dont need to aim with, is concerning and feels less rewarding as it feels more like cheesing than actually killing the boss.
Why were snipers buffed by 20% coming into sk? because they were bad, so why would a 20% nerf 2 seasons later be good?
Overall i feel like the sandbox this season is messed up and the movement changes are just an direct attack at speedrunners and even more casual players. speedrunners love this game and dedicate insane amount of hours and also money to it.
I personally will casually play this game now whenever the timegate opens and reveals some new bit of content but thats only because i already paid for the season. im not looking to spend any money on silver or merch from the bungie store anymore. if the changes to movement arent reverted (at least in PvE) and the PvE sandbox stays like this i will not even buy the next expansion and only play content i already paid for. not changing it back means bungie clearly doesnt care about me so why should i care about them? Im already giving them more of a chance than a lot of my friends who just straight up uninstalled after they saw and played with these changes.

1 OdpowiedźI have about 4500 hours in this game since PC launch, and the changes to movement are the worst update this game has ever had. The experience of speedrunning with friends and the incredible strategies and optimizations that came with Worldline and sword skating are things that you just cannot find anywhere else, and for bungie to go out of their way and ruin it like that is heartbreaking. The response the community has had, and the lack of response from devs and community managers about the changes makes me lose a lot of hope of having it reverted at all.

i dont even play my warlock anymore because no more skating

7 OdpowiedziAs a Titan main that's been shafted ever since D2 launched, with our Twilight Garrison, Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light and other perks that we originally had in D1 being given away to Warlocks in D2, good riddance you Warlocks deserved the sword/relic skating nerf. When only one class is able to abuse a mechanic to speedrun while retaining its superior survivability with Devour/Well of Radiance, it stops being a golden child and more of a spoiled brat. Titans had our Titan skating removed and lived to deal with it, so now it's your turn Warlocks. If you want to sword skate again, then you know it's only fair for Titans to get their Titan skating back.

132 OdpowiedziWe'll let the team know that you would like to see sword and relic skating return in the future and snipers to buffed again.
not changing it back means bungie clearly doesnt care about me
We make changes we believe are best for the game based on a number of factors including data, player feedback, and our designers. Please don't think us not changing something you don't prefer as us not caring about your opinion. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us.

The skating thing I agree with but not seeing "gotta have izanagi's pluz catalyst" posts in GoS LFGs from people who have never cleared the raid is good for this community. Izanagi's can die in a fire. There's nothing it can do that whisper or 1k can't.

Shouldn't nerf snipers before buffing linear fusions rifles. They them comparable for boss dps

Edytowany przez użytkownika Pringles: 3/20/2020 6:13:58 PMWait, swordskating is removed now? It's like some overprotective parents try to get rid of everything that they think is unnecessary to their kids.

*can't sword skate* ALMOST UNPLAYABLE

2 OdpowiedziAll worldline, and sword/relic skating brought was good, lots of people including myself spent hundreds of hours perfecting the movement and then using these skills to route runs. Worldline as well as sword skating raised the skill ceiling and made speed runs much for interesting, and not only was it good for speed runners, it was also something that everyone could learn, even if they weren’t running. The most annoying thing is that the change came out of no where. At first we thought it had to be done to make the sword changes go through, then when the patch released we learned that they just directly removed the ability to jump while swords dashing, and also that still, swords are still awful in the endgame. The point is, it seams they just did this to hurt the speed running community more than it already had been. Please bungie, revert these changes.

It really bugs me out that instead of making sword skating an official thing, with hunters and titans having different types of sword skating, they just removed it......

44 OdpowiedziAnyone who thinks you shouldn't skate is stupid imo skating is what makes it fun for many players. Yes it wasn't intended to be in the game but it was in the game for years and was in d1. Also the people ranting about how snipers should stay nerfed or speed runners feel entitled let's put it this way we are the ones who find out the strategies to make raids easier for people who struggle in raids and most help people who usually dont raid get into raids and get them done at a good pace Notice how lfg is dead now on console and even pc?! That's due to this nerf. Destiny's most consistent player base has always been speed runners, bad dlc with no content? Speed runners dont care we just spam raids all season, pvp update? Not an issue we can still raid. This update? Nobody wants to raid as its not fun anymore

This is the worst state Destiny has ever been in all the way around

2 Odpowiedziin warfame, bullet jumping wasnt supposed to be a thing, but players loved it, so DE made it a feature in the game. in D2, swordand relic skating wasnt supposed to be a thing, people loved it so bungle takes it away

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Tipsky: 3/20/2020 7:13:27 PMI'm probably just another irrelevant voice out there in the community. As such I don't care and still state my concerns and background. I've been a Destiny player since Destiny 1 Beta. I was one of those rare people who personally loved the game even through Dark Below and even through Curse of Osiris, cause I was one of those "as long as I'm with my friends, I'll play" type of person. However, as I invest more time in the game I also get more competitive and hungry for more (as a lot may also experience). This came in the form of speedrunning. What I'm trying to say is, speedrunning and tech that came with it got me genuinely interested in the game. I'm not the only one either, I know a few dozen people by name who are or can be speedrunners and remember countless more people whether from LFG's or friends of friends who are also fascinated with speedrunning. Destiny 2 is NOT a speedrunning game but definitely no game really ever is designed for speedrunning. However, if anything you can rephrase it to: Destiny 2 is a unique game to speedrun. Unique in the sense that it involves SOOO many more factors than your own coordination and skill; TEAMPLAY is also involved in speedrunning this game and it brings out some of the worse in people but mostly the best. In addition, speedrunning gives the game so much more content OUT OF content which is just a plus considering that the game has a lasting issue regarding content. Which leads me to the toxicity targeted against speedrunners. I am genuinely concerned with the state of this community, not only are the Devs directly targeting the speedrun community but also the general D2 community. It's almost disgusting how so many people are ignorant of the speedrunning community's feelings on the mere fact that we are the minority. Just because we are the minority does not mean we can be freely picked on. I'm seeing a lot of comments about this and though the game may not be unplayable for you, it may be for others especially those who are sick and tired of being picked on for a big aspect of why they ENJOY the game and not just mindlessly play it. I also like to think that if weapons that people love were taken away with no reason previously mentioned and prior feedback, then people would most likely react the same way speedrunners have been reacting since the launch of the new sandbox. As much as possible, if I've learned anything in this game it's that people shouldn't be criticizing about others experiences that they have not experienced; thus, really the only people that have the right to give their opinion about speedrunning are speedrunners themselves which sounds selfish but its ultimately true. It would be absurd for a Only-PvP type player to call out a speedrun for being invalid or voicing out that the changes to worldline are good if they haven't worldline skated before. Likewise, it would be absurd for Only-PvE type players to call nerfs or complain about nerfs to OP items in PvP if they've never experienced being killed or using the items in PvP. Thus, no one really has a say on whether the skating nerfs are bad unless they are either speedrunners, developers of the game, or just generally use it. (But for the sniping nerfs, I think everyone does have a say in it, I can see both sides) I don't know how many hours I've put into both D1 and D2 combined but I've spent a considerable part of my life in it and I, like other speedrunners/hardcore players who have voiced out, am generally passionate because of it, like sweats are to PvP (No, I'm not a fanboy. Yes, I play other games). Passion should not be ignored, hated, and equaled to it's just us complaining and that we should "move on". This is why I'm glad that Bungie (well, specifically Cozmo) is finally starting to notice the feedback on the sandbox updates and have responded with interest in the future in mind. However, I've been saying this for a long time now: The way to make the game more hardcore is not by cycling through weapons while buffing and nerfing them based on mere data but through feedback (considering all opinions) and play testing it. I've always loved the idea of a Destiny PTS (Playtest Server), similar to what they did in the Division. Now, I do not think that this is a necessary feature but the community is as big as ever with the recent content releases and the response has generally been just satisfactory and if it can be fulfilled then it can be a healthy way to not only communicate with the playerbase but also balance things out. Additionally, ramping up difficulties while buffing underpowered and underused weapons may not be such a bad idea; ofcourse you'd have to test it though. However, if the goal is to make the game more enjoyable and hardcore AT THE SAME TIME, then repetitive grinds and reused content is not enough. I end my statements with a shed of some hope that the community starts respecting each other (probably not) and also hope that Bungie is truly considering ALL feedback, big or small. Thank you for reading if you've gotten this far. Not flexing, I would never. But this is my Destiny Tracker and raid report to prove (though I don't really need to prove anything) my "credibility" for all you dads who think I'm a fake and should just shut up: https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/psn/Tipsky https://raid.report/ps/Tipsky I just wanna reiterate that I don't claim to be good in anyway, I'm just a gamer trying to game. :) Thanks.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika cycofreak3: 3/21/2020 10:41:02 AMIt took my group and I over an hour to beat a single nightmare hunt. It wasn't a challenge, we just has everything 1 tapping us with grenades and swords, not to mention Crota bugs that exist from D1. It just took 40 minutes of kiting, no fun and no actual challenge outside of basically just stomps on everything. But hey, I bet Datto is nice and happy with everything so far. I mean, I hope he is cause otherwise all the shit the 99% get to play with isn't worthwhile, not that it is just for him to be happy. He cries about there being no challenge yet he could just use something that's not Izanagi's and challenge himself. "Why not use it, it's the best?", I hear him say, and I reply, "because you're the one who wanted it to be harder". One person or small portion, no matter how good, should hold sway over the sandbox of the game more than the rest of the community. If this was solely bungie's decision and solution for snipers being used so much, they re showing how out of touch they are and how little actual testing they do before doing anything to the sandbox since there were NO BUFFS. So they either don't care anymore or they listened to the 1 person I've ever seen complain about power creep and took his word for it that we don't need buffs because PoWeR cReEp. Datto's opinion on power creep in Opulence was pretty legit, now it's a load of bullshit. He doesn't know what will happen if Bungie buff things, he literally only assumes they'll buff it to the level of something else like Izanagi's. If bungie buffed shotguns and fusions to the level of Izanagi's would there be power creep this season? No, because you'd still not use anything but snipers unless you have to use something else, which leads me to weapon usage. Bungie are forcing us into inferior weapons just so they can say, "look at all these people using CQC weapons now instead of snipers, aren't you glad you can play how you want?", when they know full well we can't play how we want, only how they and a tiny minority want us to play. Bottom line, they're out of touch or they listen to the few instead of the many and if/when they fix it, they'll say, "see? We listen to you", as if that means they actually do and pretend this never happened.

2 Odpowiedzibro there are no relics in pvp in the first place and you cant really skate with a sword in pvp unless its worldline which isnt practical unless your baken. nobody wanted the skating nerf and it sure wasnt a result of pvp (except titan skating even though it was broken in pve as well somewhat so idk).
-
9 OdpowiedziSwords... pvp? Hardly anyone uses swords or talks about swords much in pvp. Skating pvp? Why do you blame this on pvp?
-
Warlock sword skating was one of my favorite parts of the game. Now swords just feel blah. Floaty bois need to go fast sometimes too.
-
3 OdpowiedziI play a lot of pve, and I find it to be fine. In fact, the fact that hacks like relic skating, titan skating, and worldline zero skating ever existed in the first place really takes the fun out of speedrunning when I would like to do the encounters legit. Case in point, when you can use an exploit to completely skip entire encounters of garden of salvation it is ridiculous, and surely not playing the game as it was intended to be played. If that means that it is unplayable to you than that’s ok. Our definitions of playability are vastly different.

Played 4 hours of this season and quit. It's a steaming pile of poop...

Season of the Worthy has made D2 unplayable Boring repetitive busy work Oh and buggy as hell too Bungie, did you even attempt to test the dlc/patches?

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Pxmastaz: 3/20/2020 10:05:27 AMI'm not a speedrunner, but i loved those skating mechanics, that was adding a lot of fun in the game. Now everytime i play with a sword or a relic, i feel as slow as a rock. But as we know since Shadowkeep, Bungie have decided to suck all the fun from the game until only the brainless grind is left. I'm tired of their BS.

12 OdpowiedziSkating: it’s an exploit. Glitch. It was never supposed to be there or intended to be used as it is. Poor coding whatever. People liking an exploit? Shocking. So Bungie’s just supposed to leave it in the game because people like it? I think not. And the playerbase is partly to blame for the sniper nerfs. If players didn’t spend most of their time no-skilling encounters, hanging out at the back in a well, completely out of danger and easy killing bosses with divinity/sniper, they wouldn’t have been nerfed. That said, if Bungie got rid of the ridiculous stomp mechanic there would be less incentive to do so. But still, there are other effective ways to do encounters. In all aspects of this game, if players use one thing or one strategy almost exclusively Bungie will remedy it. Players know that and still cry when the inevitable happens. Then again, nobody complained about snipers before shadowkeep; they were perfectly capable and efficient. And all Bungie has done is remove a buff and move them back to that level so this whole thing is a big whine just to whine.
