I just can’t bring myself to login after all the hype of the corridors of time lore, emblem, and disappointment over early access to a gun we knew was coming.
I thought I should do this crap so I could get the rewards and then I thought why? What am I really missing out on? So I decided that my had to be there moment was to just miss out.
I bought the full pass and I am sure I will login before the season ends and will probably be there for the next season but for now my moment is just not bothering to clock in to the Destiny job.

2 OdpowiedziOnce you quit playing and a little time passes, you realize that you missed out on some events and you fall behind the core community that plays all the time and.... it sets you free! You will start to realize that you have overcome an unhealthy addiction. There is a wonderful community of players here that are worth keeping but the game that brought us together has become trash. And its not going to get better, its going to get worse. Get out and quit playing D2. You will not regret it.

15 OdpowiedziNo good story demands you be there. Only the shitty ones ask for you to have been there. It's like listening to an alcoholic try to talk you into drinking. Bungie was Joe Biden levels of dementia with that marketing. Game design is about making a stamp on your time. If the game has to be played at a specific period of time to be enjoyed, it isn't a good game. A good game can be played any time.

So I'm not alone in getting this feeling. Haven't really played since the "event". Bastion is basically a full auto PvP shotty. I like many contributed and then did the full corridor run. Only to realise we had been used to unlock a weak as frak weapon that is strong in crucible only. The bypass shields damage is literally useless as a blue special fusion with the correct damage type will kill quicker. Merciless will do more actual Dps etc etc. My motivation to play is gone. I love a bit of Ib and have not even played a single match of it. I suspect a heck of a lot of the pve community is awol now too.

Good for you. You broke the cycle.

3 OdpowiedziWhen the puzzle was discovered: Oh, cool! I'll have to check that out When the puzzle was solved: All that for an exotic shown on the roadmap? Maybe I'll get to it before the end of the season. When I found out it was closing in a week: Are you -blam!-ing kidding me? Take your FOMO and shove it!
-
Cool now try that approach here.

11 OdpowiedziLol i've been playing red dead online... where they give you gold (which is equivalent to silver in destiny) for just playing. I've gained enough gold to unlock the season pass and DLC for free........ crazy concept rewarding players and all... might actually spend some real money to support them.

5 OdpowiedziI think they were hoping it was like Whisper or Zero Hour in terms of “Whoa that was awesome” and obviously that didn’t pan out
-
honestly i've had more "you had to be there" moments just sitting in fortnite creative than i've had in D2 since the beta
-
Indeed.

12 OdpowiedziThere was an event in D1 that I wasn't around for, not sure if it was queen's wrath, it was an early event, and ppl used to talk about it. I thought 'you had to be there' was gonna be things like that.

Destiny 2__ . . A Strange Game__ . . The Only Winning Move Is Not To Play_

For the "had to be there moment" I have a good idea. They should add a different world boss somewhere on a planet every month. There should be a board in the tower where you can apply to fight this world boss (when you are a solo player) and an option for fighting the world boss as a fire team of 6. This world boss once defeated will drop a special piece of armour or weapon.

5 OdpowiedziForbes has a good article on this exact topic. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2020/01/22/destiny-2s-you-had-to-be-there-philosophy-is-turning-off-players/

Man, you had to be there when Bungie totally and completely ignored everything they learned while making Destiny 1, and made a sequel no one asked for, that was boring, banal, and little more than a fancy mobile game, with all the quality content hidden in a cash shop. Man, you really had to be there.

Isn’t it funny how that phrase doesn’t apply to eververse? Undying Season shaders are still available. Just saying.

24 OdpowiedziI bought the full pass and am embarrassed for being foolish.

1 OdpowiedźA certain someone had 0 understanding of what made these kinds of moments and thus shattered the possibility for more. As long as "we" throw money at the screen, I guess we're "fine".
-
Very much agree. Have been playing COD for PvP and temtem will take the rest of my time. Destiny will be seen again but not for a while. Nothing worth while with execs that are money hungry -blam!-. Do feel for the people actually making the game.

1 OdpowiedźI was lucky enough to not to have purchased Shadowkeep and my journey pretty much ended there. I played some of the free stuff, visited the Moon and then stopped for a couple mos. Logged in to do the Haunted Forest event with a friend to get the Auto Rifle, but havent touched it since. I used to love this game, been here since the beginning..... and the future direction (or lack there of) and current model drove me away. Foresaken was D2s highlight. Everything outside of it has been an utter letdown.

1 OdpowiedźThe best part of quiting? It's the coming back here and getting weekly gratification that you are way better off without D2 . Yes I still have a part of me that miss the D1 friends and the FUN I once had. D2 shouldn't have ever been a thing

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Seraph: 1/23/2020 11:18:30 PMFor me, the issue is that once you are out ( and have missed out on something ), you are out for good, there is no coming back once you've fallen behind the core community ( no lifers, streamers, and people who play games for aiving ). This is the drawback to Bungie's FOMO strategy, its either all or nothing, there is nothing in between.
-
So you've decided that your "had to be there moment" was to be here instead?
