Borderlands has the same issue destiny has but without the option of pvp or multiplayer raiding to distract from the base gameplay loop.
After a month or two of playing through the same instances and trying out all the possible builds you'll quickly find there's no reason to keep playing until new content drops.

Borderlands is getting raids
-
Actual raids, or just tweaking the terrible raid boss mechanic they already had?
-
Are you always this negative
-
I'm not being negative, i'm being objective. You cannot look at previous borderlands raid boss design and call them anything other than poor. Now are you going to answer my question, or not?
-
You're gonna anger the borderlands stans.
-
I don't care; true fans of games can admit their flaws. The people who openly praise BL3 despite not even playing it yet are the same people who are going to be complaining they need a new game to play next month. They're not real gamers, they're an invasive species.
-
Your lost, it's about the LOOT ..
-
The loot like "It's the same weapon but now it's full auto!!"
-
Um not even remotely close.. each of the 8 weapon types has 300-400 different parts and any combi can drop making millions of not billions of possible weapons. All sounding ot shooting different. Borderlands made the Loot and Shoot genre Bungie copied Bang and Boring
-
Of those billions, how many are good? Because in my time playing the BL franchise (even the garbage one between 2 and 3) only a handful of the guns wowed me.
-
I havnt played 3 yet still at work. But of the endless possibilities in BL2 yes they all didn't wow you but all were still playable depending on class or situation. It would be more like a Diablo 2 loot pool. The mods and rarity is all random and every once in awhile a OMFG item drops . Sorry but in D2 I never had any OMFG loot moment, yes on D1 their was a few wow moments To be the games loot and the chance at a great item keeps me playing. That's why D2 got stale way fast for me. The other major please for me on BL games is the amount of class choices and how the classes play different. In D2 its like the same 3 players with a different jump. I paid up til Shadow keeps new cash grab and I know I'm not getting it so unless I'm super bored and in the bathroom I'm probably done coming here.
-
Oh, so random rolls, a basic system that any game can easily implement and use? Oh wow so impressive and totally not fluffed with low tier perks to add to a number for marketing
-
Once again . Not even close. But you do destiny.. you and the 1200 people left
-
Found the BL stan. If you think that random roll systems are unique or impressive you should probably go play literally any MMO/RPG
-
Learn to read. Random COMPONENTS. As in the guns not the same exact type.. mods..sound..cadence etc.. Your used to a new gun being recolored and rekinned and your gonna act like your to stupid to see the difference?
-
Ohhhh so the same system but now it affects gun audio using a basic pitch/tempo randomization algorithm? Or the basic RNG system using different modeled pieces that can be placed on the same base model to make it look like it's a different gun? Oh wow almost as though that's not an impressive system whatsoever and is the worst selling point I've ever seen!
-
Lol. Your impressed more by yourself than facts. Later . As soon as I get off work I know where I will be
-
Facts? Like how their weapon system isn't impressive and can be done by anyone in python? Model a basic weapon, add some areas for pieces to go, make some pieces, script a system that chooses a random piece and applies it to the weapon, boom, there's the system. It's not impressive
-
So if it's easy and not impressive them what is the pathetic system bungie uses called?
-
Not impressive and basic lol what do you want me to say?
-
Put a shirt on for Pete's sake! Nobody wants to see that mess.
-
You're -blam!-ing delusional lol
-
You're -blam!-ing delusional lol
Why are you booing him? He’s right...
-
Nah. Boo this man.
