All this Well talk, will say people seem dependent on it.
Will say that I ran the SotP raid yesterday. something like 4 titans and 1 hunter, 1 warlock.
right at the start of the raid I had to hear these annoying guys be like "so who wants to be a warlock when we get to the boss?" "do you want me to swap to warlock?"
I kept saying "dude play whatever you want, it doesn't matter to me"
"but we only have 1 warlock"
"so what?"
fast forward us getting to the boss
"so you want me to swap to warlock? we only have 1"
me: "do what you want man, we don't really need warlocks unless you are just bad"
"ok I'll swap to warlock it's all good"
man people are pretty dependent on well it seems, they can't even function with the idea of not using well in raids

I find most lfg people just want to use WoR because it's basically a guaranteed 1 phase. I find a regular empower rift works just as good. I don't like the gameplay of WoR. I just don't like set and forget supers anyway. Well is boring as hell to me. I'd never use it except for the fact being a little grenade shield spammy snot makes your abilities Regan faster and it almost feels like Sunsinger again.. almost.

1 OdpowiedźWho actually needs a well in Scourge? It's the easiest raid Bungie have released, on par with Crota. Last week we did it easily with 6 hunters. The only activity you could argue requires well is T3 reckoning on the bridge, even then stormcaller can easily cope with adds. The problem is not with well, but the Phoenix exotic, it'd be easy enough to tone that down, but no, bungle has to -blam!- over warlocks yet again....and who the Fk uses phoenix protocol instead of lunafactions anyway? But I can imagine all the lfgs in a few months, looking for Void titans running WoL. Bungle aren't solving an issue they're just creating another.

In that scenario I would say yes they are dependent on it. Though if you already have the people using it why not use it? This tends to happen in games where a support build/character becomes very useful and if possible people usually want them to help make the activity faster and increase the odds of completing it. Now people will use reckoning as an example for bungie having an issue with it. They made stuff like like Phoenix protocol and others like it let people get their supers back extremely quickly in activities like blond well and reckoning. They already nerfed Phoenix but let's be honest they then brought out bad juju to make up for it but this does mean you have your primary eating your exotic instead of something you might find better for dps. If it ends up making things feel super easy then you look at boss fights and what not and see that it's just a boss standing there letting you hit it's weak spot without needing to move. This ends up feeling easy in general and makes well seem OP in that regard. This is just how support abilities basically work though. Make it easier but the problem is there's not enough other support classes. Outside of tether hunters and the void wall titan(can never remember the name) For people the void wall titan just doesnt give enough support for being a man down on firing so almost no one seems to use that feature, keep in mind it also has an exotic to get the super back and blocks incoming attacks. Tether is great for getting everyone's super back and crowd control. It also has the effect of a debuff essentially but something like celestial on GG with the precision hit orb generation ends up being better for boss fights to keep your team having supers to cycle than it. Aswell as the damage it deals. Sure there's people already going to jump to saying everything here is wrong but I do agree with you don't have to and shouldn't need to always have one. If anything I'd say let's add more support abilities for other classes and make them worth using but a mandatory thing.

2 OdpowiedziOkay, I've completed that raid 39 times so far, yeah only 39 times... but I have enough experience from doing so that I think you are leaving out some vital details. How many players in that raid were first timers? How many times did you have to wipe from people getting killed by the snipers on the rooftops? Did you dps from map room or out in the open? What weapon strat did you use? Did you use Lunafaction boots and/or rally barricade at all?

They are dependent on it not because they can't clear the encounter without it, buy because it makes it so much efficient. Why sweat for more than one damage phase when you can go braindead during one and get it over with?

5 OdpowiedziDidn’t read the blog? People are dependent on it because content has been designed around it. It’s the vicious circle that occurs when power creep sets in. The game is tuned with the OP gear in mind...and people then have to play with it so they aren’t handicapped. If the power delta is bad enough, the game become almost unplayable without the gear.
