It really is. It’s the only thing that has no counter other than using it (edit: this was poorly phrased, better is, “one of the best counters is using an Erentil yourself.”)) And the range it can one shot is game breaking. With Magazine perks such as Under Pressure and other stability enhancements, it can outgun other weapons at 30+ meters. This outmatches the range of every special but snipers, but for obvious reasons, they leave you vulnerable. Other fusion rifles seem to be in check, but for some reason Erentil FR4 is exceedingly effective as a weapon. With scavenger perks, players are able to use this weapon as a main weapon without needing to use anything else. Yes. I’m whining. But it’s also ridiculous.
Edit: So many people are upset that I’ve targeted ONE weapon. Guys. If it’s so easy to counter, why are you trying so hard to keep it as is?

26 OdpowiedziI made a post about Erentil not too long ago. I was just saying how far it could kill (I tested a decent roll and got to about 27 meters as far as a consistent ONK is concerned). But, people responded about better rolls going even further. I had a friend with a God roll and against a perfectly still target, the OHK range was 70 meters. Then, we tested moving targets. Sprinting, jumping, strafing, etc. Consistent OHK range for the same roll came out to 40+ meters. That's absolutely insane. I then made a poll asking people which range they consistently get kills with or get killed by an Erentil, and the poll reflected the same results as my test. That's crazy. I feel like the only OHK weapon at that range should be a sniper rifle. Erentil is an extremely low skill gap weapon and it just maps people.

2 OdpowiedziI never had used fusion rifles before . Till I got one with good rolls and it’s easy as hell ! Anyone who says fusion rifles take skill to use are full of it . Seriously. The map potential is crazy and needs to be looked at

I like seeing you shotgunners run at the sound of my Erentil pre charging. I’m happy to have something to counter your shotguns. All the Dusk Rock Blues users get what you deserve when you get killed by my Erentil. It is OP, but it’s been nice not having to worry about you cheap ass shotgunners, with the exception of Lord of Wolves.
-
Just...snipe it. It reaches range but it struggles super close and super far. I find either last word or an smg with good maneuvering really messes with them.
-
Fusions time to shine, enjoy it. Some time it will get better to the ground.
Edit: So many people are upset that I’ve targeted ONE weapon. Guys. If it’s so easy to counter, why are you trying so hard to keep it as is?
bungie over nerfs everything bro , that is one of the only decent fusion rifles as they already nerfed telesto. If they nerf high impact fusions you won't see any fusions in crucible. That is not a good thing. The shotgun meta is already too strong.
-
It is. There are several issues that contribute. 1) It's a little TOO good just in terms of the archetype/base stats. 2) I don't think Bungie designs weapons with the assumption that everyone is going to have a god roll. Since everybody farmed Erentil in Menagerie, now everyone has a god roll or close to one. So it feels oppressive when everybody is running around with a perfect Erentil when it was already strong with no perks. It just highlights how broken "god rolls" can be when everyone has one. 3) Special ammo economy. People run around and use it like a primary with double fusion scavenger perks. Unlike a shotgun, it's fine at midrange, which makes it usable for more engagements. To fix it they simply need to make it less consistent at longer ranges. Getting outplayed at short-midrange is reasonable. Having someone smile, and casually one-shot you while they're under fire while you're trying to lane at midrange with a pulse is not. Also, ammo pickup should be toned down for all special weapons.
Guys. If it’s so easy to counter, why are you trying so hard to keep it as is?
Because it's already easy to counter. You answered your own question.

1 OdpowiedźI play on Xbox and hardly see Erentil in the crucible

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Babajeeds: 8/11/2019 12:11:34 AMA good Erentil can completely replace your primary if you have enough ammo. You ape with a shotgun, yea you'll beast on people in close quarters. But you will get shot if you ape from a distance. Fusions are nothing like that. You have to play almost perfectly to avoid this thing. You gotta admit this is a good point. I'm sure you could kill someone across the main corridor on Endless vale. Why would you need a primary when your special weapon can do that? Just reduce the range a bit.

1 OdpowiedźI have a near max range epicurean but i not a shitbag who uses it i cant stand fusion rifles take to long

It's not even in the top five weapons. I bet you killed by Dustrock more.

4 OdpowiedziHaven't you shotgun noobs already nerfed Fusion Rifles in the first Destiny? You aren't doing it again.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Oinkthebaconking: 8/10/2019 11:42:33 PMNow you're on my list of dumb asses. I thought you had more sense than to propose a change that would make shotguns unstoppable. I'll say it again... it NEVER makes the list of meta weapons on Destinytracker. You're just mad because someone is better than you with a skilled weapon. If it wasn't skilled, you'd be using it and wouldn't be complaining. Btw, before you start complaining about crutch weapons with no counter, drop that Wardcliff out of your character.

1 OdpowiedźTo answer the question from your edit, people are sick and f’in tired of crybabies whining on the forums when they can’t figure out how to overcome a weapon / super / exotic armor that their play style leaves them vulnerable to. So they come here and whine for it to be nerfed. What happens when this behavior is left unchecked? Bland neutered weapons like we had when D2 launched. Personally I HATE OEM so much I refuse to use it on my Titan, but I don’t want it nerfed and won’t make a post about it being unbalanced. I just change tactics when faced against a player who is decent with it.
-
Yes the erentil is exceedingly good stat wise. However, I personally think that much of its success comes from the current meta of shotgun rushers/ recluse spammers. It is the communities response to a stale meta. My suggestions for a nerf / adjustment include (if anything does end up happening): increasing the shot spread, decreasing the effectiveness of stability perks, ever so slightly decrease the damage per bolt (this may not be needed depending on the previous two options), and possibly reducing the amount of ammo that can be granted via scavenger perks. I think that these changes would be healthy to the meta and still allow them to fulfill their roles as a counter for excessive rushing.

18 OdpowiedziHere’s a downvote. There are many guns you can use in the middle slot capable of the 1HK. Sure Erentil is one. So is Beloved, so is Mindbenders, So is LoW. Point is there are many guns, that depending on the player’s skill level, will allow them to compete and get kills. I wrote a thesis yesterday to a noob just like you about why nerfs are a detriment to the game as a whole. Give your head a shake and while you’re at it Git Gud.

There are so many other good fusion rifles out there. That do the same thing. Get a few streamers saying this one is so good.
-
I had a 77 Wizard in Destiny 1 that worked the same way. It was a one-shot weapon with autorifle range. Using it, I was actually almost good in Crucible.
-
Nerf it!! Nerf it to ground!!!

Nerf fusion rifles

Suck my Erentil.

Let me guess full auto max range shotguns with pump action aren't?

6 OdpowiedziThe charge time is awful. Very easy to avoid.

Kinda feel upset to have a Warlock that only uses Fusions for special weapons really. That's been his thing since the beginning and now finally there's Fusion relevancy with only ones that are a little over the top. Like really, I feel plenty of users are only using it for Meta reasons
-
Frankly, errentil is just at the spot of being a decent fusion. Fusions are obviously going to be really good in this meta because everybody's used to rushing around with shotguns, so most people don't have a decent mid range option. Most other fusions, however, are kinda bad as guns. Errentil, being the best among them, gets a lot of flack because it can do the things a fusion should be able to do. Errentil is still easy to beat though, you just need to outposition the person. It's not like equipping the gun wins fights, you need to be at least somewhat skillful with it. Btw, this is coming from someone who almost never uses fusions, including errentil. I have no personal stake in whether or not it is nerfed other than that I think it shouldn't be.
