The bad juju grind is God awful on its own but I get why Bungie did it the way they did it, for stupid streamers who don't use planetary mats and have a million of em.
However, after spending a week grinding for stuff, I learned I could've actually have gotten it day 1 with no issues with a cheese.
I am unabashedly, unashamedly saying that I would've taken that cheese all day.
I did a nightfall with full leviathan gear (armor anyway), and got 5%. That means 20 nightfalls for one tribute.
3% per strike, and the same for the others.
That is hundreds of events that I have to grind for a single damn gun.
I can pay for it with glimmer, except you need 20 days of completing 4 dailies (without dying) before you can even hope to afford it unless you've played 5000 hours in the game and have thousands of mats laying around.
If I had known I could get what is ultimately a fun but middle of the road exotic on day one with a little bit of patience, I would have, because the alternative (for non sweaties who don't play this game like a job) is weeks of grinding the same activities we've mostly had since day 1.
Not only that, but these are events we've been grinding for years, especially if you've been here since D1.
I've already done Leviathan raids (Leviathan and EOW) dozens of times with leviathan raid gear equipped. I've already done a metric ton of strikes and nightfalls. I've (unfortunately) been forced into this game's poisonous PvP hundreds of times for quests and daily/weekly engrams, suffering through while bad sports super you to death after the match is over and IT STILL SOMEHOW COUNTS TOWARD YOUR K/D. Full clans vs randoms, Luna Howl, all the horseshit this game had thrown at me and I've marched through hoping the good times will come eventually.
You know what sucks? Trying to bank 20 motes without dying while playing with a fire team full of people who also need to bank 20 motes without dying.
All while wearing or otherwise owning gear I've had since late 2017, early 2018.
And now I'm being asked to do it again for an unreasonable amount of time for a single damn gun (without the catalyst, which requires nearly 3 times as many tributes) while some people get to skip it because they found an easier and better way to do it?
Keep in mind we're doing all this for a gun many of us already freaking had in D1 and this grind is taking place 20 days during the summer. I'm 32 so that doesn't matter much to me, but I feel for the teenagers who get to waste their summer vacation on this nonsense.
I would've done the cheese if I'd known about it without blinking. "Real gamer blah blah" nonsense be damned. I'm not doing anything I haven't done before and I've no shit done everything Bungie wants me to do to get this gun already.
Soemtimes, I really hate this stupid game.
*edit*
You can tell in the comment section who plays this game for fun and who plays this game waaaaaay too often. Getting bad juju in 4 hours or a couple days tops? Ugh, the top 1%-ers are really annoying on this topic. We don't all have 100s of mats and max glimmer, nor have we all been grinding managerie like rabid hounds ya jerks!
*Final edit*
Omg the try hards have such a boner for words like "hard" and "fear". The quest not difficult and it's not fear of missing out. It's boring and irritating to earn tributes for crap you've already done before. How people keep getting irritation mixed up with difficulty is beyond me because those words don't even remotely mean the same thing. Literacy rates among some of you are surprisingly low. Also, if you have thousands of shards just sitting around, you are part of the 1%, you are not casual and you are not normal. Stop pretending like you are.

Could have bought Hawthorne’s gear to lower your power around 500 and ran volundr forge just die, fail, repeat while your afk 3 days worth of that and had 6,000 of both data lattice and dusklight shards the beauty of it no effort and you get matched with players doing the same thing
-
6 OdpowiedziWell Spider makes this whole process waaaaay more bearable. I managed a lot of the ones that way, and afk farming the forges is real easy mode.
-
1 OdpowiedźIt was pretty easy for me. I completed it in 1 hour and a half without the cheese.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Nell421: 7/13/2019 11:25:19 PMYou don't really need that much mats or glimmer lol, you just needed to remember that on some days spider sells materials + glimmer for legendary shards and to buy them on that day. With the amount of crap legendaries that this game throws at you I'm sure that most people have plenty of shards. You went about it the hard way grinding the triumphs, so I'm sorry about that, but a far, far easier way would have been immediately apparent to you had you watched literally any half-decent guide on youtube. Once I went through my vault from playing since ~febuary and cleaned out stuff I was sitting on a pile of around 300+ legendary shards, which was way more than I actually needed to unlock bad juju using materials. Granted, when I'm not at uni I do play a lot, but when I am I often can't play much for spans of a few weeks when work/exams hit so I don't think this exotic is in anyway difficult to obtain for the average player. I'm having much more difficulty getting Outbreak Prime because most people in lfg seem to expect you to know the mission and I am too stupid to understand it just by watching videos :(

I don't mind too much, got plenty of time this month. Just getting the raid stuff done at the moment.

Edytowany przez użytkownika isaac13d: 7/13/2019 11:15:33 PMThere are a lot of jerks or there now, that's why I'm going around #density to the different posts complaining about the glitch and harvesting salt I do it all for the lols

1 OdpowiedźYou can work hard, or you can work smart. Its up to each individual to choose how to work.

1 OdpowiedźReally...getting the weapon itself is easy. 18 tributes is very doable within a few hours considering most people that have played the game for any time will already have unlocked a lot. Think I only needed to buy like 3 or 4 tributes to get it. The grind for the max tributes....now there's a grind.
-
Eh, money isn't changing hands for this carrot chase, so I have no issues with it. Do it however you please.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Corrick II: 7/13/2019 9:26:26 PMAnd this is why I’m not participating in any of this nonsense. Bungie saw a hole in their content schedule and needed to fill it, so out come the “designers” with their cookie cutters to churn out more of the same “quests” and activities to keep people playing the same thing over and over for D1 gear we had already. I’d laugh if it weren’t so sad. Do yourselves a favor and just stick to what you like doing in this game, you don’t have to put yourselves through this.

How can you decide who plays the game to often? Your doing the Nightfall wrong, it takes the to four. You also can be using new gear and weapons. It's a grind based game, maybe you need to play another type of game.
-
For the strike kills use acrius since it's a leviathan raid exotic and it counts for significantly more
-
It’s only 550 of each planters material and about 700 shards. It’s not that bad
-
Bad Juju is also REALLY easy to get if you play the game regularly.
-
YouTube Pyro Gaming AFK Farming and go outside and enjoy the summer. FYI - I'm 49 with a full time job and I had the weapon day 1. I'm a casual player .. no raid clears EVER but I try to play efficient.
-
2 OdpowiedziThere is honestly plenty of time to finish between now and when the Tribute Hall officially closes. The ones who are complaining currently are the ones who play video games like a job.
-
Yeah i wouldve done it as well. As its gonna be impossible for me. Currently have no armour from menargerie and pieces missing from levithian and unfortunately, due to circumstances, i wont be able to do no more raids. So im not wasting my material on tributrs as no point doing it. Not even for bad juju.

What's destiny without a lil' bit of cheese?

1 OdpowiedźThe mission (solo) is more fun than the gun. You're not missing much
-
Got all 50 tributes within 2 days. Still got 5k shards. 12k bright dust. If you’re a new player or lacking in mats/legendary shards then you shouldn’t even worry about Bad Juju until you’ve gotten at least a 30% discount. It’s not Bungies fault. Blame you fear of missing out on something others have.
-
Me too.
-
All I needed, as it turned out, was about 300 shards and a few trips to Spider. 18 tributes and and a semi easy mission to solo play later and I have Bad Juju.
-
2 OdpowiedziI'm pretty sure I can live without bad juju 🤔 haven't really been focusing on the tribute stuff.
-
1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Jenn: 7/13/2019 8:23:15 PMlol I don’t care if people did it at all. I’m more upset that I rushed to do it the normal way within the first hour of release and now I can’t do it 😂😂

With the over abundance of handcannons in Crucible. The Menagerie nerf. The "Super" Exotics nerfs, the insane grind for this weapon, and other general crap like the ridiculously low-tuned skillbased matchmaking in Crucible (I'm a 1.5 kd guy who dips into PvP when I have to, I otherwise hate it) where I get put up against tryhards who have put 1000s of hours into PvP and arn't max light but just wreck everyone... I'm kinda over Destiny 2 right now. I might come back once I hear that handcannons have been given the scout rifle treatment and are only mediocre in Crucible. At this point, I'm not buying Shadowkeep and I probably going back to Warframe.

Edytowany przez użytkownika isaac13d: 7/13/2019 9:38:17 PMI got the catalyst and the emote in an hour I haven't placed any tribute.🤣 Edit: I just found the emoticons on my phone, did I do it right?
