TL;DR or "I'm a troll and don't want to read because then I can't troll"
Edit 2: Since apparently it needs to be pointed out for some, just read the TL;DR before commenting; otherwise, you are giving me permission to treat you like an ignorant troll. Thanks for playing.

I'm not expecting money back or anything from Bungie as compensation. Would it be nice to get a wicked shader or maybe some silver? Sure!
If there's nothing, there's nothing, but I would like to at least hear something if there is anything confirming or denying such a scandalous inquiry.
Original Post Below
Serious question here:
Since millions of us have sunk hundreds of dollars into continuing with Destiny through the first days of walking the Cosmodrome up to the fall of the tower, will there be something for us?
Mainly with the "New Light" feature where people can just jump in from the beginning. There are LITERALLY hundreds of dollars people have spent upgrading in order to continue forward with Destiny.
I know refunds for everything is a big thing to ask, but at the same time it's always been a really big bummer to pay $100 for day 1 Season Pass and game to see everything for $60 the following year.
Is there anything in the works concerning this or are we just going to have to buck up and move forward because the damage is already done?

With that logic, I should get a refund for every movie I've watched in cinema which was later aired on national TV... I rarely approve of anything Bungie does but your logic is so bad that even I have to stand up for Bungie!

Please refer to the "TL;DR" section of this post. Thank you for giving purpose to the latter portion of that header. Much love ❤

I read the OP. Your post still deserves my response. Think wisely before posting. You are not being trolled, you are being humiliated. No way to hide.
-
Oh that was "reasoning"? I guess I was missing the point there because I've seen a middle school debate team come up with better reasoning and support than that pitiful excuse of a reply. Try to actually have some reason I next time because that humiliation you're talking about? Not feeling it bucko. Thanks for playing, but try again. Get off my posting feed before you hurt yourself trying to think of "reasons" to "humiliate" me. I hate to see maroons hurt themselves like this willingly.
-
Dude, just take it on the chin and admit your shame. Adding edit to your post doesn't make you look better. Your point was conveyed in the worst possible way and it looked like your point. That's your problem. When you got hammered you just turned it into a third person satire. Forum is full of people like you who fall in their mess. Even if I trolled, ar least my point was more worthy than yours.
-
I guess there's no point in trying to argue why I did what I did in the way I did. What's the saying? Don't try to argue with stupid people because they'll only drag you to their level and beat you with their stupidity? Something like that. Thanks for just trying to prove I'm wrong because my reasons suck rather than providing supporting reason to your "reason".
-
They saying goes both way that's why I'm quitting. I'll leave you on your high ground to be humiliated. Doesn't matter what you say, if you can't understand the simplicity in the discussion then you have no hope. Enjoy your existence. It might be worth something someday to you.

Wait so you want them to refund you for content that you’ve been using for months? This isn’t Costco my friend.
-
While it reads like that, yes it does sound like that at first. Did I outright say "I want a refund for all the content I've paid for"? Mmm, no; thanks for playing but not anywhere did I say that exact phrase in my previous post. I just want to know whether there's going to be anything for those that have put in the money. Likely a shader or, putting it way out on the end of the spectrum of possibilities, some bundle of silver as thanks for the lasting support. I get that they can't just refund $300 worth of content to 1 million people (do it once and have to do it for everyone). I just want to know what or if there is anything planned or if we'll just have live with it, which I've already done so for, oh look, 5 years. Not expecting anything, but I am just curious to see if there will be something or not for those that stuck with it.
-
It sure sounds like you’re expecting something. I’ve been playing Bungie games from Marathon until now. Where’s my Shader & Emblem? I should make a post crying about it.
-
Only thing I'd say that I'm "expecting" is a confirmation or anything saying that it probably won't happen. Maybe you should go make a post because then you'd save yourself the time of posting replies to such "silly" and "self-entitled" forum posts. In fact you'd save us all a lot of time. Yeah, I probably should have worded it differently, and it probably is "give me something"-y when first read, but it is a serious question that I'd like to know the answer to.
-
-
Don't worry my guy. They'll prolly give us a shader and maybe an emblem. 😬
-
We did get something. We got all of the Destiny 1 and 2 content up to 5 years before anyone else. I wouldn't say no to some kind of tchotchke for having bought all the content, but I given the age of what's being made free, I don't think what we bought is being devalued enough to matter.
-
I guess to me it's about the principle of things. Pay $100 day 1 for the base and future content (that may or may not suck). Pay $60 day 1 year 2 for the base and all expansions one year after. Yeah it's something a lot of us should have seen coming and expected considering everything that came before, but it's still kind of a crapshoot getting this kind of news. Like, yeah it's great to get a new player base this way and bolster the activity, but if you're willing to slash $40 off after a year and give it with the base game for $60 that's not a good history to look back on. To me that means the released content isn't worth $40 after a year or less of gameplay. I'm not expecting to get any sort of refund concerning this, but I would like to hear what their thoughts are on it. Will there be something we get even if it's a t-shirt (Congratulations for putting up with 5 years of Activision!) or something for us to feel like we're not just getting shagged? If there's not, then oh well. I'd just like to hear some thoughts on the Day 1 Year 1 Destiny Veterans that have been through this wringer time and time again.

Lol...wow. So if you buy a car for 30k brand new and next year that same car is sold for 18k you should receive a t shirt or coffee cup from the dealership because of this?
-
That's how you start your rebuttal? "Lol...wow"? While yeah that makes sense as a comparing metaphor, car dealerships don't exactly have a growing player that comes back every three months or so buying a new car. I'm not expecting them to do anything. I just want to know if they're planning something like a shader or, dare I say, a small bundle of silver??? gasp The absolute audacity to ask for something in return for five years of continued support for a game series let alone almost three for Destiny 2. I get it, not everyone needs something or deserves something. If there's nothing, there's nothing. Pick up the pants and keep on walking. All I want to know is if there's something planned or not. And to answer your question about the car for 30k and the same is sold for 18k a year later? I'd probably go to a used car lot where it's already cheaper and I'll probably know right away whether the car is going to be decent or a paperweight. A little thing called ownership records/Carfax where you can see what repairs, accidents, and other things were done for the vehicle. No Carfax? Probably not going to get that one then.
-
Was shocked. No rebuttal. I believe we did get a few things from D1 to D2 that were tied to accounts so they may do something. Emblems or shaders I think. But I would take a t shirt or coffee mug if it was offered.👍
-
Sorry dude. So use to trolls in here that just want to poke the bear. Hard to tell anymore. They have done a lot, but I just want to know if there is anything planned. Like the moments of triumph shirt or something like that would be really cool, but I don't expect anything more than a shader or at the very least a bundle of silver for the years of support.
-
All good. I am expecting the regular but at the same time if this game turns around, replayable and larger player base, then I will take solace in knowing I helped fund that change. T shirt will probably come around again with Solace, but it would be cool to have an option for the ones who have been here from the beginning to have exclusive access to a "Founders" pack. That would go a long way.
-
You could still get 18k back, people keep using this as an argument. I could still get some money back from a car, if I maintained it, no crashes, still got good mileage on it, I could still get money back. Do you understand this, I can’t get some money back, enough to put a down payment on a new car and start the process over again. What could I do with destiny 2? Nothing, I can’t get anything back, and I’m not arguing for anything back. My point is, stop regurgitating a dumb argument.
-
There would have to be an argument for it to be considered dumb. No such thing here. If you want to use just your point of view that ia cool. So, take your copies of Destiny to your local used game store and trade/sell them and get back whatever you can. Like the car manufacturer, Bungie owes you nothing. It is up to you to get "other" worth out of it. No one else. So as I stated, no t shirt or coffee cup. Sorry!
-
I have digital, I can’t get a refund. Also, you don’t know anything about cars. You can’t just return and get a refund from a dealership. Sales are final unless dealers offer the privilege. There isn’t a federal law that enforces a refund policy on vehicles. So no, not like any car manufacturer, I just can’t simply return the car and get a refund. If it’s defective, they’ll fix it and give it back. So yes, it isn’t my point of view, it’s facts, the car analogy is dumb. I can get money back from a car, I can’t get anything back from destiny.
-
So next time buy a hard copy! As you did your car! No value in digital cars either!👍
-
That still doesn’t get the point across about prime gambit being free, dlc isn’t a hard copy.
