Title. These guns are OP. Anyone who doesn't have them has no chance to compete. Plus, 80% of the people I run into using these weapons are in a 4 or 5 stack, so they're even more likely to win.
Solution, LH and NF are acquired as pinnacle weapons in the competitive playlist. Keep them restricted to the competitive playlist so us quickplay casuals aren't fodder for all the tryhard's multikill youtube videos.
Edit: omg my first top 10 trending post in 5 years on b.net. I'm glad there are people who still have strong opinions on this game. It was nice to wake up to all these notifications. Have a good day.
Edit 2: I like how most naysayers simply say, "Get yourself in a better position then them," or, "Play to your loadouts strengths." Like, do you not think that that's exactly what they are doing? I can't force them to play bad. Yes I can bait them into a disadvantaged team fight, which I do, but it still requires them making a mistake. Basically these posters solution is for me to play mistake free while my opponent with the superior loadout makes lots of mistakes. ffs

Bungie on scouts: Scout Rifles Damage increased for lightweight and rapid-fire families, as well as an increase to all Scout Rifles in PvE. Scout Rifles are always going to be on the lower end of damage due to the safety that their range affords you, but the difference currently between them and other primary weapons is too drastic. As a result, we’re reducing the size of the gap. Yet pulses and some hc’s have similar safe range and are meta.

I got my luna yesterday i suck at using it you really gotta hit them precision hits. When i got the gun i was like yes im a god but then tried landing them precision hits wasn't a god. 😐so for all you that want this gun just know im not good with it yet.

3 OdpowiedziI tried playing Iron Banner, literally nothing but 180 rpm hand cannons. Luna’s leading the march with some especially skilled players bringing Not Forgotten to the table making the loss extra sad.

I earned Luna’s solo. (Don’t have Not Forgotten) I play Crucible solo. And lemme tell ya, they are fantastic guns. However, just because you put a gun in their hands doesn’t make them a marksman. I switch things up and use other weapons and easily out maneuver people with LH/NF. The biggest difference is the TtK. I will admit I feel you for going against stacked teams with people who most likely got the gun because they are good. However, if they worked as hard as I did to get the weapons, I think deserve to have that bump in power. It’s a pinnacle weapon that should feel powerful. But it does have just as much room for error as other weapons. You just gotta switch things up, try different weapons, different classes. Look up builds, have fun with it. The point is to have fun with some competition. Unfortunately there are those who are seriously hardcore with stacks of people, which is why they should add a solo quest playlist, but no matter what, there will be people better than you. People better than me (plenty of them). I’d say work towards getting LH/NF for yourself, chill out with a group of friends, or just take a break from the game in general. You want to have fun with the game. TLDR: Have fun, the weapons are pinnacle and notgoijg away, change up your play style, add a solo que playlist, have fun with the game.

I have Luna but I hardly even use it anymore because I like using different loudouts and I have no problem dealing with other Luna/Nf users.

8 OdpowiedziMust be just my rng, but I seriously don’t get killed that often by the PvP pinnacle weapons. I die plenty, but I die to a pretty wide variety of weapons. Maybe my bow is just a good counter to those and I’m killing those players first. I don’t really care what you’re using if you’re dead. I’m a so-so player and personally don’t see a big issue in valor game modes.
-
18 OdpowiedziI'd say the problem here is you don't see the skill gap. These players are literally better than you. They were rewarded for proving how good and how determined they are. These players would dome you without the luna...because they are better than you.
-
They made Luna’s too easy to get in my opinion. There are a number of guns that can compete though especially at range. I don’t think they should be nerfed or restricted to playlists, it’s a pinnacle reward and deserves to be powerful.
-
They're not op at all. Learn to strafe, crouch and be unpredictable when in a gunfight. If they don't hit two straight crits the gun is a normal 180. I have luna's but barely use it. I usually have a sniper in that slot or polaris and I do fine.
-
The maps are the biggest reason, there are very limited options when engaging a group of opponents, back in D1 the maps were larger and you had many more options on how and where to flank enabling multiple players to flank on multiple sides.... trying to engage multiple LH users on one front is just slaughter.
-
Actually, petulant children have ruined this franchise. So, thanks for contributing to it's demise.

7 OdpowiedziThe key to winning those fights is crouching and jumping so they miss their shots. 3 shot turns into 4 shot. Get better at corner peaking with a bow, and team shot. Those guns excel at mid range combat, you'll never win. I recommend a blast furnace pulse rifle. I have no issues whipping people with lunas or NF. The reality is they are pub stomper guns, you get caught with your pants down and you're dead.

I don’t have Luna’s howl, I find it really easy to counter. I went against a five stack in iron banner, I was around 625 they were probably all 650. He killed me once with Luna’s howl. One because I changed my play style to counter it.

6 OdpowiedziI definitely get capped by those two hand cannons more than any other. That's because they are milestone weapons rooted deeply in Crucible play. I also cap people who use them with a PvE Kindled Orchid (currently three shot with one I mainly use with Surrounded/Explosive Payload) and if I switch to my PvP one (Rampage/Kill Clip) it's a wrap. If I notice a large clan running them, I switch to bows and snipers and play the long distance game. Play with alternatives and find something that suits you at longer ranges, because they certainly aren't going to.

4 OdpowiedziHere we go again. A good gun that is worth grinding for becomes the bane of the players that can’t/won’t get it. This is the reason exotic weapons were neutered in d1, and it is also the reason weapons had fixed stats beginning d2. To compound the matter, when faced with such odds players quit matches. This opens a slot for some other poor guardian to get dropped into. People cry about quitters and post about being dropped into a losing match facing multiple copies of the “meta/op” weapon. There is no solution because when you make half your audience cheer, the other half are booing. Unfortunately you are up a creek because even if they nerf the Luna’s howl, there will be another weapon to replace it in the meta. And the cycle begins again. If you play solo like so many players do, maybe you should be asking for a solo only game mode rather than entering a team based match expecting anything other than a team of opponents.

I don’t mind them, but here is the problem; as comp is right now you match players at the same tier of points as you regardless of kd/ elo, win percentages, or skill at the game, if you have 1000 you will match 1,000s, even if they acquired not forgotten the previous season. If you have teams of 2,000s carrying one at 50 sometimes it will pin them against 2,000s, sometimes it will match them with players around 1,000. You see where I’m getting at? And this is without mentioning 4 stacks, 3 stacks , 2 stacks and solo playing. The only constant variable I’ve had playing since Tuesday is going against Lunas Howl users every single match, when I’m just trying to get mines. Even prior to Tuesday its been the case but its almost like every player who aqquired it last season decided to return to comp to either get not forgotten , moutaintop, or in an attempt to carry/ help out friends who havent had the gun, and because they havent played since the previous season the games like “ ok you’re a 1,000 point tier player despite reaching 2100+ last season so I’m going to match you against other 1,000 tier players, regardless. I figured since I’ve been trying to get the headshot kills the last 2 days it would mess with my performance but idk, I’ve been using mostly trust for as for as I can remember and on Monday I managed to get 900 points playing solo, with clanmates and players on my friends list, keeping most variables the same I attempted the same once Reset hit and managed to get steamrolled, I just figured many players returned to comp since theres more traffic during reset time in comparison to the last day of the reset week. Or I just figured I was having a bad day or two:

11 OdpowiedziDude, i do crucible matches if iron banner is here with the guns i like and for milestones. In no way is not forgotten and luna’s howl OP. Not only do they take effort to achive and aquire but they also perform just as well as a trust or a AoS. They are not dust rock blues, or ISG, or chaperone good, Because those weapons lack any sort of counter play. If you want to ‘keep up’ with players who use a strong (not OP) crucible weapon, go grind out a trust or a cerberus +1, they do exceptionally well.

I have Luna but I hardly even use it anymore because I like using different loudouts and I have no problem dealing with other Luna/Nf users.

3 OdpowiedziThe problem I see is generally the better players are going to get these guns, the players who already have a great aim, great positioning and who nail a lot of headshots. So now instead of getting 3 shotted by a great player with Ace of Spades with enough time to move or maybe fight back, I’m getting three shotted in an absolutely ridiculously quick amount of time by Luna’s/NF. The gun is too strong in the hands of great players.

1 OdpowiedźThe people that have Luna's howl have earned the right to use them

3 OdpowiedziI am grinding slowly for these guns. But I have bad feeling I will probably stick with my trust.

No Way! Bygones has ruined crucible! It should stay in gambit....
-
In principle they disgust me. It doesn’t make sense to me that in a game so focussed on balance that these weapons should be inherently better than others of their class without a drawback (e.g, exotic status). In practice, however, I find them slightly annoying but aren’t really bothered that much.
