But I really love the way that it has brought a big part of the community together to solve the puzzle, just so those who aren’t smart enough or dedicated enough to solve the cryptic stuff inside of Niobe Labs can play new content. It’s a really cool concept, and I personally hope to see more content like this in the future.
And to address the toxic people I know will probably end up on this post:
No, I don’t think that the activity caters to streamers. I won’t agree with you on the topic, so don’t bother flooding the post with the same old regurgitated arguments that make absolutely no sense.

If they didn’t tie the start of the 4th forge to it, fine.

6 OdpowiedziSmart enough or dedicated enough? Does getting a team of people to google something make someone smart? Does playing a game (which i understand are some of these people's 'jobs') show dedication? This puzzle had nothing on the Outbreak Prime quest. It was non-obstructive and was solved by the wider community as a collective. This seems very insular in comparison.

1 OdpowiedźTalks about 'bringing the community together'. Goes on to insult community as 'not smart enough' for niobe

2 OdpowiedziTo quote another person with a brain. "These kinds of puzzles are great when they're hidden inside of content in a way that only the more curious players will find it. However, to introduce this kind of puzzle as the sole piece of content until it is finished is a poor decision and public opinion show the effect of this on the community." And the effect on the community is that most people are -blam!-ing off to do their milestones because we cannot and will not be bothered with something designed for streamers or community icons alone.
-
There's a big difference between "big part of the community" and "select few". It seems more like 99.9% of the players were left waiting for others to figure it out.

I’m with you mate. Don’t watch streamers but follow r/raidsecrets, and it’s been another example of a (largely non toxic) community coming together to solve a problem. My only criticism would be resetting back to level 1 every wipe. Does mean the amount of time needed to clear was very high. Other than that, all good!

It was a really good concept on paper, but the problem is that whenever Bungie tries applying something in practice they tend to get some of the important parts scrambled up or just plain wrong. That being said, the change that Bungie is making is the right course of action at this point. Had this puzzle been something on the side along with the forges it would’ve been a welcome addition, but for it to have been the lock behind the last one wasn’t a particularly good choice, especially given how they tried to be as vague as possible at it while wanting to complicate it enough to be a challenge for the mindlabs over in Reddit. I’m not sure if you’ve yet seen the Reddit page that was checking off the forges prior, but it was an absolute mess with folks making guesses every which way until a group finally got the right ones. It’s a similar issue with how Sleeper Simulant was handled in D1, just under a different direction. The community knew of the Ikelos Core for a long time and went every which (wrong)way to find it, but rather than having the startup for the quest out there and ready to be solved like an actual treasure hunt, Bungie made the decision to timegate it, something that went against what the community was hoping for.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Smough: 1/9/2019 7:11:38 PMHow much does bungie pay you? I’m looking for a new job opportunity. I must agree that bungie is good at bringing the community together... Even though they only come together to bash bungie.

1 OdpowiedźBy "big part of the community" do you mean the dozen or so streamers and then maybe 100 other hardcore fanboys helping the streamers? Meanwhile about 500k others are pissed off and another 300-500k just don't even give a shit. Lol

I agree 👍🏻

The community spams the forum on Sundays "There is nothing to do , i'll quit I swear on me mum " Bungie introduces an activity that isn't instant gratification and requires teamwork . "There is too much to do , I'll quit " ?????

3 OdpowiedziWhen bungie puts a link to twitch in the twitter announcement for the new content with an invitation to watch "the best and brightest" beat it, then it was absolutely created for streamers as a stunt to boost twitch ratings.
