Imagine how you would feel living with somebody, and paying for 88% of the bills for services you both use, and then having them constantly piss and moan about how you aren't paying enough.
I'm not saying that would make them an ungrateful moocher but... oh wait yes I am.

6 OdpowiedziDid you know that 82% of all stats are made up?
-
It’s sounds about right given the top 20% owns 90% of the wealth in the US.
-
Cool? The people who aren’t “paying” for the services as much are also the people who have trouble paying for basic things, whereas those at the top have a multitude of luxuries even with the taxes they pay. Are you really going to act like the “moral” side here is in favor of the people who could pay for the necessities of all of the poor and still live luxurious lives? And of course the poor use more of the services. There’s a lot more of them (you know, because of wealth disparities) and...uh...they need them (or do I need to explain “poor”?) That’s a bit disingenuous to act like people actually just want the rich to pay more, though certainly many have the sort of simplistic outlook. Realistically, what they want is overall more and better quality services. Who would expect to pay for that? The ones who need them? If they could pay for it, they wouldn’t need the services in the first place. Such unrealistic idealism completely ignores the practical aspects of taxation. Services exist because people pay for them, and those who need them need them because they can’t pay for them. You can’t just get something out of nothing, buddy.

14 OdpowiedziConsidering that the very top has ninety percent of the wealth in America, I would say they need to be paying more.
-
Well if everyone pays the same percentage of their income then of course most will be paid by a few. What's your point here? Our way is much better tho, if someone earns below average they pay a smaller percentage and if someone is making loads of money they pay a higher percentage. Pays for little things like health care and education.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Partisan: 1/9/2019 9:45:44 PMIf you really are committed to defending the whole "make the rich pay their fair share" thing (and you shouldn't be), then you might as well find a certain senator/Stalinist who has actually developed that talking point and then just copy and paste what he says If you're a Conservative but also want to talk about making people pay their "fair share", then worry not, because it's such an ambiguous term that I have some great material for you too my dudes If you're a Libertarian, then just keep yelling into the void about how taxation is theft If, instead, you are super rad and everyone claps when you walk in the room because of just how rad you are, then maybe just talk about taxes as a way to fund the thing you want and don't really worry about fair shares

ITT: people shifting the goalposts from "the rich need to pay more in taxes" to "the gap in wealth is too great". Amazing mental gymnastics on display.
-
Sounds to me like overly disproportionate wealth spread. The rich wouldnt have to shoulder as much of the burden if the masses were better off.
-
not familiar with murricahs tax system but dont the figures just show that the gap between the few EXTREMELY rich people and the rest is absurdly high? theres also a difference if you make 50.000 per year and pay 10% taxes or you make billions and pay 10% taxes. in both examples you pay exactly the same percentual amount BUT at a certain income/wealth it does not really affect you that much anymore.

14 OdpowiedziSo... people who make the most money pay the most taxes? And that's bad?

1 OdpowiedźAgain, the fact that you cite to a blatantly biased source completely undercuts your argument. Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), is a conservative organization founded by a GOP lobbiest with ties to convicted criminal Jack Abramoff. ATR is heavily involved in lobbying efforts focused on keeping taxes for wealthy and corporations to a minimum. They were a main driver in GOP tax plan which cut taxes for wealthy and corporations permanently by 19%, while only providing middle/lower classes w a temporary tax credit, which expires in 4 years. The group, which has a budget in the millions, is funded by contributions from wealthy individuals and major corporations. Considering all of this, it is clear that any information from ATR is highly biased and completely subjective. Their only aim is to ensure that wealthy and corporations pay as little tax as possible. All of their efforts and information is driven by this one goal.

The bottom line is this country is producing a lot more poorer people then it has since early 1900s robber baron era. In Hawaii low income housing starts at $90,000.00. Think about how outrageous that is.

I could probably afford to pay more if theyd, you know, pay me more.
