This is that "thin air" you're referring to. Notice that you use the word "my" a lot. You also use the word "frustrating" a lot. So, one could deduce-- ESPECIALLY someone as brilliant as yourself, you know, since you have a design degree and all 😉-- that you are referring to your personal experiences playing the game. And one might take that deduction further and conclude that your experiences with this game are frustrating. So my only logical step after that is to explain to you that your emotional takeaway or even dissatisfaction is, again, not a universally applicable fact.
