If you need help with the Ace of Spades quest...
...and I happen to be on the opposing team in Gambit or Crucible, message me or invite me to a party! I'll let you farm kills off me. Paying it forward...
I'd like to take a moment to thank "Nike" (not real gamertag), a guardian who was kind enough to let me farm hand cannon kills off him in Gambit, thus concluding my two-week-long, overly-frustrating attempt to finish that freaking quest step. You're awesome, my man. Credit where it's due--you're the only reason I progressed.
Ditto for "V" (also not real gamertag), who let me farm headshots off him in Crucible. Since I was averaging less than one headshot per game prior to that, you saved my sanity on a big way. You rock.
...as for you, Bungie, y'all are d!¢k$. I hate PvP to begin with, and you gave me a quest step to get kills with a short-range weapon in the predominately long-range setting of Gambit? I actually thought Gambit had promise until I had to deal with that...now I don't want to play it anymore. And THEN I had to get precision kills with a hand cannon in Crucible--news flash, chowderheads, that's not my play style (I'm a scout/auto/range player, and I'm not a fan of Crucible to begin with) and I think whoever came up with this dumb@$$ quest should get fired.
Nike and V: I thank you profusely. Bungie: **** you. Go sit on a cactus.
Edit: added "not real gamertags" to avoid confusion with those who think I'm in violation of the ToS...thought the quotes were sufficient, but some didn't think so!
Edit #2: Gotten a lot of questions about why I want this gun if it's "not my play style." Clarification: in the CRUCIBLE, it's not my play style. I use anything and everything in PvE and will switch guns mid-activity depending on where I am and what I'm doing. In Crucible, I'm strictly scout/auto/rocket, scout/shotty/rocket, or auto/shotty/rocket because those are the only guns I can be competitive with and I've been running those latter builds since D1Y1. (Okay, I used Mythoclast a lot, even post-nerf, but I consider that more of an auto than a fusion rifle.)
Edit #3: Anyone else having problems with the Ace in the Hole story mission? The bleeping thing keeps freezing on me and I gotta restart Destiny 2 just to get it working again, but my progress is lost...anyone working the quest that would like to run it with me?
Edit #4: Five story crashes (and about thirty minutes of straight cussing) later, I finally have the Ace of Spades! Heading to Gambit/Crucible to try this out...if you see me and you need help, hit me up!
Edit #5 (last one, I promise...): Wow, there's a lot of guardians out there willing to help! Since we're trending, now, a few final hints...read through for the volunteers; also, apparently there's a secret code from Reddit that says if you sit down in the transit room in Gambit, that means you're farming hand cannon kills. A lot of people swear by Sturm/Drang combo; use Drang to overcharge Sturm and use Sturm for Gambit. Hope this helps, guys! See you in the game!

1 OdpowiedźYour hearts in the right place but it doesn't quite sound fair to the other guys on your team who came to try and win. I actually completed my Ace of Spades quest last night (love that gun). And I'll be the first to admit I had a knee jerk reaction to this quest step. To be honest the Forsaken was out for the first week and it's easy to feel daunted by this task at face value. The reality is it's not meant to be completed in one or two matches. It's something to pursue over time. Once I had my head wrapped around that concept I grabbed my Crimson and just plugged away at it. Sure I lost a lot of invader fights but eventually I got the drop on one or two. Some were just guys I fought one on one and they just happened to be average players just like me and I won those too (albeit by a narrow margin). I just kept plugging away and I think I got it done within 10 matches or less. The important thing is I felt like I accomplished something and I did it on my own. It could have very easily taken way more matches but I had to have the right mindset that it would happen eventually. That's what these exotic quests are for and if you just hand them over you kind of rob someone of an opportunity to have that "moment". Just my two cents worth.

2 OdpowiedziI’m not trying to be a party pooper, but isn’t that considered griefing? And isn’t that a bannable offense? You’re handicapping your team (of randoms), which are probably playing to win. People need to realize that Destiny is a PvE AND PvP game, so mixed questlines are bound to be around. If you want something cool and shiny, you gotta work for it.

1 OdpowiedźI used to let people head shot me for one of the destiny 1 exotic hand canon quest. I think I gave away a total of 200+ headshots to people. That’s why my k/d was so crappy. But good for you, your stats is not important, it what you can prove that is more important and it is that you’re a decent human being.

I just can't get the final blow with my hand cannon. Either my teammates score the final blow (in a team shoot situation), or whatever I use to soften them up (like smoke bomb) steals the final blow while I'm pounding them with my hand cannon. The over shield means no 1v1 gun fight. You either need a team shoot situation or something to soften them up, you can't just kill them with your hand cannon alone.

3 OdpowiedziDuke mk 44 mate. I hadnt played pvp in literal months because i HATE PVP in this game. Finished gambit reqirement in 4 matches and crucible requirements in 3. HC have more range than you think. Hang behind teamates, one shot the enemies they weaken or fail to finish off. But honestly? If thats how you got it done, more power to ya. In a co op game, if someone is willing to take a fall to help someone having trouble, who the -blam!- cares? Not anyone that matters. Enjoy those spicy reload bullets 👌

4 OdpowiedziFeeding is a ban-able offense. If you go in and throw your gambit games you should be banned from gambit. The Nike guy should be banned from gambit and V should be banned from crucible if they really fed you headshots. It isn’t Bungie’s fault that some players aren’t good enough to do quests. This game is finally rewarding skilled players and not being a casual snore fest that year 1 was.
