Hottakes from patch 2.0.0

I've got a few hours in now with the new patch and I thought I'd start a discussion beyond "oooohhhh machine guns" and "ahhhh we can talk". Below are my first impressions. A few things about special ammo. 1: why spawn with two shots per weapon? why not a whole clip? what is the reasoning behind 2 shots. 2: why can my teammates pick up the ammo dropped by opponents I kill? If you are using a shotgun this isn't so much a problem, but anything with some range and you'll find your ammo gone by the time you get over to it. 3: why are guns in the primary slot taking special ammo. I mean great they are in the primary slot and I can run 3 snipers or 3 shotguns, but the primary slot should be what you have a lot of ammo for and your secondary should be the "scarce" ammo. A lot more can be said on ammo economy but lets move on to Weapons: Single shot launchers feel pretty good right now. Shotguns are back in a big way. Right now everyone is slide/shotgun as a primary. Swords: why is this a heavy? Kills in the same distance as shotguns only you have to think about it. Should have been a secondary. Fusion rifles? I'll let you know when i see one. Snipers: flinch is still too much for how little ammo you have. Moreover, due to the special ammo economy, you will be out of ammo no matter what 95% of the time. Even a great sniper will land two headshots and look at the ammo dropped halfway across the map and wonder how you're supposed to get it. It'll be gone by the time you get over there, most likely from teammates stealing it. Sidearms: 3 burst is still great but slightly inconsistent. Submachine guns: still awesome. Map design: The maps in the current roster are clearly not designed for 1HK weapons to have such long up times. They are mostly designed with CQB in mind but with what used to be called primary weapons. You'll find the effectiveness of shotguns on most of these maps to be extremely good. Lets hope the foresaken maps have a more D1 feel in scope. General crucible: Respawn timer: Really? Was this needed? Maybe i'm just nitpicking, but it really bugs me that I can't respawn right away anymore. Lag: Perhaps its just the whole 2.0.0 patch coming online, but lag has been VERY prevalent in my matches. Especially noticeable now that there are abundant 1HK options. SBMM: It's definitely back in effect for QP. Specifics: "Milestones" now only reward ONE powerful piece of gear? why? Seems petty. Fighting lion is obsolete. Not only does it not do as much damage as other single shot launchers, but its essential perk (that it was a special weapon in the first place) is taken away by all the better single shot launchers in its place. More to come as the discussion continues. Also, I welcome more input.
