After watching the Forsaken reveal today, I thought many of the new additions (supers, raid, gambit, etc.) were pretty cool. In my mind, I was glad that Bungie was actually changing, but part of me thought that maybe they are too late. I was considering getting this DLC until I heard the price and the whole thing about the annual pass. While many people will argue that this DLC is worth $40 since TTK was $40 and this DLC seems to hold more content, I still believe that this DLC is not worth $40. If this DLC was $20 or even $30, I would feel as though Bungie is actually trying to prove to the community they are not just after money. However, their words during the reveal seem to prove they are only still after money. I get that they are a company after all, however, you would think after their flops with their last two DLC's they'll at least try to bring back players at an understandable price point. I find it also ridiculous that the past two DLC's are REQUIRED to play Forsaken. Many people will argue that the Forsaken still looks promising, and I cannot argue with that. After all, this is just a trailer and things are not completely set in stone yet.
However, what the community really needs to worry about is the annual pass. Based on what was said in the reveal, the annual pass seems to be new content without a story aspect to it, like new gear, challenges, etc. but without a physical story like Warmind or Osiris (EDIT: They said it would be less story driven, not completely void of story. But my point is still the same). My main problem with this is that we as players should not have to pay for this content. Content, like the one promised by the annual pass, is something gamers should not be paying for. This type of content is something Bungie should be implementing for free to keep player engaged with their game. The fact that we have to buy DLC and then pay for more content, in order to continue enjoying the game is actually ridiculous.
Before many of you jump on and say that we do not have to buy the annual pass or that nothing is set in stone yet, I must say I agree. It is true that nothing is 100 percent complete yet. However, we as a community should really stop and analyze what Bungie is doing. After blindly buying DLC for years, I've come to a point where I realized that Bungie could actually make a fun game that we could all enjoy. Yet they continue to only think about the money and ways that they can continuously juice money out of gamers. Like many have already stated in the forum, let's all wait and see what Bungie actually does. Let's not get too hasty and let us actually see if they're "promises" come to fruition. The ball is in your court Bungie. We as a community want to know what will you do.
I interested in hearing what the community thinks as well.

1 OdpowiedźDon't forget the fact that Forsaken requires the Year 1 DLC's as well.

2 OdpowiedziI agree 100%. Forsaken looks interesting. The annual pass is shitting on a community that has made the mistake of buying a beta for too long. D2 was not a complete game upon launch. Neither DLC completed the experience. I still had some fun, but it was missing any sort of cohesive story element that actually made sense in the big picture that is Destiny. It seemed like a “Lego Destiny” movie, and not Destiny. Too dumbed down, too much comedy, not enough meat on the bones.

1 OdpowiedźThe annual pass is for those players that want a little more, it’s for the hobby player, hardcore player. Nothing more

2 OdpowiedziOne big flaw in your argument is stating there won't be story. Which they DID NOT say. They said that they aren't leaning as heavily on CINEMATIC stories, and more on stories told while in the action. For example? The stories told in strikes, which have ZERO cinematics.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Nimue: 6/6/2018 10:22:59 PMAnnual pass is a joke. I love all these people saying “omg its a $10 dlc get jobs lol” wtf do you think bungie will put in a $10 dlc? They charged that much for an emote! Those “dlc” will have nothing but weapons that already existed and eververse items. And maybe another raid lair, which is already SOOO successful. Its sickening to see this entire bullshit cycle again. “Omg this game is saved its so good yes!” Then those same people are here the day after the dlc releases complaining about all those awesome things they thought they were getting but never did. The annual pass is nothing but updates to the game that should already be done whether paid for or not.

2 OdpowiedziDo u work for free? Other games like gta5, fortnite, cod, etc charge like $20 just for things like skins or a couple pvp maps. Bungie has a team of hundreds that work to develop the game, they should get paid right? Quit being a douche
-
1 OdpowiedźSee what the fanboys say when they have to pay for the updates they think they have already paid for.
-
they know the game is on a decline (due to their own fault) , now they trying to milk the remaining players as much as possible on their way out

6 OdpowiedziHow is it a money grab. Why do you think your entitled to months of their hard work for little to nothing?
-
6 OdpowiedziDear Bungie, Please work 70 to 100 hrs a week for free. I hate spending my money on things I enjoy. I need money so I can buy other things too ya know. This game should be free and I should get everything I want for free. Dont tell me to get a job.

1 OdpowiedźThis has all been said before but with a lot less words. Maybe summarize a bit

1 OdpowiedźCurse of osiris should be free it added so little to the game. Argos is the only thing that was worth playing curse for and even then that wasn’t much. Cool boss fight for sure but not worth 20$ for (also like to point out how meaningless the infinite forest was and remains to be even with them being super excited over it)
-
2 OdpowiedziI find destiny to be fun and my money well spent, therefore I am inclined to disagree with your claim

OMG look at this kid He is being Hardly forced to pay these expansions He got his back to the wall He must pay it He got no choice

i m glad i chose to pay for the arma bundle 20$ (3 game and dlc ).. instead of pre ordering this "stuff" bungie try to sell

3 OdpowiedziThe annual pass seems like a way to get around the loot box fiasco within eververse. Hopefully when we complete forsaken, tess gets locked up for her crimes with everyone else in cayde’s prison.

4 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Dayknight: 6/6/2018 11:51:43 AMHold on you said the annual pass seems to be new content without a story aspect?? Thats just a bold assumption. Every dlc has had some sort of story to it. Whether it be good or bad. Just to add i dont plan on preordering.
-
23 Odpowiedzii dont see the problem with the annual pass, its new content, dlc level content. they have to charge for the product they make, thats just business. the stuff in the annual pass isnt just patches or small updates. its actual DLC without story, like they said. i dont think theyre milking anyone, i think theyre just making money and charging for the product they make, like a company does.
-
2 OdpowiedziDestiny 3 will be monthly subscription in my view This looks like a step towards that. That is how I think Bungie want it to go and fits with their "hobby" theme.

1 OdpowiedźUnfortunately they have to pay for their annual 3 week vacations in December.
