Faction Rallies is set to return at 10 AM on 6/5. Last week we covered the majority of changes to the event, but there were a few housekeeping notes for the Renown system that we wanted to make available:
• Players cannot fast travel when having stacks of Renown
• Returning to Orbit removes Renown
• Players may accrue Renown while playing Escalation Protocol, when completing Public Events
Destiny Update 1.2.1 brought improvements to Faction Rallies for Season 3. Back in March, the Seasons team discussed their overall goals for the event. Today, we’ll revisit those goals and outline the changes that have been made to achieve them.

Pledging to a faction should be a meaningful choice.
• Players may now only pledge to one faction per account during a Faction Rallies event
• Reputation progress is retained through multiple events, and it will not be reset during the season, even if a player changes allegiance
• Each faction offers unique rewards, such as Exotic armor ornaments or Masterwork Catalysts for Exotic weapons
• We are planning to host three Faction Rallies events over the course of Season 3

• Dead Orbit will offer the Eye of Another World ornament and the Graviton Lance Catalyst
• New Monarchy will offer the Crest of Alpha Lupi ornament and the Sweet Business Catalyst
• Future War Cult will offer the Knucklehead Radar ornament and the Sunshot Catalyst
Seasonal Vendor Progression
• Each faction now features ranks, which players can reach by earning faction tokens
• Faction rank-up rewards will continue to grant Legendary armor and weapons past Rank 30
• Dead Orbit
• New Monarchy
• Future War Cult
Faction Rallies should provide a unique gameplay experience and not simply be a reward layer on top of the existing game. Additionally, these events should build interest in Lost Sectors and armor ornament objectives.
• Faction Rallies now features the “Renown” system
• After pledging to a faction, players may earn Renown by completing a public event or patrol, or by defeating high-value targets on destinations
• Players who loot a Lost Sector with Renown active will receive significantly more faction tokens than usual—the more stacks of Renown they have, the more faction tokens they earn
• Renown is lost when players are defeated by enemies, so be careful when you're attempting to loot a Lost Sector with high Renown!
Renown increases the level of challenge in gameplay
• Health regeneration is vastly reduced (all stack levels)
• Enemy kills have a chance to drop health orbs (all stack levels)
• Player damage decreased (scales with stack, up to 5)
• Incoming damage increased (scales with stack, up to 5)
While Renown is active on a player, others around them can see which faction the player has pledged to:

Note: Renown displays which Faction a Guardian is pledged to, but only from a third person view. This functionality applies to all players.
Faction Rallies will continue to feature a Winner’s Offering to the faction that earned the most rank packages during a given event. These rewards will then be available in the rank-up reward pool in the following event. During Seasons 1 and 2, New Monarchy dominated the charts. We’re eager to see whether Dead Orbit or Future War Cult can rack up some wins.

Faction Rallies will be available Tuesday, June 5 at 10 a.m. PDT through the following weekly reset. We’ll continue to collect feedback once Faction Rallies is live, and monitor the conversations.
The only thing I dislike is the change to acquiring the armor ornaments. Why the change? Why not sell the armor pieces?
-
4 OdpowiedziDoes anyone know how to acquire the faction specific emotes?
-
I love it. It's the perfect amount of grind, because we have time to complete it, but are also rewarded for doing a lot per week.
-
9 OdpowiedziI think the changes have been great overall. I'd like to see the event extended by another week. Have week one determine the winner, week two would be a "catch up" week. You can still rank up within your faction, get your rewards.
-
12 OdpowiedziRenown sucks. It should do the exact opposite of what it currently does. Bullet sponge enemies and no health regeneration isn't challenging. It's annoying.
-
I'm enjoying the event very much, but requiring a full set on each character to unlock the ornaments while not being able to buy any armor piece is a problem for me. Especially since the previous faction rallies were so boring that I barely played any of them
-
Awesome, not gonna finish season 3 good job bungie. I have grind and infused things in season one and two, oops no more drops for armor hopeful for other charaters
-
As a primarily PVP player who only gets a couple of hours a night to play the token drops for PVP are laughable. If I want the exotic catalyst from my faction this rally I simply cannot play my preferred mode and instead am forced to farm lost sectors and public events for my entire playtime each and every time I sign in. I'm happy to do these activities for a while if they are the most efficient way to obtain tokens, but it would be nice to have a more even reward structure so I could spend time playing crucible (or strikes if I was so inclined) and wouldn't feel like I'm hurting my faction progress by doing so.
-
Outside of the Ornament requirements to earn and spend Renown, I don't feel that the Lost Sectors are more efficient for getting tokens than just hopping from public event to public event, which means that, in the end, we're still doing the same thing we've always done. I believe the Attrition modifier for Renown is overkill. Sure, I just used Crimson to get around it, and there are other ways. But I just felt that it took away the immersion if I had to stop and hang back for an extended period of time to prevent the loss of Renown. The Warlock chest piece for Dead Orbit requires 30 High Value Target chests to be claimed. 30 is a lot. I'll get there, but I play a lot of Destiny. It's a bit much. Wearing one piece of exotic armor should not negate the requirement for a full set of armor. Perhaps, if it is decked out in the correct faction's shader, it could count? Are there faction emotes? I'm at rank 51 this rally, and haven't seen any. Is the drop rate that low? The faction vendors really need to sell the armors at ranks, like they used to. I have all 9 complete sets. My wife, who pledged to New Monarchy, does not have the helmet for her Warlock. So not only can she not complete the ornament requirement for Season 3 on the helmet, but she also cannot complete any ornament requirement that requires a complete set. She is past rank 10, which is where she would have been able to purchase the helmet in the past. Outside of those criticisms, the event has been a decent grind. You have to be dedicated to get all of the ornaments... More so than getting to rank 50, which is good. You can get all of the gear, but in order to show true dedication, you have to work for it some. Also, since there may only be 3 rallies this season, you really have to hit each one hard to get everything done.
-
Gaining increased renown for wearing a full faction armour set is stupid. As are the ornaments that require you to do x while wearing the full armour set. This means you can't wear an exotic piece. The requirements for those things should be wear 4/5 faction armour pieces.
-
I think the factions should be the same as in Destiny. Pledge and accrue rep through the activities you do. Just a week per season isn't enough for those of us on limited time. I. Enjoying playing but don't tjink I'll get 50 ranks done.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika FadedLoneRider: 6/8/2018 2:04:19 AMLoving it so far, but i wish the DO and FWC ornaments got as much love as the NM ones other than that it's fun, adding more features would be nice, like maybe an exotic ghost shell for each faction, maybe requires like rank 100 or something, more reasons for faction pride would be nice.

This Faction Rallies is a great improvement. Similar to Iron Banner. I think most people are pleased with the fact that ornaments are offered rather than new armour pieces. A rank system is also great and with added objectives gives guardians targets to aim for. Renown is also great and gives us a reason to do patrols and lost sectors again. For future changes I think: 1) The dialogue from the faction reps should be updated in line with the current dlc as well as some additional faction information/lore ( speaking to Lakeshmi, she is talking about the Red War rather than Rasputin. 2) Maybe take Renown up a step. Allow players to reach 10 renown but to get say a maximum of 20 tokens a mediation from Ikora needs to be completed without dying. Would give us a reason to go back to her too. 3) Powerful year rewards must be introduced. Not every rank up otherwise we would reach max level too quickly but maybe every 5 level ups? Or completing a strike with a certain level of renown? For a player such as myself who has never attempted trials or even stepped foot in the new raids, faction rallies and iron banner should help as a way for me to level up. 4) Explanation of exactly how the winner is determined. For example most people will I imagine pledge to DO as Graviton Lance is the main weapon atm so seems other factions are already at a disadvantage. Winner shouldn’t just be decided by most tokens achieved but more an average ( which is may be). For example if 10 guardians pledge to NM and earn 10 tokens each then that’s 100. But if 2 pledge to FWC and earn 11 each that’s 22 tokens which is obviously less but more on average

2 OdpowiedziDmg04 - please can you confirm if these season 3 factiom rally exotic catalysts will be available in season 4 of faction rallies or somewhere else in the game? I'm just conscious of those without sufficient time to grind enough tokens in each faction rally this season. It would also impact those players who start D2 with the Forsaken expansion as otherwise they'd never have the opportunity to get these catalysts. Thanks.

I'm having fun... but 50 ranks is way too much. Im barely at 30

My feedback regarding the new system for Faction Rallies. I do consider myself as a Destiny 1 "hobby" player. I since turned into a casual player since Destiny 2, basically because the game pushed me to play that way. I'm starting to crawl back to having Destiny as a hobby, but I'm finding issues with it. I guess that what I am feeling at the moment is that the game is turning into: either you play casually or hardcore, no place for the "hobby" anymore. Case in point the Faction Rallies. In Destiny 1, as a hobby I was able to work towards getting all rewards from all the factions, at my pace. I did get the three exotic class items eventually, which was cool. With the new FR system in Destiny 2, as a hobbiest player there is no way I will be able to get everything from the three factions unless I go hardcore grind the three weeks. Which I simply cannot do, I can put a little time each day but not several hours everyday of the week for three weeks during summer. Do I care about the exotic ornaments for the three factions, or even the ornaments? No. I would like to collect the exotic catalysts for the three weapons though. But I have to assume I won't be able to, because from the looks of it I won't be able to reach rank 50 with FWC on this rally, and I would need to pledge again with them on the next one. This will mean that once I reach rank 50 at some point during the next faction rally, probably early, I will stop caring AT ALL about the rally for the rest of that week and the final rally week. I thought this change was supposed to make us care about the faction rallies, not the other way around. So I do like the grindy changes of it, but I feel like the exotic weapon catalysts should have been available to the three factions.

3 OdpowiedziHi How long do we have go get to level 50? I mean I work so don’t have much time.
-
The one thing I have noticed since you introduced renown is that I seem to be randomly exploding! I'm serious, I will be walking toward a rock and I explode and get told i'm killed by architects. This has happened at least 10 times this week. Frustrating when I am trying to earn tokens and my renown is reduced for something completely random.
-
2 OdpowiedziAt first glance, the reward system is pretty rewarding. Got 20+ tokens with my first lost sector at x5. Plus I use to get 17 tokens at x3. But now, I just did a normal lost sector with x3 and it only gave me 4 COINS!! WTF! This system is much worse than what it use to be. It’s exponential get more difficult. Let me guess, by the weekend a x5 lost sector will be worth 1 coin. It’s extreme, but knowing how Bungie has been stingy about their rewards, I’m not taking it off the table just yet.
-
Too many thing kill you in a cheap way, invisible instakill shotgun dudes for example. Spawning stuff directly behind you. Boss mechanics in public events because your health doesn’t regenerate. With renown system it is just annoying! Healthy regent mechanic is just bad and promotes hiding. I like all of it but you need to tone back parts so it’s less annoying, you don’t ever feel rewarded for the grind, only frustrated with the mechanics. Make the grind shorter or less repetitive and more rewarding. grinding Titan for two nights to get half way isn’t what I was looking forward to. We need more time to complete. If you want to collect every catalyst you will have to commit some serious time on three specific weeks without missing one or you will lose out. This isn’t rewarding the player for choosing a faction it’s stipulating they pledge all three and time gates / locks off the fun grind. Faction rallies will be really good with small tweaks.
-
One piece of feed back I have after spending the last two days to get the DO chest ornament is making the high value target warning appear more boldly. It would also be nice if one that has already spawned in an area your just entering if it gave a notification that one was currently present. That was incredibly tedious to track down 30 of them.
-
Liking the changes to faction rallies keep it up good job 👍

2 OdpowiedziThe renown system is great! Huge step in the right direction! And the rewards as well have me really grinding to support my faction. I would love if there were more risk vs reward tho. Crimson + Wormhusk kinda makes the lost sectors a walk in the park even with 5 renown. I'd love to be able to earn up to 10 renown to the point where the Lost Sectors are crazy hard, but reward me with 3x the amount of tokens or something. I'm pushing myself to earn at least 10 ranks every day so that I get the catalyst on the 5th day. The grind isn't as harsh as people think... Although if anyone is only able to play a couple of times per week then this could be rough. Maybe a mechanic similar to the old Iron Banner where token gains are increased as the week goes on?
-
Hey bungee, is it possible to tie renown to the supply public even rewards? That event is HARD and lacking participation. extra token for each rank maybe? K thx bye
-
While I do enjoy bringing the challenge back to what is usually a yawn fest, I think it could be toned back a tiny bit. Even at 2x stacks it takes MINUTES for your health to start recovering unless you use an ability that starts recovery. Perhaps cut that in half and you'd have a great system.
