15 OdpowiedziRandom rolls atleast made it so when you got your 3rd/4th/5th same gun it was always different, made you actually want to get the loot, fixed rolls means when you have everything why are you still playing?
-
Pretty sure the Mods 2.0 is their answer to random rolls. We just don't have any info on it yet. Such as the perks and what not.
-
55 OdpowiedziI'm with OP on this. RNG is terrible. Do you like duplicate exotics? That's RNG. Do you like random rolls on weapons? News flash: that's also RNG. Random rolls mean 90% of weapons suck, more grinding, and more disparity. Bungie made a lot of mistakes with D2. Fixed rolls was not one of them.

Edytowany przez użytkownika GalaxySpider: 1/16/2018 2:07:18 PMSame here. I don‘t understand what was so exciting about random rolls. Fact is: most powerful and most used weapons were exotics (Last Word, Thorn, Icebreaker, Ballerhorn etc). And, surprise, exotics always had set perks. And Raid guns like Black Hammer and Faithbringer, also had set perks. Weapons like LDR and Palindrome already had good base stats as well and were in general good archetypes. Popular guns weren‘t hyped because of their random rolls. Random rolls are like Riven Mods in Warframe. They don‘t make shitty weapons better, no. That stuff makes already good guns even better so that there is still reason to use a shitty gun over an already superior gun. And if you receive the god roll, what‘s next? Yes, you end up deleting every other roll. The exact same thing you do with duplicates in D2. So instead of chasing it, wasting time, you simply get it from the start in D2. I see no downside to this, especially not when so many people complained about the horrible RNG system D1 always had and still has. What the game needs is to improve on the new(!) features a.k.a. the mod system, not introducing old stuff which doesn‘t improve anything at all.

Edytowany przez użytkownika vitisku1: 1/16/2018 2:02:24 PMI agree. I’d rather them just improve the mod system. Who would want random rolls now anyway with the available perks? They’re all rubbish. For random rolls to be worth bringing back the perks available would have to be reworked as well. But really, at this rate, after the spring update this game will have reverted right back to D1. Don’t get me wrong, I love D1, but I don’t want to have spent 120 dollars on a game I already own with different missions. I want evolution of the franchise, not stagnation.

Random rolls aren’t what made D1 great, true, but it’s part of the equation, a part that gave life to the grinding. Destiny, intentionally or not became all about the sweet loot, Destiny banks a LOT of its replayability to doing the same thing over and over and over again to get that loot you are after, be that one legendary, exotic or some other item. And for this system to work it needs either a lot, and I mean A LOT of items or Random prefixes in the items it has, D2 has neither, the majority of the gear is mediocre at best, once you get one item and you kind of like it but its perks are trash you won’t bother to keep grinding for it because you know it’s always going to be trash no matter what you do. We need random perks back OR a worthwhile mod system that would allow us to turn a trashy item in something worthwhile, but as it is, we don’t have either and I doubt we will ever, for the simple reason that it will keep trashing PvP as long there is no separation from PvP and PvE. But it may be just me....

if you implement random rolls now.... you need to implement better perks after... because the perks atm are not worth it at all

10 OdpowiedziOnce I got a Fatebringer with a roll I liked I never unequipped it. Bring back random rolls.

9 OdpowiedziWhy not just improve on what we have and add to it? If you need "chasing that god roll" as a reason to play, then you aren't having fun to begin with. That's just insanity. Not only were god rolls partly responsible for nerfs to entire weapon classes all throughout D1. They (god rolls) also meant that most guns were pretty much useless because of RNG. So apparently the game play itself isn't fun enough to keep us playing and we want to chase RNG while not having fun AND making the game even more imbalanced (on console) and potentially even more watered down because of nerfs? Yes, having that perfect Eyasluna drop was exciting for me too! Don't even get me started on my Zarinaea-D that I got as a random drop from the gunsmith! But none of it would have mattered if I wasn't having fun anyway. And honestly, I really wouldn't mind either way (random rolls or not) if we could just have the fun and excitement that was left behind in D1. The pace of play. Feeling powerful regardless of weapon of choice. Far from perfect but much better matchmaking. Competing with teammates for power ammo NOT being the main objective in every match. Not getting chased and shot by four people everytime I peek a corner. I know everyone has their own thoughts and that's just a short list of mine. But if you're not having fun to begin with, then what good is your "god roll"?

3 OdpowiedziYou clearly have no Idea what made Destiny great. Random rolls was not the only thing but it was extremely important on replayability of the game. Until you learn more about the game you played i strongly suggest you to shut up...

No random wasnt shit on its own No trading and no crafting was the shit part

Ok you can only bind one exotic per Charakter and you need to dismantle the Bound-Exotic to bind an other exotic. But what is a Bound-Exotic??? Simple. You bind a exotic weapon and start grinding! -25’000 pve kills better stats. -50‘000 pve kills evan better stats. -15‘000 precicion kills (pve+pvp) new perk added. -1550 Pvp kills new perk added Lets start grinding!!!! What about a Bound-Subclass ??? ...Sorry for my bad english...

2 OdpowiedziI think a vaguely comparable mod system would be WF's in the sense of variety, but then comes it's own issues esp with the necessity of certain mods within that game (the base damage, multishot mods always being slapped on). If they pull off the mod system well with a rework (I'd rather them give us unfinished mod 2.0 aka mod 1.5 in february/whenever the TWAB mentioned so that they can get player feedback on initial changes whilst still recognising it's an in-progress change, so we can work together with the devs in giving us the best experience. the worrying thing about random rolls is that even if Bungie reintroduced it, so many people would the take it in their stride to use it as negative criticism as either 'now the Meta is more Meta with roll X+Y' or the staple response of 'typical, bringing back D1 style gameplay'. Like I'd rather see where the mod systems go too tbh than see a return of random rolls. There just need to be more quality/viable perks, because as it goes I enjoy exp. rounds, outlaw, rampage(?) (the kills stack damage x3) and the stability ones, perseverance+tap the trigger. Like just some interesting mods like 'increased damage against X enemy', 'consecutive kills start hp regen' (like 3 kills in pve or s/t don't know how that'd work) or returning perks 'kills with this weapon reduce ability cooldown' again to help with decreased charged rates as masterworks do with supers.
-
Damage model needs a complete re-work. Energy kinetic power needs a rework. Random rolls work as the immediate fix to the issue of duplicate loot, but that doesn't fix the underlying problem of uninspiring loot or frankly non-viable weapons or indeed the fact that the current loadout system from weapons through to sub-class modification lacks any level of engagement or player agency.

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika TeddyBundy: 1/16/2018 8:54:12 AMIt‘s the essence of a lootbased grinder. Just like in Diablo, Borderlands, The Division, etc. Progression through loot is the key element of those games. Destiny 1 IS a lootbased grinder, D2 isn‘t. The rng system of D1 wasn‘t the best for sure, but it‘s MUCH better than static rolls and grinding for cosmetics only. Obviously real D1 fans want D2 to be an IMPROVED version of D2 that expands the lore and give MORE possibilities. What we got was the opposite and that‘s why people are angry. The solution is simple: Random Rolls with the possibility of reforging one perk for grindable resources. Simple.
-
I don’t know how to feel about this. Static perks don’t bother me (boring perks do, though). However, one of my favorite guns in D1 was Parthian Shot, and that is because of its perks. Not a God-roll per se, but there’s virtually no recoil on the gun, making it butter-smooth to fire.
-
I think a deep mod system would be much better than random rolls. Rare, legendary and exotic mods! Maybe a way to forge extra mod slots on gear? Even if mods don’t count in pvp to even it out (I don’t care about crucible personally).
-
No one would have a problem with not having random rolls if there was a huge selection of viable weapons.
-
I can agree with this.
-
1 OdpowiedźCorrect. Better mods but leave base weapons alone. The only reason people want the chase of a "God role" weapon is so they can have an advantage over someone else in PvP purely due to RNG. That's ridiculous. Now the ability to mod your weapon to suit your play style, yeah that makes more sense.
-
Random rolls add variety to each weapon with different perks, the mod system with making weapons masterworks adds little boost to each weapons performance I've used my fair share and comparing them to some of the incredible rolls I've gotten from D1, it just doesn't compete. Pitting them against each other elite rolls from D1 will win pretty much every time. Instead of duplicates I have several of some weapons with their own distinctive roll making each function differently. Masterworks has a fixed variation there is to offer for each type, so, bearing that in mind, I disagree with your opinion, and think I've offered enough evidence to the contrary to prove mods offer a quite limited choice option.
-
we need are just better guns better archetypes and a better mod system.
I agree with this part but getting those specific rolls that you want did help make it somewhat unique.
-
3 OdpowiedziIt gave some of us something to play for. It may not have been a perfect system, but it was something to reward people's farming efforts.
-
Agreed! I think some killer mods would be a much better system and also offer some innovation over something that was ultimately a drag in D1. Remember that thing everyone is whinging the latest TWAB didn't do? I think this is that solve.
-
Getting a god role on your favourite weapon was a good chunk of the game. All we discussed was best role ,where to get it,and when to grind it. And it wasn’t exotic.
