As a developer IRL I think know the serious problem Destiny 2 is facing right now from the dev's end. They threw away so many core features (either due to time constraints or by choice) and took FAR too many risks with overhauling various designs and systems. It ALL backfired and now there's no feasible way to "fix" D2 in a "reasonable player's timeframe". You can't just "patch up" the core issues plaguing D2.
The only REAL "fix" to D2 is a complete OVERHAUL BACK to D1 Y3's design (a core release, not expansion) - and that is going to take a LONG time to code. This is the hard truth that the Bungie devs are quietly panicking over and why they've been so silent with the player base.
How do you tell a player base of millions that you royally -blam!-ed up, the already-coded DLCs are going to be the same hated design, and it's going to take a year or more to code up the game they expected? If you have the answer, I'm sure Deej and Cosmo would love to speak to you right now.
EDIT: For the record, I’m not defending Bungie. My post is to offer an explanation to the situation D2 is in from a developer’s perspective. Luke’s blatant disregard for player interests and Activision’s restrictive contract are not being overlooked by anyone here.

This is exactly what ive been trying to explain to people and all I get is hate and telling me if i dont like it dont play it lol
-
Unfortunately it's D1 vanilla all over again, the game sucked at release and it took about a year to be playable. It took until year two to be good.

They made their bed.

6 OdpowiedziMaybe I'm wrong and just reading someone's lie but I heard destiny 2 has less than 500,000 active players now only what? Two months in? It's very sad.

2 OdpowiedziFirst of all they didn’t have to make D2 or even call it that ..it’s sound so generic ...how about Destiny lost of light or the invasion ...
-
Someone -blam!-ing gets it. D2 is doomed until year 2.

At least you had a reason to play then. Agreed.

I never made it to year 3 destiny but honestly I think d2 isn't as bad as most ppl are making it out to be. Sure the pvp isn't as fun as before but I think the pve shows a lot of improvements, excluding the easy difficulty. There's plenty more to do in the worlds available when compared to d1 You want to talk about a game that's fundamentally broken at the core look back at d1. It had a completely terrible story at launch that not even another 35 dollars of dlc could fix. The pve environments were barebones with absolutely no reason to visit them apart from collecting mats. The entire game was a grindfest where you did the same poorly designed missions over and over again in the hopes for a semi-decent weapon and all interesting lore was located outside of tmr game. Also, Luke Smith has been a jack*** from day 1. Anyone surprised by his behavior needs to pay better attention. I mean, the guy told ppl they should be throwing their money at the screen in early y1 d1. How that guy made it to his current position is beyond me.

It's like the d2 team never even looked over their cube farm to see what the d1 team was doing. They ended up with a pretty good game by the end of d1. and they hit total reset and tossed out most of it. I have no more patience with them, I'm done. no more money from me ever again Bungie Every creative person at Bungie should be required to play Diablo 3, Borderlands 2 and WoW for at least 2 weeks each day at work so they can get a grip on what makes a fun, highly replayable co-op loot driven game, because this game has none of those things going for it

5 Odpowiedzi"How do you tell a player base of millions that you royally -blam!-ed up?" They can do what SquareEnix did with the first iteration of Final Fantasy 14, literally tell the player base that they "royally -blam!-ed up," fire the entire team that developed the game, and rebuild the game from the ground up and turn it into the second most popular mmo on the market(just below world of warcraft and slowly catching up). Say what you want about the people at SquareEnix, at least they had to balls to admit when they messed up and actually put in effort to learn from their mistakes and fix their broken game.

Bump your right ,,like I said they need to put all the stuff that was in D1 into D2 ..to save the franchise ...it clearly shows someone has a ego ..and egos destroys good things all the time

Im glad you know everything about bungie.
#boycottNov7
Thank -blam!- I didn't buy the dlcs, I suspect they'll be trash as well.

Edytowany przez użytkownika HawkSniped631: 10/21/2017 6:02:20 AMI agree completely but to be honest I have to say the way they started making d2 while working on D1 is a stupid idea since a lot of the story makers were clearly working on the taken king and rise of iron dlc. For anyone who doesn’t know they started working on d2 a little after all of the year one dlc was released(you know to working on a sequel takes even harder work and longer time to make) I would’ve prefer they kept on working on destiny 1 and kept on adding content and when they feel satisfied with there product or until activision milked as much money as they can from the D1 fan base, THEN work on a sequel there should be content in D1 to last until the announcement of a sequel. Now this may sound weird but this is MY OPINION so if any of your get “triggered” by MY OPINION I honestly don’t give a -blam!-. Edit: fixed type-o

Makes sense

Good to see some actual structure in this post instead of another this game sucks post with no context as to why just whining BS.

For me the big problem. Is not what is there. But what isnt. It feels like one big dlc without beeing able to acces to d1. It reminds me of the division. Not in gametype but the state it was in. When that released it was in a horrible state. Got worse with some update but from 1.4 and up it got beter and beter. But lost a large amount of player before it realy got going. Im afraid d2 wil go down the same road. I loved d1 played alot. Didnt complain but for al its flaws there where more good things going for it. The world of dw is great. Love the areas. The gun play etc . hell even like the strikes if indont have to play dame one over and over. But it misses what destiny made destiny. Options. I.e without the rng gun rolls everybgun feels the same. Whats the point in getting the 20th uriel... The tokens hugh step back. Etc etc
