So here are my questions:
How/why does a robot version of Calus have the ability to transfer us into a "shadow zone"?
We defeat robot Calus and now what? Do we now own the Leviathan? Is Calus still coming for us or does he want to work with us?
Why didnt the Leviathan just swallow earth up and destroy it?
What happened to the Speaker? Is he alive? Dead? (Off topic, but while we are at it whatever happened to The Queen?)
Will we ever know the answer to these questions? Or will this storyline just be dropped and Destiny 3.

Figured I'd give a shot at answering your questions: 1. I don't know if it's actually the robot Calus doing the transferring; I wouldn't be surprised if it was a group of observing Psions that transfer us in tandem with the robot Calus making motions and things. That, or Calus himself is able to watch a live feed from the robot and he can do it from there. 2. From what I understand, he wants to form an alliance of some kind. With the Leviathan, I'll explain more with the answer to the next question. 3. Basically, Calus uses the Leviathan as a threat to races. He invited us to the Leviathan to go through challenges, the deal being if we win, he won't eat Nessus, but if we lose we become a slave race (kinda like the Psions, though I don't know the full lore there, still reading all of the grimoire cards) 4. The Speaker is straight up dead. There is a scannable item in the Traveler social space that talks about him not being the first Speaker, but also not being the last - why replace him if he was still alive? For the Queen, I think we'll find out eventually, but for right now I'm not sure. I know the prince is on Mars with some Fallen doing some shenanigans, which we may find out about in the 2nd expansion (the Warmind one). 5. Hopefully I helped answering the questions, but I'd like to pose my own. I've seen a lot of people talk about things being pushed to Destiny 3, or waiting for D3 for certain game aspects to be looked into more; is that just speculation that there is going to be a D3, or was it confirmed somewhere Destiny was going to be a trilogy?

Wow, people are really weird with the stuff they make up. Calus was a robot version we fought, when beaten he was programmed to give you a message. The real Calus is most likely in a completely different system. Don't know where people got all this "he transferred his conscious" stuff.

IIII think they're the same but I kind of see your point

We proved ourselves worthy to him and he's giving us his wealth and gear to act as his "shadow" to take back his Empire, and maybe later on, to defeat whatever it was he encountered far out in space. The Leviathan was tasked with consuming Nessus for royal items and possibly as a way to bait us into his Trials. If he swallowrd Earth, he wouldve eliminated a possibility at gaining a "shadow." The Speaker died. He was beaten and starved by Ghaul for weeks.

The shadow zone is ran through the psions. They can do crazy things with their minds. We caught the leviathan at Nessus I think it is, before it could get to earth.

The shadow zone is controlled by the psions

the councilors send out there

Why do they do what they do? Liberals. Cabal finally had enough of their shit.
How/why does a robot version of Calus have the ability to transfer us into a "shadow zone"?
Raid mechanics, duh (no clue)
We defeat robot Calus and now what? Do we now own the Leviathan? Is Calus still coming for us or does he want to work with us?
He formally invited us to his ship, we don't own the leviathan, calus is still onboard, he's either somewhere that we cant reach, or he's somehow transferred his consciousness to a computer that switches between controlling different robots
Why didnt the Leviathan just swallow earth up and destroy it?
Because the leviathan isn't here to destroy us, we killed ghaul, calus saw potential in us and wants to recruit us.
What happened to the Speaker? Is he alive? Dead? (Off topic, but while we are at it whatever happened to The Queen?)
Dead, ghost scan in tower confirms it. Hope this helps

Im more interested in how an elite force of planet eaters and star destroyers can get defeated by a guardian and a handful of friends.

The way I understood it was the entire raid was a test. That this is what Calus does with his free time. He travels to civilizations inviting the strongest of that civilization to the Leviathan and tests their strength and competence. The test is obviously to the death but for more than just those on the ship. If the ones being tested fail the civilization is deemed weak and then destroyed by the Leviathan. If they succeed they are offered a place in Calus's empire and their civilization is spared. So if our Guardians failed in the raid Earth would've been devoured.

This is exactly right. Not sure where others are getting these random theories. This seemed pretty cut and dry to me. 13 year olds will be 13 year olds I guess.

Yeah this is kind of what I was thinking!

calus doesn't want to kill us, he wants to recruit us. and I wouldn't be surprised if he was just somewhere else in the ship. as for the teleport bs, I have 4 theories: 1) he has that power from communing with some entity, such as the ahamkara or even the darkness and was just doing it from somewhere else on the ship 2) there are psions somewhere else on the ship doing that 3) the robot is advanced enough to do stuff like that 4) -blam!- you we don't need logic, the whole premise of this story is that we massacre trillions and will potentially commit mass genocide with ballistic weapons and space magic because the future head of the kkk told us a giant floating ping pong ball told us to
-
...you mean like the psions that appear right in front of you in the throne room? Lol, the shadow realm thing doesn't need theories.
