I played a D1 mission. Big deal right?
Let me tell you how it went down.
I opened D1. The menu music gave me chills once again. I remembered the first time I heard it, D1 beta. I still can't get over that music. Logging into the character selection, I once again go with my tried and true Warlock, decked out in regal gear that I stole from a hive god! Those were the good old days.
Coming into orbit, I wonder what activity I should select. Ah! Heroic story missions! It's got void burn, and it will give me a treasure of ages! I launch the activity, and go to my menu to rectify my loadout. Palindrome, good solid primary. Praedyths Revenge, the best sniper ever (fight me)! And, DARK DRINKER!!! Everyone loves an exotic sword!
The mission starts, I notice subtle differences in the hud compared to D2. Not anything huge. But then I throw my axion bolt at some enemies, they're dead. But what's this? My grenade is charged again! A low ripple of laughter leaves my lips as I suddenly remember why everyone TRULY loves destiny. Not the grind, nor the raids, nor the god rolls, not even trials. But the pure and unbridled power of the SPACE MAGIC!!
I become the fearsome space vampire once again. I toss my grenade, I blink, melee. Group of enemies, Nova bomb, Obsidian Mind. My super is already halfway charged again. I weave through the battleground, a master of lethal movement.
When I'm finished with the mission, I decide to open my treasure of ages. What do I get? The robes of triumph!! Something I still hadn't managed to acquire. I throw it on, along with the boots and helmet, the only other pieces I have. Dang! I think to myself, this armor looks 5x better than D2! I suddenly feel the call of other D1 activities. "But I play D2 now!" I think, but I'm sad, cause I miss all the D1 activities already.
And D2... D2 is slowing down. Three weeks in, and I don't have anything left to do. And I didn't even "grind like crazy!" The hype train hit a brick wall. I don't want this game to fail, I want it to far surpass D1! But we need to face it, if Bungie doesn't do something soon, there's going to be a massive falling away.
Bungie, I want the game you promised four years ago. I'm still waiting.

How wrong it all has gone....

I don't understand..? Remember back in pre alpha, beta and when D1 was first release? * Become your own legend * was the marketing strategy that Activision and their puppet Bungie were both pushing out to us gamers to buy this game.? Yes, D1 had a rough start with story lacking but man, the FPS mechanics were spot on and armour perks, weapons perks were plenty abound to suit every players build, play style which was the promise they marketed for D1. I played D1 for almost three years straight because of how the game played and to build my own Guardian in how I want it.. How can Bungie get it so wrong.? D2 will not last as long as D1. D2 just feels like a huge dlc and not a continuation of D1. Bungie = IN GREED WE TRUST!

6 OdpowiedziHoly cow did it take you forever. I waited about 8 mins, while switching laundry and it was done. Guess time to upgrade that internet huh bud?
-
2 OdpowiedziThen keep playing D1? Wtf, such a simple solution.
-
Group of enemies, Nova bomb
Sure.
-
Same as you apart from I went into D1 crucible with a friend. Both of us had fun a didn't really want to leave.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Monkeymedina: 9/26/2017 9:06:13 PMIn D1 it took me to finished the campaign in like 4 days and D2 a day how is that possible?
-
It was the same way #forever 29 in the first few weeks of d1. We have a lot to look forward to
-
2 OdpowiedziYou misspelled Dank Drinker.

4 OdpowiedziD2 is slowing blown but you love playing D1 story missions for 500th time? You have done everything in that game over and over but you have exhausted a new game in 3 weeks?

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Drive By Baggins: 9/26/2017 7:05:43 PM**Helpful Tip, but just the tip** Really wanna blow your mind? Bust out your old PS3 and Fire up Destiny. I'm pretty sure the future is actually behind us with Destiny. ;)

6 OdpowiedziDestiny 2, for me, is way better than D1. I loved D1, but things like patrol and public events were a little boring. Now it's actually fun to do heroic public events, explore in patrol and find lost sectors and shit, etc.
-
I would say be patient. Your statements are valid. Im a d1 day 1 player, and i remember the complete overhaul they did to the leveling system. I think the same will happen
-
3 Odpowiedzi...wait you still have D1 installed??...i said good bye to D1 on the Tuesday after all my NF's were completed..i would feel weird goin back to it...
-
If they rolled back all nerfs and restored special ammo in pvp, kicked up the TTK a tad, with the age of triumph update Destiny 1 would be amazing.
-
Bud you went into a game that has 3 years worth of content and updates... D2 should have move launch features but to hold it up against D1 in terms of loadouts and available armour you're just not making a great argument.
-
Honestly I'll give the game some time to re imagine some of the content for the next patches but I agree that witcher and overwatch devs care more for their consumers than by bungie
-
RIP infinite grenade voidlock

3 OdpowiedziYou don't have any characters at 300 so you have plenty left to do -_-
-
The way things are going you will probably be waiting till h**l freezes over.

13 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Savage: 9/26/2017 2:15:36 AMD2 is missing three things from D1 (which remember it took three years for them to finally do) that would, for the most part, change the current perspective of most people. 1.) Specific loot from strikes/lost sectors/etc 2.) random rolls 3.) every activity being relevant. Beyond milestones, the only thing in D2 that is really relevant after 265 is public events because you can get exotics somewhat decently out of it and why you'll often still find people grinding them. Meditations (which should be daily imo), adventures, farming tokens, lost sectors, strikes, etc..don't make a difference and so those who don't want to do something if it doesn't help them make progress won't do any of it and won't believe D2 has content. I do all of these things, despite being 302-304 on all 3 characters, because I enjoy doing them, especially with friends, and can literally spend all day doing them. The content is there, but it's just not relevant. In age of triumphs, everything got you more powerful and legendaries dropped at relevant power. This is D2s biggest flaw right now.
-
The patch took me all of 30 seconds to install... but I guess that's not the point here lol.
-
4 OdpowiedziPlayed crucible on D1 during downtime.....loved it. Only ever play crucible in D2 for the engram....never ever go in for fun. If I was alone in saying this then it could be argued that the problem is me.....when many others are saying it, then the problem is something else!

Destiny 1 was a 6/10 game. Destiny 2? I haven't played it. From what I have seen of it it looks like another 6/10.
-
Part of me wants to reinstall d1,. The other part of me knows the first dlc for D2 will drop before I download all the dlc and patches again 😂 Sadly I uninstalled it all right before downloading D2
-
I wonder if you'd be saying that same thing if it were Destiny 1 without any DLC because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be.
