I played a D1 mission. Big deal right?
Let me tell you how it went down.
I opened D1. The menu music gave me chills once again. I remembered the first time I heard it, D1 beta. I still can't get over that music. Logging into the character selection, I once again go with my tried and true Warlock, decked out in regal gear that I stole from a hive god! Those were the good old days.
Coming into orbit, I wonder what activity I should select. Ah! Heroic story missions! It's got void burn, and it will give me a treasure of ages! I launch the activity, and go to my menu to rectify my loadout. Palindrome, good solid primary. Praedyths Revenge, the best sniper ever (fight me)! And, DARK DRINKER!!! Everyone loves an exotic sword!
The mission starts, I notice subtle differences in the hud compared to D2. Not anything huge. But then I throw my axion bolt at some enemies, they're dead. But what's this? My grenade is charged again! A low ripple of laughter leaves my lips as I suddenly remember why everyone TRULY loves destiny. Not the grind, nor the raids, nor the god rolls, not even trials. But the pure and unbridled power of the SPACE MAGIC!!
I become the fearsome space vampire once again. I toss my grenade, I blink, melee. Group of enemies, Nova bomb, Obsidian Mind. My super is already halfway charged again. I weave through the battleground, a master of lethal movement.
When I'm finished with the mission, I decide to open my treasure of ages. What do I get? The robes of triumph!! Something I still hadn't managed to acquire. I throw it on, along with the boots and helmet, the only other pieces I have. Dang! I think to myself, this armor looks 5x better than D2! I suddenly feel the call of other D1 activities. "But I play D2 now!" I think, but I'm sad, cause I miss all the D1 activities already.
And D2... D2 is slowing down. Three weeks in, and I don't have anything left to do. And I didn't even "grind like crazy!" The hype train hit a brick wall. I don't want this game to fail, I want it to far surpass D1! But we need to face it, if Bungie doesn't do something soon, there's going to be a massive falling away.
Bungie, I want the game you promised four years ago. I'm still waiting.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Talk2MeToner: 9/27/2017 4:31:28 AMYeah but like two months ago your plebeian ass was complaining you had opened like 100 of those treasures with no robes of triumph. Don't lie to the emperor. Plus I'm not in that game so -blam!- Destiny 1! ~ Emperor Hedonism Bot has spoken!

D2 hasnt built on from D1 its gone backward in my opinion. Its diet version of destiny 1. Shame guess we will have to wait another 2 years before everything gets re added in again

5 OdpowiedziSorry, but any true Voidwalker would have been using Bad JuJu.

1 OdpowiedźThe only thing I miss from D1 is the strange coins it would sometimes piss me off when I got one but then when xur was around I was obviously glad to have enough to buy weapons or armor BUT I couldn't afford everything. In a weird way I miss the difficult choice of what to buy the the little coins I had. Of course sometimes it was easy if he had wears I already owned but sometimes I took all weekend desperately seeking out those damned wonderful coins to buy so I could buy both skull fort and sound advice (or good advice I can't remember) because I couldn't decide. Legendary shards are great in all but for xur I want a rare form of currency. There is so decision because I can easily afford it all.

5 Odpowiedziit doesn't even play that music now.

9 OdpowiedziI like the idea, but you went from space magic to the slow down of content. If you're playing a warlock at this time... Nezerac's Sin + Void weapons + Either perk path = A nonstop train of destruction, regeneration, and death. I was addicted to Hunters for 3 years, now I find it hard to play it, it's still fun, but my Voidlock is extremely addictive.

1 OdpowiedźThe original out of the box D1 didn't get interesting until Taken King which was the 3rd car in the expansion train. It gave us new subclasses, the new content was fantastic, new patrols and hell, even a new patrol map. For me as far as plot it was the best hands down the best, even better than D2. Corta's Revenge set em up and Taken King knocked em down. The Destiny franchise is special because it's constantly growing, it's lore expanding. It gets dlc like any other game but it doesn't feel like dlc. It feels like the continuation of the history of Destiny. So be patient, time marches on and before you know it the armies of darkness will show up and we can all have a blast kicking it's ass.

2 OdpowiedziI'm glad the ability spam's gone. Totally ruined PvP. D1 had so much grenade spam it'd make BF4 jealous.

2 OdpowiedziAnd then you remember you're comparing a game that's been out for 3 years with countless updates to a game that's been out 3 weeks...
-
2 OdpowiedziI've seen a ton of people saying you can't compare D1 with all its updates to d2. That your argument is invalid. But that's the very argument that means nothing. A sequel is supposed to jump off the original and expand on everything the original did right. And this did not. Yes it has more stuff to do with the planets being littered with little side missions and places to explore. But what do they do for you? The little mechanics are great and mini stories are awesome. And in this aspect d2 has way more content than D1 on launch. But it all goes awry when you hit that soft cap. Because even though the game is a blast nothing is rewarding. You've got time locked powerful engrams and the hope RNG blesses you with an exotic engram. But there were many modes of play that gave you actual progress in d1. And yes I mean in year 3 because that is the mirror we should be forcing d2 to look into. Little disclaimer here towards the end. I've got one character up to 290 (293 with my most powerful gear but, I refuse to be shackled to a gun i don't like using because of an obviously intentional limitation set by the horrible infusing system) and I've got a ways to go. I'm still playing everyday cause it's not like the game isn't fun, it's just not rewarding like d1 was. I've got the better devils hand cannon. Which I really enjoying using but, I've gotten 4 more since I got this one. And it's a little disappointing that I knee from the time it popped up that it was exactly the same. That is one system I sorely miss. Perk rolls. Just added another layer of character customization so you could find your perfect play style. But I digress. You shouldn't compare a sequel to its predecessors based on the time it's been out. You should be comparing finished product to new product. Because I don't care how many times you make a chair. Once you start making the chairs perfectly, move on to making slightly different chairs, and make the same mistakes you did when you first started making chairs I will hold you to the chairs you made perfectly. Thats how any type of product should be judged.

12 OdpowiedziOh u mean the old destiny that required no skill to play because all everyone ever did was spam there abilities and supers, yeah the good old days how I dont miss them
-
8 OdpowiedziThat was very cringeworthy. D1 is irrelevant now and nobody cares.

2 OdpowiedziWhen you open d1 you get the rise of iron music, not the original music

11 OdpowiedziExactly. This is a game about resurrected warriors who use reality bending magical powers. We are demigods, not high tech soldiers. Now it's like been downgraded to promote more gunplay. Our space magic now looks an awful lot like fancy gizmos in other games. I can play a dozen shooters that look as good, play well and actually have a cohesive story and "balanced" pvp. The one thing that set Destiny apart was the space magic and the sense action that resulted when those demigods clashed. Why people thought it'd be balanced and "fair" are coddled by standard shooters. OP guns were countered with powerful abilities. Abilities that are the central pillar of the game. Anyone notice at the end of a mission when the scorecard comes up how few people bother using heavy weapons? Something I've been noticing. In D1, I made it a point to use my Young Wolfs Howl often. One for effectiveness and to challenge myself and show off (I'll admit it, I liked getting as many kills in a strike as the other two combined) Now it's just a primary bulletfest. Intense but definitely a different and more mundane flavor.

3 OdpowiedziMy girlfriend loaded up Destiny as Destiny 2 servers were down. She said she went into a crucible match with a couple of friends.. lol, let's just say, she got destroyed. (And she was pretty damn good at Destiny crucible) After a match or two, she cut it off. The End.
No point in this response, just thought it was story time.
I was reading a light novel from my favorite anime series. It’s interesting to read about the canon outside of the show (Especially to see which girl in the harem takes the V card first) *lenny face*
