Anyways I just was thinking about the current state of affairs in crucible in regards to balance, and came up with an idea for balance in Destiny. Change One, all specials now spawn with one magazine of ammo, like sidearms. Sidearms are powerful right now, but if shotguns and fusions were more available, then these might fit in better, as an option, just like all weapons should be. Change Two, primaries get some slight buffs to range and probably somewhat better damage to better fit into this more special prone environment. These are just some basic ideas that I've had, and I would love to see everybody's thoughts, ideas, and discussion. Bump if you agree!

4 OdpowiedziPlayers desperately seeking to primary their secondary.... 60 seconds is quick enough ammo spawns to run whatever you like....

What if your special weapon is locked or can't be used until you reach a certain amount of kills, Maybe like 7 or 10 kills so it's not too much? Maybe just starting everyone off with limited special ammo so people would think to use it wisely? I think one thing that makes higher impact scouts, higher impact pulse rifles, and higher impact auto rifles almost useless is map size. Why isn't Combined Arms as popular as other game types? Maybe people would use different scopes as well considering the map is larger. How frequently do you get rushed with side arms or shotguns or rushed in general in combined arms?

15 Odpowiedzi"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." -----Albert Einstein. THE CRUCIBLE DOESN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SPECIAL WEAPONS BEING OVERPOWERED OR HAVING TOO MUCH AMMO. Which is why three years of nerfs and trying to limit their ammo has NOT produced a balanced game. The problem is THE GAME'S PRIMARY WEAPONS ARE WOEFULLY UNDERPOWERED AND CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THE DEMANDS OF THE GAME BUNGIE DESIGNED. Games where you allow players to choose their weapon means that they will always choose the most EFFICIENT (fastest killing) weapon at their disposal. Games where players move fast and unpredictably require a quick TTK if you are going to balance them properly. Bungie is FAILING at managing the Crucible because they are trying to force a game with weapon choice, fast moving players and requires balancing.....to play like a game that had NO weapon choice, slow predictably moving players, and a gear system that didn't require any sort of balancing. IOW, the only way to FIX the problem is to stop -blam!-ING around with the game's special weapons....and BUFF the game's primary weapons back to a power level that in balance with the speed of play, and the power of the game's OHK weapons. Otherwise, you'll just keep trying to pound a square peg into a round hole....and running afoul of Einstein's definition of mental illness.

2 Odpowiedziall special weapons should spawn with 1 shot in the magazine after respawn, except side arms which are fine, this would allow for one kill per respawn at the very least (like sidearms)
-
4 OdpowiedziI kind of like it how it is now, especially with ice breaker back and palindrome. I usually go either universal remote sidearm (disclaimer: I suck with sidearms somehow, can't land half my shots for whatever reason) or pali ice breaker. I'm content enough...though I must admit I do get pretty salty at sidearms (if you watch me while I stream pvp these days you'll see that haha)

11 OdpowiedziAll this does is take us back to before the special nerf...
-
People who think Sidearms are overpowered probably failed special ed. classes. PvPers will cry about anything I suppose, it's honestly pathetic at this point.

2 OdpowiedziSpecial weapons work now the way they should have from the start. Snipers and shotguns are power weapons and should be treated as such, everyone was using them like they were primaries and only used their primaries when they ran out of special ammo. It was a horrible set up. What we have now is almost perfect. Sticky grenades are the only thing that need changed right now, they are to easy to use and shouldn't be as magnetic as they are. If they worked like they did in halo where you actually had to hit them to stick them then they would be perfect, in destiny you just have to throw it in their general direction and they seem to latch on almost every time. Shouldn't be that easy. And I can't believe people are complaining about supers and how they are to hard to kill without special ammo. They are supers and should be op. That's the point you should feel powerful. I'm tired of people complaining about the current special economy. Just come out and say it, "there's a skill gap now and I'm not getting the cheap easy kills I'm used to bungie please give me a crutch" that's all I hear anyone say when I see complaints about the new meta

1 OdpowiedźIf they aren't going to fix special, they should at least make primaries more versatile.
-
5 OdpowiedziHell no! Are you aware that Sideaems are the only weapon that have not been touched by a damage nerf/rework. Sidearms aren't powerful they're useful and effective. Shotguns and Fusion Rifles are still good. You just gotta learn to use your primary. See the problem here has always been that people think in terms of what's "powerful".

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Zeacia: 4/25/2017 5:11:34 PMFor primaries I wish that auto-rifles could be a reliable source for getting kills. On the subject of special ammo I think the only way to get special should be from primary kills - 1 kill= 1mag-, and have fewer spawns for special ammo crates.
-
6 OdpowiedziHow about stop thinking and just leave things alone. The "thinking" for PvP is why this game is messed up.
-
Special ammo crates don't necessarily give you a full magazine either. I've had 6 round snipers only get 3 rounds. I have 2 jabberhakke with 18 rounds. I won't be getting bent over by ammo. It is what it is.

4 OdpowiedziExotics need buffs all around and so do primaries in general. All exotic primaries should have burns (only affects pve.) every special weapon spawns with a certain amount of ammo and after you run out of ammo thats it. No more special for you. Lets say shotguns get X amount of bullets, snipers and fusion also have their own amount of bullets and none are affected by armor perks for more ammo.
-
1 OdpowiedźEven, say, three rounds max on respawn would do. Enough for our special to be able to serve its function of supplementing our primary, while making rampages a little more problematic. Experimenting with Trespasser, I was only able to reliably kill one enemy with its 6-burst allotment (I suck with sidearms). But even that small boost was a major game-changer: suddenly, I had two reliable weapons instead of one. I'd like to be able to do that with a gun I like.
-
4 OdpowiedziThe special ammo change is nearly perfect and it is the only thing they've gotten almost right in 3 years. It should've been put in place 2 years ago. Special ammo is still readily available, everywhere. The only change that could be done is to bring sidearms under the special weapon umbrella with the rest of the weapons. Likewise, ammo regen perks should be disabled in PvP. That's all that needs to be done with special ammo. Hopefully the special amp change is the ONLY thing from PvP that varies over to Destiny 2.

1 OdpowiedźThe problem with ammo changes is that high impact is always better off. Why does a low impact shotgun get the same ammo amount as a matador
-
4 OdpowiedziIf you do that you'd need to revert sidearms back to a two mag spawn and keep ammo on death. Otherwise sidearms become unviable.
-
2 OdpowiedziJust no. When you spawn with special, too many people immediately run to their favourite sniper spot and wait there. That meta was hideous and should never return. Right now we actually have fun fights and people traversing the map.

5 OdpowiedziHave you seen autorifles

1 OdpowiedźLet us pray that Bungie has a new take on balance for D2, the special change was a lazy one at best. Here is hoping the current meta doesn't carry over also.

1 OdpowiedźI read this in Nacho Libre's voice because you started the sentence with "Anyways".

2 OdpowiedziSidearms are only advantageous because you keep some ammo every time. They will not one shot like other special weapons. Also, they are advantageous because other people don't know how to pick up a crate.
-
20 OdpowiedziThey should remove special boxes from trials and give you a set amount of ammo. 8 shotgun bullets, 10 sniper, 60 sidearm and 8 fusion. If you used your special ammo then you're done. Also changing the weapon removes ammo. Icebreaker and invective perks are deactivated.
