tired of saying it to the whiners who come to the forum every tuesday with the normal "failed to flawless yet again this weekend because my team faced SUPER SWEATY TRYHARDS who want nothing but to WIN. i sure wish bungie would give average players a chance in trials instead of matching us with ULTRA SWEATS every single game!!!!!!"
news flash! trials is meant to be a place where rather good players compete against eachother, and the lighthouse is supposed to be for the elite. unfortunately things like paid carries exist and thousands of average players see the lighthouse every weekend. but the average players who play the game for fun with friends should no be upset when they lose in trials. it is clear that it is intended to be the "competitive" game mode, so don't go in expecting to do well unless you have a solid team.
but i payed for the game! i should have access to everything on disc because i payed for it!
did everyone who bought halo 3 get the recon armor? no. is everyone who bought the division entitled to every single high end weapon in the game? no. is every single $2 age of triumph treasure box guaranteed to have $2 worth of loot in it? of course not. so this logic is flawed.
trials isn't meant for everyone, and if it isn't for you then you dont have to play. there are many other ways to reach 400 light and you don't even have to win anything to get the trials emblem in the record book. so please stop complaining about losing solely because you aren't good enough or keep facing "sweaties" or "tryhards" (also known as "players who are genuinely better than you at the game")
edit: okay so i've gotten lots of shit which is fine. we're all here to have conversations.
1. never once in this post did i call myself a good or above average player who earned their lighthouse runs. i have 20+ flawlesses as an average player which should not be possible but it is because of how broken the trials system is, but that is a topic for another day.
2. I DO NOT LIKE TRIALS. I DO NOT PLAY TRIALS ANYMORE. i stopped playing several months ago because i hate how slow paced and boring it is. so don't call me a trials elitist ELO god because i couldn't give less of a shit about stats or playing trials for myself.
i am just annoyed with people complaining about losing to people who are better than them.

You do realize trials is filled with streamer carries and paid light houses. There is a huge disadvantage especially now when the player pool has decreased.
-
1 OdpowiedźI am average at PvP and went flawless without carry. I must be elite too. Just because i equiped the most tryhard weapons you can find.

It wasn't bad in year 1 at least, it just got worse
-
5 OdpowiedziI'm gonna mg to have to disagree because people do carries or run cards all weekend. It ruins it for many above average players. The lighthouse should have been a once and done per character per week trip. Once you've completed, you're done.

I'm truly trying to get better using crutches. Maybe I'll be so good one day Why tf is Icebreaker the only usable sniper in trials wtf come on make 1000 yard stare great again

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika SilentFight2411: 4/22/2017 3:35:24 PMAs a below average player what I'm tired is seeing the whiners on here every weekend, whether it be Friday - Monday and into Tuesday on here crying about how they we're "DDOSed", came up against the team where someone used a "lag switch" or they faced a team of players that were red bars from some smaller country that is on the other side of the world from them. The biggest thing I think A LOT of us average to below average players (let me remind you there are more of us than there are you) are tired of are you ELITIST DOUCHEBAGS that are on here every Friday - Tuesday morning on here making posts or leaving comments in other posts of how tired they are of paid carries, free carries or what ever else takes away from your 7777th trip to the stupid lighthouse. Yes, you're better than we are at the game mode, WE GET IT, we'll never beat you, we wont make it there, being reminded of it every weekend is probably a small part of what contributes to those players that complain about not making it. I just hope you hardcore PvP elitists, especially the younger ones, realize that almost no one in the real world will give a wet or dry sh*t about how good of a PvP player you are when you're out interviewing for a job. Go ahead put that you have a 2.5+ overall k/d in Destiny PvP on that resume for a job ad you found (which is for a job having nothing to do with the video game industry) guaranteed that 10 out of 10 HR Department employees will see it then put it into their shredder or paper recycling bin.

I still want to go flawless before D2 releases, but my attention is pulled in so many different directions even having a team who could meet up at least for a few hours to just GET USED TO EACHOTHER seems impossible now. Maybe someday.
-
As someone who has yet to go Flawless, I agree, a trip to the Lighthouse should not be a cakewalk. I've been 8-0 numerous times, but always seem to get destroyed on that last match 😐. I just wish I had a team that was willing to play together on a consistent basis. My main problem right now is just finding a decent team to even attempt a trip to the Lighthouse. Obviously I've gotten lucky, but it would be nice to have a team I could roll with every time the Trials of Osiris is available.
-
What's interesting is when I played with clan mates we did better against the better players or enjoyed it more. We've beat good teams for flawless and also lost in some epic ways. I hold my own in Trials and communicate as much as possible. I do okay in PvP and only went flawless a hand full of times. I primarily did trials bounties for the longest time for the loot but the was armor was always ugly AF (some Mummies Alive cartoon designs) and the weapons didn't feel end game worthy. The thing that killed trials for me in y3 is how the meta is for 3v3s. Its not fun. It feels like since skorri was nerfed people hide or camp even more and use supers with the shortest cool downs.
-
Average players MUST have LUCK, that they don't get laggers against them. Or a team (mostly high k/d's), which you see much too late appear on your screen. You don't stand a chance against such players. Their bullets seem to do much more damage and they seem to have a better armor.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Reclaimer: 4/22/2017 1:29:05 PMI'm honestly surprised to see people en masse who haven't been there. What with carries, and all. Not to mention I see people showing off the gear and emblems all the time, to the point of where I hardly consider any of it all that iconic. That said, op has a point, even if stated stupidly, obnoxiously, and poorly, it's a valid one. He's still an idiot, though.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Skyrender6: 4/22/2017 3:38:13 PMMy major problem when it comes to this subject is that Destiny's PvP and PvE endgames are not equal in terms of difficulty and access. If it's meant to be a PvP version of Destiny's endgame, then Trials shouldn't be as prohibitive as it is because there are many more successful raiders than there are successful lighthouse visitors. That's not to say that the number isn't already small to begin with. I know that a very small percentage of the Destiny community is actually accomplished in raiding, but raiding is still possible because it's predictable. I mean think about it--why are people making a profit out of carrying people through Trials and not through raids? You don't go to the recruitment page and see a bunch of stupid advertisements to follow streamers or to pay for carries when joining a raid team... That's more telling of the bigger issue here. Whether Trials is meant for elite players or not, it is an aspect of the game that many players feel is impossible to gain, and no game should make any player feel that way.

1 OdpowiedźAgree that trials is for the better players to succeed in. Agree that the lighthouse isn't for everyone. Also believe that paid carries absolutely blow. The reason the super sweaty players hit trials so such is they are being paid to do it. I don't believe they would all play a ton of times per weekend if there weren't people paying them to play. I had a chance to play with a couple of really good players. No fees no subscriptions no bull. We played, lost after 5 i think. Thought about coming back, I think we played a few more, but we all decided against going all the way again and just played regular crucible. These guys go flawless often but they aren't running it a ton of times because there was no financial incentive. More regular players would get in if paid carries didn't happen because the top tier players wouldn't play as much.
-
Average players can succeed, they just need to practice with a regular team so their teamwork compensates for any crucible gods on the other side. Been working on raising my elo and kd, and it's working. Regularly get to 8 and 0 now with a team whose highest elo is like 1340. No flawless this season so far, but it'll come. I've seen plenty of average players stomp top tier ones cos they stuck to the basics and let the other teams arrogance work in their favour.
-
2 OdpowiedziI pretty much agree with all that you said. I've been to the lighthouse plenty of times, but I've only recently started to play as much as I did in Year 1 and Year 2. Back then, I played for the challenge. Now I play for fun. To each their own, but yeah. The Lighthouse should not be for people who can't get there themselves. It's like climbing a mountain. If you can't get there by yourself, you can hire a Sherpa of some sort. Getting carried takes the fun and status out of it.
-
6 OdpowiedziI agree and disagree. I agree some may not be suited, including myself, for trials. Although. I'm gonna finish that -blaming-book! I really want that t-shirt. I also think you put together a good, well thought out post, and you are getting a lot of crap from unskilled players such as myself. That is not acceptable and they do not represent all unskilled players. Most just admit that they are bad. Although, I also think that the so called "guarding of the lighthouse" is a wretched thing to do. Here these people are, stopping people who just want some loot, most even just to 5 or 7 wins. Then these complete jerks come in and decide these people don't deserve to go to the lighthouse. They come in, with the worst attitude, t-bagging, and hate messaging. This is why people despise trials. Because for many, it ruined the game, and it made a lot of people quit. I would say just don't do it, but that's not all that possible for people. You see we players who have a negative KD, we may be bad, but oh boy we are determined. We are gonna keep trying for that armor, and probably won't stop until our thumbs bleed. That's just the way we are. It's why we are pretty decent at raids. So if you stuck around this long to listen to this post, great. Cool. Congratulations. Thanks.

1 OdpowiedźDespite all the flack it gets I think Trials is a great idea! It just need better implementation...it would be nice if there were different divisions for trials (iron, bronze, silver etc) and you only played people in those divisions. Have a combat record in game that shows their division and how many times they've gone flawless. An idea I really hope gets put in D2 is Arena (like Halo: Reach). Having a competitive mode all the time that everyone can get into, and get into more closely balanced matches would be perfect.
