tired of saying it to the whiners who come to the forum every tuesday with the normal "failed to flawless yet again this weekend because my team faced SUPER SWEATY TRYHARDS who want nothing but to WIN. i sure wish bungie would give average players a chance in trials instead of matching us with ULTRA SWEATS every single game!!!!!!"
news flash! trials is meant to be a place where rather good players compete against eachother, and the lighthouse is supposed to be for the elite. unfortunately things like paid carries exist and thousands of average players see the lighthouse every weekend. but the average players who play the game for fun with friends should no be upset when they lose in trials. it is clear that it is intended to be the "competitive" game mode, so don't go in expecting to do well unless you have a solid team.
but i payed for the game! i should have access to everything on disc because i payed for it!
did everyone who bought halo 3 get the recon armor? no. is everyone who bought the division entitled to every single high end weapon in the game? no. is every single $2 age of triumph treasure box guaranteed to have $2 worth of loot in it? of course not. so this logic is flawed.
trials isn't meant for everyone, and if it isn't for you then you dont have to play. there are many other ways to reach 400 light and you don't even have to win anything to get the trials emblem in the record book. so please stop complaining about losing solely because you aren't good enough or keep facing "sweaties" or "tryhards" (also known as "players who are genuinely better than you at the game")
edit: okay so i've gotten lots of shit which is fine. we're all here to have conversations.
1. never once in this post did i call myself a good or above average player who earned their lighthouse runs. i have 20+ flawlesses as an average player which should not be possible but it is because of how broken the trials system is, but that is a topic for another day.
2. I DO NOT LIKE TRIALS. I DO NOT PLAY TRIALS ANYMORE. i stopped playing several months ago because i hate how slow paced and boring it is. so don't call me a trials elitist ELO god because i couldn't give less of a shit about stats or playing trials for myself.
i am just annoyed with people complaining about losing to people who are better than them.

14 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika DrPhilaBole: 4/22/2017 10:57:15 PMwhy is it allowed for them to buy a flawless run then ? untill bungie actually does something about paid carries, account recoveries DdoS attacks, any mention of "competitive gaming" in conjunction with ToO is a -blam!-ing joke. EDIT: and if you trials guy really were so -blam!-ing elite , why do you always lead the nerf charge?

Everyone like 'trials is terrible because you can pay people for flawless and this is bungie's fault' what? Any game, any competitive mode that has the possibility to do this, will. The only reason Overwatch doesn't do it is it's too much work to set up 5 carriers and smurf accs. If it was any easier, surprise surprise Overwatch would go the same way in the span of maybe 2 weeks and we'd be looking at the same situation.

Didn't read, due to un-flawless grammar.

I got Recon Armor, but I've been flawless too. But I totally agree with this guy. Don't go into Trials thinking you are going to go flawless and not go against Tryhards. That's what Trials is for.
-
I've played a whopping 2 trials matches my entire Destiny career and lost them both. I can get flawless tomorrow in a matter of hours by dropping some cash. How is your argument valid again?
-
6 OdpowiedziWhy not. Just because we do not invest in lag switches or molded controllers does not mean we should not get a fair fight.

3 OdpowiedziTrials isn't about skill, it's luck over who gets host.

The thing that bothers me the most about trials is that it is not a competitive game mode at all. It's mostly luck based, to the point where I only play it to screw around now a days. Any real ranking system's goal is to get players to a place where their win/loss rate is 50/50. Only when that's achieved is a game mode balanced. Having to win 9 times (or 7 or whatever) in a row shows that it is in fact a broken gametype.
-
Trials is -blam!-in' stupid overall. I pray that it doesn't show up in Destiny 2, but unfortunately it will...

3 Odpowiedzi"If you aren't going to spend top dollar on modded controllers, learn all the cheese and head glitch locations, use only the meta, highest OP weapons, and train hard to learn to DDOS...then you should not expect to win in Trials". Fixed it for you

If the average aren't meant to make it, yet you're average, then your logic is flawed. Look, there are too many factors that separate 9-0 from 8-1. Skill can be argued as being the top reason. From my experience since year one (only 9 flawless cards) is that the matchmaking system needs work. Weapons, supers, grenades and melees are fine. What isn't fine is the laggy matches (while not constant but still present) booting people back to orbit or not even spawning them into a match. I have beaten players with better numbers than me so it's possible for the average. Stop trying to hold people back with that sort of elitist mentality. It can be done, trials is just a joke tbh. Plus people now pay for it. Regarding it with this mindset is just silly at this point.
I hope trials gets killed off in the next episode or they bring new animators in. 😗
I am against trials for how Bungie nerfs weapons in order to balance it while the rest of the game suffers for it and I don't play it just for this reason. However, I see trials as a game mode for pvp'ers who want to test their skills against other skilled players and the lighthouse is for the teams that have beatened the competition with rewards fitting such an achievement. It's not for casual players and it's foolish to think that you can get there in your first attempt. It takes skill, teamwork, patience, and determination to make it and these take work to achieve. So if you really want it, you have to put in the work and time for it.

I miss the days when the Thorn was the trials go to weapon at least everyone could get that one

I understand where you are coming from but I also have a problem with post like these. Yes it is true that trials was not intended for the casual playerbase. Sandbox design confirmed this himself. The problem lies within the fact that isn't true at all. While an elite best of the best mode does sound competitive, it is far from it when you have others offering paid carries and account recoveries. So while everyone runs around saying trials wasn't meant for you just remember it wasn't meant for the largest portion of the community anyway. The idea that trials could be competitive in the sense that the developers intended is not possible in this situation. Also the most competitive game mode doesn't match you against players in your skill bracket is a joke. Of all pvp game modes this should have been the one that actually had sbmm. How is it competitive to go up against players that are much less skilled than you? Tell me how is that the ultimate victory.
-
I've never been to the lighthouse. Would I like to get there on day? absolutely! (assuming it'll be in Destiny 2 also). But i do like to earn my weapons and armor. This dude is 100% correct. I've only gotten to two 8-0 runs and unfortunately lost the last round. It is what it is. You can say i suck or whatever but I'm at least realistic about the situation.

9 OdpowiedziI have 33 days of game time on my hunter alone. I have been flawless several times. I used to go flawless at least once every week. My same team can barely get past game 5. We are getting 5-0 by recovery accounts with 1200 grimoire and 1/6 the amount of game time as us. If not recoverys then people with 120+ flaw runs and 2.8 kd's. I am not an average player. I spend all weekend playing trials every week. You mean to tell me that I am not supposed to play trials because I have a job and can't full time destiny? Nah lol your logic is flawed. It is a competitive game style with an end goal. Once a player goes flawless, that character should be put into a separate bracket with other players who have gone flawless. Leave players competing for lighthouse only player mother players competing for lighthouse. Most eletists don't play for lighthouse, they only play to ruin cards. Last week I played a guy who had already been flawless 8 times on that character. And it wasn't a carry because the other two with him had been flawless as well. I have an average kd but I'm not an average player. I just get my a$$ whipped every weekend by people who destiny 24/7

48 OdpowiedziHonestly I just skimmed the post but you're right and wrong. It's not the tryhards I blame because they are doing what tryhards do and if that's what is fun for them then they should do them. My issue is that a group of three that have been flawless 80 times apiece should not be matched under any circumstance with a team that have zero flawless between them. For me at least it a matchmaking being total garbage issue. I don't expect to be the best and I wouldn't want to if I could, this isn't the "go pro" game. However, being able to have even a minor amount of success is by no means unreasonable (aka bounties and/or the lowest win streak reward).
