tired of saying it to the whiners who come to the forum every tuesday with the normal "failed to flawless yet again this weekend because my team faced SUPER SWEATY TRYHARDS who want nothing but to WIN. i sure wish bungie would give average players a chance in trials instead of matching us with ULTRA SWEATS every single game!!!!!!"
news flash! trials is meant to be a place where rather good players compete against eachother, and the lighthouse is supposed to be for the elite. unfortunately things like paid carries exist and thousands of average players see the lighthouse every weekend. but the average players who play the game for fun with friends should no be upset when they lose in trials. it is clear that it is intended to be the "competitive" game mode, so don't go in expecting to do well unless you have a solid team.
but i payed for the game! i should have access to everything on disc because i payed for it!
did everyone who bought halo 3 get the recon armor? no. is everyone who bought the division entitled to every single high end weapon in the game? no. is every single $2 age of triumph treasure box guaranteed to have $2 worth of loot in it? of course not. so this logic is flawed.
trials isn't meant for everyone, and if it isn't for you then you dont have to play. there are many other ways to reach 400 light and you don't even have to win anything to get the trials emblem in the record book. so please stop complaining about losing solely because you aren't good enough or keep facing "sweaties" or "tryhards" (also known as "players who are genuinely better than you at the game")
edit: okay so i've gotten lots of shit which is fine. we're all here to have conversations.
1. never once in this post did i call myself a good or above average player who earned their lighthouse runs. i have 20+ flawlesses as an average player which should not be possible but it is because of how broken the trials system is, but that is a topic for another day.
2. I DO NOT LIKE TRIALS. I DO NOT PLAY TRIALS ANYMORE. i stopped playing several months ago because i hate how slow paced and boring it is. so don't call me a trials elitist ELO god because i couldn't give less of a shit about stats or playing trials for myself.
i am just annoyed with people complaining about losing to people who are better than them.

1 OdpowiedźTHE ONLY ISSUE WITH TRIALS IS THE FOLLOWING: Hardly anyone plays Trials. That's it. That's the entire issue. If there were more of a reason for people to log in a play trials, there would be so many people going flawless. I keep saying this, but here it is again. That first week of trials when Rise of Iron dropped..oh boy it was awesome. So many accounts were playing. I think I went flawless 5 times that weekend. I didn't even have to. Just having fun. Got the scarab early on as well. After that first weekend...it was nothing but complaints and the player base of trials went down to next to nothing. No one plays=upset players...kind confusing but that's it.

Not sure what's more annoying. The people complaining about Trials every week, or the people complaining about the people that complain about Trials every week . . .

47 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika PhreshBrotha: 4/24/2017 5:53:26 PMWhat gets me is highly skilled players say something along the lines of this: "Better players shouldn't be punished by only facing better players Or "SSBM in trials wouldn't be fair for high skilled players because then they would have to play sweats every match" So let me get this straight: The Lighthouse is only for the Best of the Best, it is endgame content for Highly Skilled PVP players, it is a EARNED by players who put time and practice into the game in order to reach that level...and yet these Highly Skilled players feel like they shouldn't have to play other high skilled players to get there? See what I'm getting at? Why shouldn't you as a pro/elite/PVP God have to play others who are at your level or at least close, to earn this "Great Achievement"? If you go to the Lighthouse like say 10 times per weekend, knowing damn well that you 5-0'd at least 6 or 7 teams of average and below-average players to get there each time, are you really being challenged at that point? Are you really achieving anything? I know people hate real life analogies, but here is one anyway; In the spirit of the NBA Playoffs, imagine if Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors were in a playoff bracket with 7 Highschool Basketball teams. Even if they win the championship and have a parade, guess what? They played High school basketball teams to get in. My main point here is this: I understand that Trials is supposed to be the most competitive playlist with high stakes and rewards. It's for "the best of the best". The Lighthouse is earned (and sometimes payed for), not given. So with all that being said, the best players should not see playing others of equal skill as punishment, they should see it as earning their way into the Lighthouse by playing at THEIR best from Game 1 to Game 9 (or 1 - 7)

2 OdpowiedziRANKED PLAY! it's not that hard. Overwatch does it, I'm sure many other PVP shooters also do it. You have regular crucible, which doesn't need ranked play. But to me, trials equates to competitive play in Overwatch. I don't see how hard this is. I feel like people who are ok with trials the way it is need to feel special, like they are better than random people they've never met.

7 OdpowiedziHow to break Trials ------------------------ 1:Every body plays Trials 2:Bad players beat worse players 3:Repeat (Basically bad players beat bad players and move up, as this cycle happens like 10000 times assuming everyone plays, bad players can match bad players at 7+ wins) 4:Good players can carry terrible players who couldn't beat bad players till flawless This happens now but in a smaller scale, how I went flawless in Year 1

I have accepted this fact long ago. Never gotten to the lighthouse and I know I never will.

14 Odpowiedzi
news flash! trials is meant to be a place where rather good players compete against eachother
If this is the case then it should be ranked, you got 2200+ Elo then you should be ranked with players from that rank, that keeps it competitive. 800 Elo play each other, that makes it a competitive game mode for everyone. Beast mode players killing average players doesn't help either type of player. I'm a football referee, and when I ref a match and a team wins 9-1 I always think, who actually learned anything from that, no one, it was a complete waste of time. When I ref a match and it finishes 3-2, I think, that was a great game, both teams will learn from that experience.
-
But i want a participation trophy because i paid for the game

I never got on with trials, wasn't good enough. Wasn't terrible at crucible, but far from good (K/D Ratio, All Time 1.42) but was never able to get through with my friends in trials. surprise it hasn't died out. I'd have thought enough people would get frustrated and stop playing it that only the die hards remained, and then they get frustrated when they were now the small fish, getting whooped by even better players. maybe an ability matchmaking system would be of benefit. id certainly appreciate being matched with some easier opponents after being stomped in 10 to 15 games back to back... but i think those that go flawless would get annoyed obviously teams that get flawless week in and week out would face other teams going flawless and when they meet one of the teams is not going to achieve flawless. ......they would complain a lot. similar to the op's post. but if it hasnt happened in the 2 to 3 years since i left i doubt it will ever be created.

Why do people discourage lower skilled players from playing trials? The fewer people play, the fewer people there are going to the lighthouse, the less fun it is for everyone.
-
62 OdpowiedziWithout sbmm trials will always be unfair
-
Players should face players on the same skill level which would make it more fun and fair. Overwatch does a great job of this in competitive and Destiny would improve if they did this
-
Just make trials SBMM, and everyone will have the same equal chance. Trials does not have to be easy, but it should be fair. The current system only favours the best, but limits everyone else.
-
57 OdpowiedziNo an average player should be able to play trials an get to the lighthouse. There are no argument about it. Trials should be playable for all instead of one group of people. Piss off with this post. Because of all the flawless scrubs would disappear for a day to weeks more people could actually play the trials an get to the lighthouse.
-
I would say the light house is for the average player however not for the bad players(me). I have played with people who go flawless every week but I would not consider them good players. Trials is more about map awareness than skill. Obviously gun skill helps but it isn't the most important thing.
-
3 OdpowiedziI tried trials this weekend and I think im finally done. Im obviously incapable of making enough improvement to compete with these guys. Never been flawless and never will. Every team I play feels like Seal team six. Oh by the way the game mode is fine but it's hard. I realized I just cant react and learn these maps as well as I used to.
-
I'm average, been flawless a few times, but know there are a lot of players WAY better than me so I don't get to worked up about not going... but I would like to see a system that once you go flawless on a character, that character gets bumped into another tier against other flawless runners - this would give other, average players such as myself, a fighting chance to possibly get there - I know a lot of people don't like this idea ( and I'm sure it's mainly the flawless and streamers who profit from doing Sherpa runs ) but going flawless against others you KNOW have gone is the mother of all bragging rights.... for them, not me.... cause I don't make it
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Phobos113: 4/24/2017 8:59:09 PMI've never gone flawless myself, or even gotten close to it, but then again I'm not going to complain as long as I get some kind of trials loot. I could give a shit about adept loot or whatever, it's my understanding that there is little difference between that stuff and the regular loot anyway. It's also my understanding that the stuff you can get out of the lighthouse can be of "average" or worthless quality anyway, so.. basically, all of that sweat for nothing. It is kind of crap mechanics that you will often be pitted up against people that are far outside of your skill level though. In any kind of fighting competition, you don't throw a heavy weight in with a light weight, because it's not a fair fight, besides it just turns the people who really care about winning into salt mines when they loose all the time to people who are WAY outside of their skill level, and then they come here to bitch. I'm actually more annoyed by all of the posts I see in the recruitment area that ask for help in Trials and then demand a certain KD (even in the "newbie" section) because they're trying to go to the lighthouse. The fact is, there isn't much of a point in sweating it if you don't already have a group of friends that you play with regularly who you know for a fact are really good, and who you have a strategy with and communicate well with. Coming here to assemble a group for Trials is basically the same as relying on the matchmaking system, because you never really know what your are going to be up against, who your are going to be with in a team, or how they are going to play against different types of people or in different situations, it's too unpredictable to be worrying about the stupid lighthouse under those circumstances. If you are really THAT bent on going to the light house and haven't had any luck, then pay someone to carry you through and stop complaining and/or filling the recruitment threads with crap like "trying to go to the lighthouse, must have (X) KD and know what you are doing", and then bitching when things don't work out.
-
You would be surprised. I have lost to a lot of bad or average teams. But don't worry me and my teams journey to get below 500 elo started yesterday
-
while you may be right, not everyone will be successful, to say it wasn't meant for everyone yet charging them for the content is a kick in the teeth. The issue many have is that when you bring up real SBMM so that players of like skill play against each other, you get many who don't want that, yet try to lord over the rest of the weaker players as if they were gods, heaven forbid they come up against any competition themselves and when they do.. Nerf Skorri, nerf ammo, nerf this gun, nerf that super, nerf that grenade and that melee..

4 OdpowiedziI don't play PvP in Destiny. There. That's out of the way. Ok. I 100% with the sentiment. And I agree that it can be applied to all games and end content. I'd love that War Numen's raid gear, but because me and my raid team are crap, I'm never going to have it, which is fine because it's only right: complete X to get gear Y. Whether Trials, raids, or whatever. I don't expect to be carried in either mode, nor should I. With Trials, if people want to sit in that game type and wreck people's dreams, then let them. They paid for the same content, so should be able to play how they want. If you want the gear, and can't play to the standard needed to get it, then I don't see why someone should stop playing to give you a chance, the chance is there for you. Back to the War Numen's gear (haha!), would I like to be given it? Not really. It's cool af, but I'd much rather be able to beat the raids and earn the gear than a hand out. And before anyone says anything: I'm a filthy casual scrub that needs to git gud, etc. My k/d is pathetic, blah, blah.
OP is right
3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika TheCyo: 4/24/2017 8:22:12 AMClueless posting. If Trials was meant for good people to compete against each other, SBMM would be used in Trials. Every elimination game during the week is harder for good players because of SBMM. How it is setup now, it is good people stomping average and bad people people. Trials is so easy for good people that they have to handicap themselves with "carries" to make it a little bit interesting. Think about it.
-
4 OdpowiedziI'm confused ... how exactly do you get the "trials emblem" from the book without going flawless ? You have had to have gone flawless to get it.
-
the cry babies the nerf herders the ones who bent over the most for bungie (streamers and youtubers) the ones who need to take kids lunch and pocket money for a carry the ones who bitch and moan when they get out played there the ones you will find in trials
-
Or you can just not give a shit. As it ultimately means nothing anyway
