We as Men and Women were given the Earth as a gift by God. We are supposed to take care of this gift and each other. That's the test/task God gave us. That is how you align yourself with God. Some people choose to disconnect themselves from God...by being negative influences on the world around them Don't denounce God because of this. And you don't have to be so literal either Look at God as positivity. Align yourself with positivity

I do believe in GOD. I just don't see GOD the way others do. One thing is for sure, GOD was visible to me in times of need. GOD manifests in a way that only YOU can see fit. People say GOD like if it was a he or being. But it goes so much further and complicated than that. I've got a few stories I wish I could share, but I have NTTE. No pun intended. Perhaps later....

Here are my favorite questions to ask. If God is real, why didn't he stop 9/11? Why does he allow terrorism to occur? Why does he allow cancer and shit like that?

4 OdpowiedziIf God is the almighty "caring" being, then why is there so much suffering on a global scale? Why do the rich get richer and the poor get poorer?

1 OdpowiedźI don't understand why people don't like cabbages.

12 OdpowiedziSimply put, there isn't enough evidence.

We,re taught that scientific and historical stuff were exposed to all of our lives are "true" but actually were led to believe these truths cuz we have faith that " facts" are true....its not like we individually go and verify everything by experiment. That said.....we therefore have faith in some stuff...why not God then? Even if you discount allegations of miracles...the ultimate question of existence generally leads to one conclusion...being God..or god..or gawd.... definitely not a fluke occurrence

7 OdpowiedziI don't believe he exists, but I see God as a power hungry maniac with no interest in anybody except himself. He refuses to help anyone unless they give their lives to him and worship him for eternity. If God is so "merciful" and "loving", then how come the world is in chaos? God is just a coping mechanism for people who can't handle their own life.

I'm in that grey area, I sort of believe in God, but I don't believe in afterlife.

1 Odpowiedźi feel bad for people who kill themselves because "god has plans for them" and then just find out that there is no further life and they basically just screwed themselves. besides putting themselves out of their misery. depending on how bad their life was in the first place.

7 OdpowiedziGive me solid proof god is real. None of your "this was a miracle from him" bullshit

because I don't want to and I don't have to. and lol at "all the miracles and stuff".

I'm an Agnostic Atheist. Rather than denying the existence of a supreme deity, I'm unsure. Just because I see a "miracle" does not mean I will automatically convert to some deity-based religion. It is my belief, just as your beliefs are your own.
-
Because tbh my religion is better.

Hehe gods fake my dude

2 OdpowiedziOk let me ask you something. In the Bible it says " Man was created in the image of God"(or something like that), so how is it I'm color blind but my freinds aren't? Is God colorblind? Just a thought

Christianity was crammed down my throat as far back as I could remember. I remember waking up every Sunday and thinking, "Why do I have to wake up at 8:00 in the morning to worship a God I don't believe?" I hated it because the whole 2-hour lectures where just stories the pastor read out of a book. (Who wrote the book? Where did it come from?) I would just sit there and be miserable for the whole lecture because I didn't care, not in the slightest. Later (about 12 or so), I started to get into science a bit more. I listened to the sermons (which we were going to every now and then), and I just found science as the most logical and viable option. Christianity didn't really make all that much sense. Fast forward to about month ago, my grandmother (Who is incredibly religious, every day she tells me to live for Jesus, and I tell her I will) took me to a lecture about disproving science. I nearly laughed when their first rebuttle was against the Earth not being completely flooded. They showed an image of the water abruptly stopping hundreds of feet above land, but what they didn't mention is that THE MOUNTAINS WEREN'T ALWAYS SUBMERGED IN WATER (If at all). I mean, even is that isn't enough, some of the rules are stupid. Some of them makes sense, but...
Thou shall not covet. (Or something along those lines, correct me if I'm wrong)
I'm not allowed to be want something?
cov·et kəvət verb yearn to possess or have (something).
What? Other than that, I just don't want to have to rely on God to do things for me, especially since whenever I did pray, I didn't really get a tangible response. If one did exist, I'd rather live my life than have God give me the cheat codes.
"It's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years that counts." - Adlai E. Stevenson.
~
How do you atheists and pagans explain all the miracles at shrines and stuff? I'm catholic btw
You mean things that kinda happen without reason? It's kinda in the definition, man. Just because it's not proven or we can't explain it doesn't mean a diety did it. Did you know gravity is a theory? It exists, we just can't completely explain it. Edit 1: Sorry, I am writing this in government class, so if it seems sporadic or unorganized, it's probably because it is. Currently trying to take notes, fill out a study guide, and be part of this debate. Edit 2: Minor grammatical fixes.

5 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika pValue2010: 2/13/2017 6:18:33 PMAs far as we can tell, the universe operates in predictable ways, independent of anything supernatural. This even includes complex processes like evolution. I understand the emotional/societal reasons for believing in a certain deity, but I don't think there's any rational reason for it. So, I'm willing to hear any rational arguments you have for believing in a god. Examples of irrational reasons are: * "what if" scenarios * you were brought up believing it * you don't know how else to explain something * wishful thinking
