Should I Have Lost On Purpose
So I was on Destiny and I was really bored. I saw my friend playing private matches. I joined we were all having fun then a squeaker joins us. I didn't have a problem with it because Destiny has players of all ages most players are below the teen rating. As we did a rumble match he said you have no skill I am better than you. When he said this he wasn't joking he was dead serious. He wasn't the best player but he wasn't the worst he was in the middle. But from the rumble matches we played I knew I was more skilled. So I told him you think your more skilled he said yes. So in response I said lets 1v1. I know it sounds immature but he got very annoying so I thought this would make him be quiet. During it he never killed me once. He then claimed it was because his guns sucked. He said let me go to the tower. After he got his better guns we played again another one sided match and he got 0 kills. He the claimed it was because he was on his titan. So I let him switch to a warlock. As we were playing the final match because I got bored I though of letting him win. The reason for this is because I didn't want to make him feel like he was a bad player but I knew if I lost he wouldn't let me here the end of it. So we finished and he got two kills. What would you guys do?
Edit: Some people think that my intent was to "show off" my skill. If I truly wanted to I wouldn't talk about beating a child because you know that's not very impressive. I just wanted to see how others would react in my place. Why people thought this I will never know it isn't impressive to beat a ten year old so why would I brag about it. Also I didn't let him kill me those two kills were just normal kills.

Who is better than who in a [i]video game[/i] makes no difference whatsoever in real life. Reminds me of Back to the Future where Marty would accept any challenge if anyone called him chicken. Just so much wasted effort and energy.

1 OdpowiedźI've only ever been through something like this once. Back in the heyday of MW2. My friends and I were all pretty good. A buddy's little brother said his "clan" would decimate us. We decided to do a 2v2. They picked the map and we went to work with our usual weapons. We slaughtered them. Over and over. They cried, they accused us of all sorts of shady things. But we let them know that if you're going to call someone out, be prepared to get drug through the dirt. No ragrets.

First off, i wouldn't even have bothered playing so many matches with him. Secondly, his weapons are the problem, then its cos he's on his titan. I get that 'kids are kids blah blah blah', but to join a private match and then start chatting sh*t about being better than other players. Its kids/players like this that tbag players someone else killed, make posts on lfg asking for kd's/elo's way above their own, ask for nerfs on weapons/subclasses cos they got killed by these 'broken' aspects of the game. Basically the cause of most of the negative posts on the forums. I understand why you're feeling remorse but in all seriousness the kid's mouth was writing cheques his skills couldn't cash. Better he gets a reality check here than in some way that actually matters. Personally i think you did fine.

Needs to learn to be humble. You let him exhaust his excuses and yet he was still inferior. He's got an ego problem and that's not your fault. As long as you didn't go down to his level and trash talk him then you're good.

Probably could have explained to him that Destiny is a team game and it doesn't matter who's better as long as the team wins. Everyone should try and contribute of course. But individual stats don't mean much when all of you are standing in the lighthouse. And if he didn't like that, do what you did.

I would just have played half. Mic on mute, listen to some podcasts or such... if he still can't win after that, he simply sucks. If he does manage to win, everyone knows he just won one out of three matches because you were doing something else
